View Full Details of Boclair Care HomeDad was transferred from hospital to Boclair Care Home for end-of-life care. This was primarily to enable Mum and Dad to be cared for in the same place during his final days as they had never been apart in their sixty-nine years of marriage. Mum was in Boclair for respite care during Dad's time in hospital. We, as a family, will always have a deep sense of gratitude to the management team (particularly the then-manager) for speedily facilitating Dad's transfer to Boclair when it became obvious that he required a greater level of nursing care. This was carried out quietly and efficiently by staff who showed real understanding of what is important in a person's final journey. They also cared for Mum and us, as a family, with compassion and empathy. After Dad died, Mum became a full-time resident and continues to have excellent care within the 'Boclair family'. We remain thankful to have found such a welcoming environment for Mum to be part of and warmly commend the services and care at Boclair Care Home.
Incredible service since my gran moved here in 2023. The staff have been excellent and shown a high level of care. They are super personable and have gotten to know my gran (and us, as a family) really closely. Three-course meals at lunch and dinner, excellent activities and engagement. The standard is more like a five-star hotel than what I would have imagined from a care home! Thank you for everything you do.
My gran is one of your residents in the care home. Since her coming to your care home, she has been very happy and well cared for. Her health has massively improved and she has just celebrated her 93rd birthday at the start of January. I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the team and especially the deputy manager for being so very caring and helpful with my gran.
My mum has been in Boclair Care Home for two years and the care and attention that she has received in that time has been utterly tremendous. The staff are extremely attentive and spend time talking with my mum and she just loves the hairdresser and getting her hair done whenever she can. First-class care.
My dad moved into Boclair Care Home after a prolonged hospital admission. It was a decision we knew was right for Dad but it was also a difficult one. The staff at Boclair have made the process so much easier. Dad was warmly welcomed and immediately put at ease. The relief and sense of Dad feeling safe there is wonderful. Dad already has eaten better, mobilised more consistently and started enjoying the gorgeous setting at Boclair. The activities and stimulation available there will are so good for him. He's already brighter and more alert than when in hospital. We're all so pleased to see Dad starting to thrive. Boclair have really worked hard to provide a happy, engaging environment: a place where people can continue to enjoy quality of life.
I have found the care and the support of the nursing staff second to none. In relation to my loved one's home it was full of fun and a welcoming environment, and exceeded our expectations of what a care home was. I write this with thanks and gratitude to everyone in the home.
Whilst I cannot comment on food and drink, he seemed happy enough. Everything else is excellent. Accommodation is first-class and clean. Staff are outstanding - very caring, very attentive and happy to attend to any problem, no matter how small. It has been a pleasant experience visiting. Thank you to everyone for all their help.
I can’t say enough about the care and compassion shown to my mother by the manager, deputy manager and all the staff at Boclair. It was a short visit for Mum, under very extreme circumstances - but Boclair was a godsend to us all. We will be forever grateful to you all.
My mother suffers from dementia and initially was being cared for in another nursing home. However, she did not settle well and we quickly knew we had to find an alternative home where she would get the kind of care she needed. We were so fortunate to find Boclair Care Home. Since she moved there, she has thrived in every way. The staff and management could not be more caring. The concern they show to Mum is heart-warming. Their approach to caring for all their residents is outstanding and it’s a joy to visit the home and see all the smiling faces, both residents and staff. Mum has not been this happy in many years. We are so grateful to everyone who made this care home a special place.
Making the decision to move Dad into a care home was an emotional one for our family however thanks to the manager and the wonderful team of staff at Boclair, we haven't looked back! Gradually we saw Dad's personality, sense of humour and a little twinkle in his eye come back! He began to eat properly and his overall health generally improved. He felt safe, secure and above all, respected and cared for. There is always something going on every day thanks to the hard-working, creative activities team and many seasonal celebrations to enjoy. Dad is a reluctant participant but is gently persuaded to join in those that the staff know he will enjoy, and he does! He particularly loved the recent Burns Supper and a trip out to the local church for a Scottish music celebration. My family and I have nothing but praise for every aspect of Boclair Care Home and the staff have become like family too when we visit. Thank you, team Boclair.
