View Full Details of Surbitonian GardensWe moved our dad here from a different home, he looked like he was at death's door when he arrived. Within a couple of weeks, he is now walking again. Loves the home and is eating really well. (The food looks great) Joining in the activities. Everyone is really kind & caring, we are so glad he's here.
My Mum came to Surbitonian in August 2022. She previously lived in East Sussex but all her family lived in either Fulham or Kingston. Whilst we visited her every week she got to a point where she wanted to live near us all. We looked at Surbitonian & were impressed by their desire to create a community. The building was designed to support this. The Care Staff are incredibly supportive & caring and backed up by the nursing team. The one issue for me has been the turnaround of those in the "Manager role". Consistency in this role would help provide confidence and ensure that aims & objectives were clear and staff supported to deliver.
I found the managers to be extremely helpful and friendly. They facilitated emergency respite care for my aunt at short notice and with a "can do" attitude. The assessment pre admission by another member of staff, one of the clinical nurse leads was extremely thorough and inspired confidence. It was also done outside office hours, with an emphasis on allowing my aunt to access the care she needed and giving her family a much needed breather. My aunt has settled in well thanks to the care and attention of the nursing and ancillary staff. Another clinical lead has been most helpful and also inspired confidence with his follow through on clarifying clinical needs. It's such a blessed relief to know my aunt is getting gold standard care in a 5 star environment. Additionally it's not just her medical needs that are being catered to. The food is excellent and social activities abound. I'm tempted to check in myself!! I recommend Surbitonian Gardens unreservedly.
One of the staff helped find us a bed at very short notice for two weeks of respite care following a hospital stay. My friend's stay was exceptional and he was able to have all his meals with his wife who is a resident in the home. Thank your meeting all of his needs.
I found the staff very polite and helpful. The home was very modern and kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
We were absolutely delighted with the care that my father received here. Like many people, it was a new experience for us, one that clearly we were very keen to get right when a family member is affected. The manager, is wonderful, extremely welcoming and knowledgeable and made the whole matter very easy for us. All of the staff were cut from the same cloth in fact and were a blessing. There are activities to get involved with, a TV lounge and great food while the rooms themselves are very spacious with their own TVs and showers. There is a nice spacious garden to relax in and everything looks brand new. So, thank you guys.
Putting your loved one into a home is a difficult decision. I am glad we chose Surbitonian Gardens for his last year. This being such a modern and well-equipped building does make life easier for residents, staff and visitors. The most important facet of a home is without doubt the staff delivering the care. Without exception, the staff were good to brilliant. This was particularly apparent during my father's last month when his needs were greatest. I do believe some of the staff built a genuine relationship with my father and were fond of him.
Our experience (over a year) started well but standards started slipping after a couple of months. There were not enough carers to cope with the demands of all dementia residents when needed. Waiting 40 -50 minutes for toileting was not dignified. Activities were limited and not inclusive enough to to keep all residents stimulated and happy. Food often below average. A lot of promises but sadly short on delivery in every department.
The staff are very engaging ensuring the people are always looked after. The place is always clean and tidy.
Regular visitor since April 2023. Impressed by the high standard of resident rooms and facilities provided. Friendly and caring staff. Catering is good quality and generous portions. Communal areas are well tended (gardens), the interior décor is pleasing, and the dining room is well laid out to allow easy access for residents using wheelchairs/walkers. Highly recommend.
Everything was fine but there didn't seem to be enough staff on duty, none are present to help with drinks. Alarms unanswered, on one about but receptionist helped and was great with us. I helped one person to use the toilet.
Good, but seems undermanned. Need hooks on room walls. Washing gone missing and wrong clothes. Very friendly and nice and relaxed environment. The entertainment is very good. TV remote is very difficult to use for anyone. My mother could do with more snacks to feed her.
Very impressed with the care home. The staff are most friendly. The rooms for the resident - excellent. Actually was impressed with the entire place.
The place is clean and tidy, the reception desk is very welcoming. All carers are happy to help, and keen to resolve any issues that may arise. Rooms are large and comfortable, good facilities in rooms. Residents always appear to be happy, lots of activities. My only negative is that I feel more staff i.e care workers needed.
We are very pleased with the care Mum is receiving at the care home. She is happy and content. All the staff and carers are warm and friendly. Mum tells me she enjoys her food too! We did have an issue in January where Mum's little box with earrings went missing, but this has now been resolved satisfactorily.
Seemed much happier, he likes the staff and the home.
Before my friend came here he was having fall support 24 hours, now he can manage most things by himself. The freedom and support he gets from all staff to like a normal and with dignity. We visit every day, he is happy and room and meals always clean tidy, food always good.
Lovely, clean, care home. Staff are all friendly and accommodating.
