View Full Details of Avery Park Care Home - Avery HealthcareDad has dementia and is looked after very well here. It is always immaculate and clean.
The staff/carers' experience and competency is quite varied. There are some very good staff in the building but also some who seem under-trained or in some cases ill-suited for the role. Frustratingly if I ask a carer for something that isn't immediate I am told that they will report back or find the right member of staff but almost without exception, nothing happens and I have to chase. The most recent example - I asked six times over the course of 3 days for my power chair to be charged, which I'm no longer permitted to do myself.
Dad has lived here for approximately 9 months and I have nothing but good things to say about Avery Park Care Home. All the carers and management are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. Dad's behaviour can be challenging at times but they manage it remarkably well and always listen to his needs. I recommend Avery for anybody's loved ones.
Mum has been in Avery for over 2 years and has recently moved to the nursing floor, where communication of Mum's needs could be better. Overall happy with Avery and the staff.
Mum moved to Avery Park Care Home in October 2024. She has been very happy here. The staff are all very caring and friendly. The place is always very clean and tidy and all the staff work very hard. The food is excellent and Mum is enjoying the activities. We have peace of mind that Mum is safe, secure and most importantly cared for well.
My mum has been at Avery Park Care Home for two and a half years. The hospital made the care decision for us, as Mum was no longer safe at home. She had liked the look of Avery Park from the outside from when it opened, so it was the first place I checked out. It was the perfect choice for us. From the moment I stepped through the door I was impressed. The staff, care and facilities are great. The whole family are welcomed and it is the happiest and most content Mum has been for years!
Very pleasant and caring environment, with attentive and helpful staff. All questions are answered and they know all about my auntie. Thanks.
I am a very close friend to a resident of Avery Care Home Kettering. He is like a dad to me and has been in Avery Care Home for eighteen months now. When he first moved in, he wasn't very well at all after a fall and being in hospital for three months and now, with all the excellent care and attention he is doing really well at the age of nearly 91, even walking again. I visit weekly and take his wife in to see him and always made very welcome. The friendly and caring staff are amazing with him and he always says he's enjoyed his meals. l would like to say he has settled in very well and feels at home in excellent surroundings and well-equipped bedroom. The decision to move him into Avery had the full support of his wife and friends.
Mum is very settled at Avery Park and the care she receives is excellent. The managers and staff really know her well and tailor what they provide to meet her needs. The menu is varied with plenty of choice for all meals. The rooms are kept immaculately as is the whole home. The activity programme caters for a wide range of needs and provides a mix of in-house sessions, trips out and sessions run by outside providers. The entertainers, PAT dog visits, art sessions, and exercise classes all add variety for the residents. It is a pleasure to visit and chat with Mum and other residents. A very well-led and managed care home.
It was Mum's decision to become a permanent resident after staying for 2 weeks respite in the summer. She knew she could no longer manage at home even with support. Everyone at Avery Park has been so friendly and helpful and Mum has made new friends. I feel a lot happier knowing that there is always someone on hand when she needs help.
Mum is in the dementia suite and at first took quite a while to settle, but she has been joining in with the craft, entertainment and baking and pictures on social media showed that she was truly enjoying herself. As a result, she is much more settled now which is lovely to see when we visit. The staff are very dedicated and everyone does a really good job. I'm really pleased we chose Avery.
My mother has settled into Avery Park Care Home and all the staff are very helpful and listen to any queries we have very quickly. She feels very safe and now she isn't afraid to use the call button if necessary. If she has any accidents they are there to help when needed.
Our family has been impressed with the level of care and attention given to Mum since arriving at the home. Accommodation is welcoming and to a high standard, the atmosphere relaxing and homely. The staff work incredibly hard to ensure that Mum is well cared for and her needs are taken into account. Their care, kindness and patience are a real credit to them, for which we are so grateful. Family members are warmly welcomed and made to feel part of the home's community. We are so glad we found this home and feel assured that Mum will have the support to live comfortably and safely.
All staff are very good, many are super and I can't praise them highly enough. Please put TV back in the lounge. More cake and less pastries in reception area please.