My uncle's recent move to Boclair Care Home has been an incredibly positive experience. The facility, resembling a beautifully styled show home, exudes warmth and comfort. The excellent amenities, from communal spaces to individual rooms, reflect a commitment to high standards. What truly sets this care home apart is the remarkable staff. The care manager and team have been sensitive to the emotional challenges of transitioning to a care home, ensuring a smooth process for my uncle. Their unwavering support and genuine dedication to residents' well-being create a reassuring atmosphere. Boclair is not just a facility; it's a compassionate home, providing exemplary care and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Mum has been in Boclair for a year now. She gets the best of care. Lots of trips out, daily activities, entertainment and special events. Visitors are always welcome and also welcome to join in with any activity that may be happening at the time of the visit. The staff are very pleasant and have time to chat about Mum. They call me if they have a concern, which is much appreciated. I cannot sing the praises enough for Boclair staff and accommodation. Mum is very happy there.
My mum has been at Boclair Care Home for over a year now and is looked after by kind and genuinely caring staff. That's the most important thing, knowing she is safe with them. She is always neat and tidy and her room is immaculate.
My mum went into Boclair Care Home as a respite user. She originally was scheduled to stay 2 weeks and has decided to stay longer, 6 weeks and counting. She was extremely nervous about the prospect of being a resident of a care home, however she has flourished under the care of the staff at Boclair. The staff are absolutely excellent and go to great lengths to provide individual care for each of the residents. All the staff members are extremely friendly, compassionate and professional. The environment has a fantastic fun atmosphere which has really helped my mum to find her mojo again. The care home is beautifully decorated and is a lovely environment to visit. It's a tribute to the manager and her amazing team for creating a fun, safe and caring environment. I am absolutely delighted I chose Boclair and I am more delighted that my mum is loving the experience.
My husband has only been in Boclair Care Home since 28/11/2023 so it is early days and he is quite unsettled. However, the staff are giving him lots of attention and making allowances for his severe dementia. He is certainly receiving good care and lots of kindness from the excellent staff.
We were anxious when it was obvious that our mother needed to go into a care home. However, our fears have been completely allayed by the caring, friendly, professional staff at Boclair Care Home. Our mother has settled very quickly and couldn't be happier - continually commenting on how nice everyone is and even thanking us for choosing such a lovely 'new home' for her (which means the world to us). In addition, the location is great and the facilities are of the highest quality making it a lovely place to visit and spend time in. There are also plenty of activities on offer and our mother especially loves the music-based ones. We would like to express our gratitude to all those at Boclair Care Home in making this difficult transition as painless as possible.
From the second my mum was welcomed into Boclair Care Home we knew she was in the correct care home for her. Caring, compassionate and friendly to residents and their relatives alike. We can't praise the staff highly enough. To a person they are all doing a great job and making it a home where residents have fun in a safe environment. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. My husband wants to move in for the steamed puddings and custard!
My mother spent her last months at Boclair, and she was the happiest I had seen her for a while. She was treated with respect and dignity forming several friendships with the staff. She had exceptional care and the place was nicely presented and homely, I would often take my two children to visit and they would be quite happy. Highlights are the cafe where I would often grab a freshly ground cup and a cake to enjoy with Mum. Six members of staff, in particular, pulled out the stops to make her last days truly happy. Including helping her to visit our house one last time, and loaning us the use of the lovely formal dining room for her birthday. Mum liked to have her room door open all the time and there were never any problems, and she felt safe and secure there. One thing I would add is that you are treated as a service user, and care for relatives is provided just as much, when mum was in hospital a member of staff would keep in contact and see how she was.
My wife and I are really pleased with the way you are looking after our uncle. The staff are very good and take care of everything. The care home is exceptionally clean and tidy. Also, the security is very good.
Excellent care at all times. All staff are exemplary. I can relax knowing my husband is being well cared for.
