View Full Details of Chartwell HouseGreat care and compassion shown for my mum and she always appears happy and settled. The home is always very clean and smells nice and doesn't feel like a some care homes I've been in, more of a friendly hotel feel. Staff are always nice.
My father has been living at Chartwell for over 18 months. He is very happy there. The staff are kind, caring and very attentive. Everybody is very friendly. They have activities throughout the day to keep the residents occupied. I would recommend the Home to anyone.
I cannot recommend Chartwell House Care Home highly enough; this is a superb place. The management and staff are not only professional but also incredibly kind and loving towards all residents. They provide excellent care, ensuring that everyone feels safe and happy. The daily activities, including arts and crafts, quizzes, music, and exercise sessions, are both educational and fun, encouraging all residents to participate with joy. The facility itself is impressive, with modern rooms and beautiful furniture that give it a five-star hotel feel. Visitors are greeted warmly by the staff, who always have a welcoming smile. My dear friend has been at Chartwell for nearly three months now, and she is very happy and settled with the care she receives. Overall, the residents seem very happy because they are engaged in stimulating and enjoyable activities every day. The admissions manager is wonderful and has provided invaluable support, guidance, and care to the entire family, thank you.
My aunt has been in Chartwell House for coming up to two years. I have had experience of many care homes for elders in my family. The care and resident attention at Chartwell is the best that I have seen. A key factor is the constant fun that Chartwell brings to the residents through the daily activities and outings. Add to that fun and attentive staff, plus excellent management and leadership.
Mum has been at Chartwell House for 7 weeks now and we can't speak highly enough of the care she has received. The service right through from the initial assessment process and admittance to now has been first class. It was clear that all the staff are fully briefed about new arrivals as from day 1. All the staff including maintenance and kitchen staff knew mum by name. The care mum has received has been efficient, caring and compassionate. The daily activities are well planned and tailored to the residents needs. All residents are encouraged to participate as much as they want to. The food menu is varied and excellent quality, all staff are clearly well motivated and take pride in their work. The home is clean and well maintained. We are looking forward to mum having many happy years at Chartwell House.
I enjoy living here - people are very happy. I have live here for over a year.
My mother was at Chartwell House for four weeks recovering after a serious fall downstairs. She was treated by all members of staff with kindness and respect. The home was beautiful and decor outstanding. Staff greeting you on your arrival were all very cheerful. My mother's room was comfortable and again decorated to a high standard. Having two chairs in the bedroom was great for visitors. The room was kept clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble for the staff involved, even when my mother asked for different pillows, that was attended to straight away. Using the Bistro was extremely pleasant and having visitors and sitting in the lounge area was enjoyable and again the staff were on hand to provide drinks and pleasantries. The meals provided were excellent and very generous. Having a glass of wine with the meals made it feel more like home. Just like to say thank you again to all the staff for everything they did for my mother.
I cannot recommend Chartwell House Care Home highly enough. My wife, who has dementia, has been there for 4 weeks now having respite care and has just extended to January next year. The management and care staff are so caring, I cannot thank them enough. The home itself is lovely with lots for the residents to do, definitely gets 5 stars from me.
An excellent facility in every sense. The care and attention to all the residents in Chartwell House is exceptional and constant. The staff at all levels have a smile on their faces at all times and nothing is too much trouble. So re-assuring to have my mother reside at such a wonderful establishment.
My relative required care at short notice. All staff were extremely helpful and arranged admission swiftly. She was made very welcome and settled in very quickly. Excellent care is being given making her feel safe. She has been in other care homes but none compared to the care shown at Chartwell House.
Can't thank the staff at Chartwell House enough for caring for my dad. It's a tough, emotionally draining time for relatives, so can't imagine how hard it is for the staff, looking after so many elderly guests at the home. But they have been wonderful. Kind, patient and more than happy to help whenever asked. Angels, all of them.
This year we have been lucky enough for my mother to have a permanent residential place on the memory floor at Chartwell House, with her own ensuite room and access to all the communal areas on the secure floor. Staff are highly trained, compassionate and genuinely dedicated to the well-being of the residents, who they all know by name. During visits, family members are also warmly welcomed. A monthly calendar of activities engages residents, both morning and afternoon. These include music, art and craft, quizzes and accessible exercise sessions in the lounges or outside in the large gardens. Outings to local shops, cafes and seafronts are an important and safely organised part of mums care. If you are looking for the best environment for a loved one with dementia, Chartwell House is it! We knew from our very first meeting with the admissions manager, we had found the right place. When taking on the huge responsibility of choosing a permanent place for your loved one needing care.
Our happy family lives were shattered this year when my husband received a diagnosis of vascular dementia. His condition deteriorated rapidly and I was left with the heartbreaking decision of having to find an alternative home for him after nearly 50 years together. Thankfully, a room became available at Chartwell and, since then, our lives have brightened and the burden of this awful disease has been alleviated. I now know that all of my husband's needs are met in this comfortable and spotlessly clean home. The food is varied, well presented and nutritious and he is provided with every comfort. More importantly, the wonderful staff genuinely know him and care for him. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I can see that he is relaxed and contented in their company. Chartwell has lifted the stress and sadness from our family's situation and we are eternally grateful for their loving kindness. I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful home.
Everyone has been fantastic from admission for my Father upon discharge from hospital in May 2024 direct to Chartwell House as he couldn't return to his own home. All of the staff show kindness and compassion at a very difficult time for us. The care that Dad receives on the memory floor for his needs is exemplary. I now have complete peace of mind that Dad is being cared for in a safe. Caring and secure environment with outstanding staff and facilities.
My mother has been living at Chartwell House for approximately 5 weeks. We chose Chartwell House for numerous reasons; specialist 'memory' facilities, spacious and well laid out environment, welcoming atmosphere and it was quite apparent to us that it was well resourced in terms of staffing and the wide range of stimulating/fun activities available for residents. (They produce and share a schedule for the month ahead which outlines activities available each morning and afternoon). The standard of care has been first class - and the staff go out of their way to be helpful and supportive to us as a family too, which is so appreciated especially when you have a close family member with dementia. Being able to book a table in their Bistro area and have a meal with your loved one is also a special feature of Chartwell House.
We were in for 3 weeks respite and made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly and would do their utmost to fulfil any requests made. The new building was pristine having only been open for less than 2 years and the fixtures and fittings gave the impression of a good class hotel. We particularly liked the Bistro, the actual meeting place where most of the activity occurred and smaller lounges were available on all floors. The food was usually well-cooked. The entertainment team had events morning and afternoon and were very jolly. The gardens gave the impression of tranquillity with plenty of seats and sunshades. Overall, we found little to complain about.
My sister has been at Chartwell just over a year now and despite saying "I'm not selling my bungalow" before coming and has never looked back from the day she arrived. She knows and gets on extremely well with both residents and staff. She joins in with all activities provided by the Home and her friends and family are made very welcome. Chartwell was recommended to us and we are delighted with it. My wife and I could not have found a better home for her to live out her latter years.
Mum was whisked into the delightful Chartwell House within 4 days. The professionalism, speed, and compassion shown to her during a difficult time. They are committed to the care of the residents, warm, caring, kind, and dedicated. My mother had experienced a period of short-term care in another home which did not go well. Chartwell has brought the mum I knew back, she feels safe, and happy and is enjoying the friendships she is making with so many of the lovely residents. The activities Chartwell for the residents are beautifully organised and great fun. A full list of daily events to join. The rooms are beautifully appointed with an open and airy feel some looking onto the beautiful, well-manicured, and colourful grounds. The menus are good and residents can ask for other dishes not on the menu. The personal care plans for the individuals are well written and followed to the last letter. The open and transparent communication between the home and the relations is exceptional.
My mother is on the memory floor and she has now settled in and could not be happier. I think this is the happiest I have seen her in years. The staff are truly wonderful and the activities every day are great. Chartwell House is more like a 5-star hotel. They have bands and singers come and perform, my mum loves it, she is up dancing and having a great time. They even go out to Westwood Cross for hot chocolate and have been 10-pin bowling. The level of care is what makes the difference. The staff are more like friends and family. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my mum.
Mum who has dementia has now been living in Chartwell House for 6 months and she’s a changed person. She’s happy, singing, occasionally dancing, and more engaged in life and I’m now making some lovely memories with her. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. From the moment you walk in you won’t want your loved one to live anywhere else.
