View Full Details of Barchester Silverbirch House Care HomeEverything has been excellent. Care given to toiletry help, variety of activities especially exercises for me and individual dietry problems in my unforseen circumstances given. Hospitality to my visitors excellent.
Moving Mum into Silverbirch House was a good decision. She is safe and content and receives first class care. The staff are well trained, considerate and treat Mum with dignity. Visitors are greeted by name and offered assistance. The quality of the residents meals is clearly a priority. Excellent working arrangements with the local GP practice and district nurses deliver impressive standards of medical care. Mum says 'I am well looked after here' - I agree with her.
The Care Manager and her deputy couldn't have done more to put me at my ease and for me to see that this was a well run home where staff really cared for their residents and that my Dad would be well looked after. His hospital stay had left him in a poor state but right from our first discussions all the management have gone above and beyond. Now that my Dad is with them the kindness shown by everyone is wonderful My Dad's mobility has improved and the food is nutritious and tasty and my Dad has already put on weight. It was lovely to hear him say that everyone is very kind and that he enjoys the food. Having looked at other homes, this one stands out from the crowd.
My grandmother has only been a resident for 2 weeks but in this short space of time, her family have been impressed with the professionalism and caring attitude of the staff. She has been made to feel very welcome, with a high level of support. The facilities are first class.
A warm, polite welcome from all staff. Beautiful surroundings. We came for a meeting with the assistant manager to discus my father-in-law's health. It was a down to earth yet professional discussion.
I have been to this new care home quite often and most people seem to sit in the coffee shop which could be a bit bigger as it is small and it's nice and light with views over the gardens. It's a very friendly place, very nicely looked after. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I visit my friend. I admit I was worried about him at first but the home is lovely and he seems well looked after. In fact, I wouldn't mind moving in myself! I am happy for him and I, myself, have peace of mind knowing that he is here and the staff are great!
We were extremely please with everything at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home. All the team were very welcoming and easy to engage with. They took time to get to know what my father's interests were so they could ensure he felt comfortable from the start. We will definitely be returning to Silverbirch House. Thankyou.
The manager and staff are so very caring and I'm always kept up to date with any issue. It is never a problem to talk to anyone if you have any concerns. Initially I was so worried about my partner going into a home and it was a very difficult start for him but the manager and staff persevered their control and management were exceptional. He is happy now has a lovely room and is safe which for dementia sufferers and their families is the main concern. It is well run and beautifully equipped.
The care home is beautifully decorated, clean, warm and inviting. The entrance coffee bar is a hub for everyone to meet and chat. Chilled water, coffee, tea and cake are always available. The staff are absolutely amazing. I feel like all the major stresses and strains of supporting my Mum in the community and helping to run her home have eased. I can now visit my Mum and be more present, spending quality time with her. I've played cards, played darts, had lunch in the restaurant, taught a chair Pilates class, done her hair in the salon, alongside their resident hairdresser (who is amazing with the residents), I've even danced with my Mum during a singsong. The only disappointing thing is that they lost their entertainments manager the same week as my Mum came to Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home and my Mum would like a more varied range of daily activities. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to any one.
All the staff are very good and helpful. The room is very good. Happy here. It would be nice if there was more to do.
The staff are outstanding, friendly professional and encouraging. The facilities are very good indeed. Outstanding value for money. They have transformed my view of care homes. Most importantly they have improved my mother's quality of life. Nothing is too much for the staff and they are innovative in the way they care for my mother and ensure she is happy. Cannot rate the care home highly enough.
I have been very impressed at the quiet, calm, professional and find way the team have assessed my 95-year-old mother over a period where she has been very unwell with a bladder infection, she is now very frail and also very poorly but the team are adapting to her needs and treating her with kindness and dignity. I am now beginning to feel more confident that her final weeks/months will be made as comfortable as possible and that together we can make her final journey more bearable. You have some very special people on the team!
Wonderful place, feels like a posh hotel, luxury grandeur but so friendly and homely. Wonderful staff, helpful, friendly, efficient. Always a pleasure to see the smiles, and hear the laughter. Charming.
Only a short stay. Fantastic care home, great staff but more care needed than available in a care home environment. Wish he could have stayed longer as the home is fabulous.
Excellent staff attention - great support. Food very good, a lot of choice, all well presented. Comfortable rooms, quiet and friendly. Very contented to be here, may the time go past slowly so I may stay longer!
Very pleasant, roomy rooms. Friendly atmosphere. Food good. Good friends made.
My elderly dad came for respite care at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home in May 2024. He settled in perfectly and quickly decided that he'd like to stay. The staff couldn't be kinder and are always on hand to help. After being in hospital for a week, Dad's walking had declined but as soon as he was in Silverbirch House, I could see him growing gradually stronger again. His life has been enriched with group activities, such as exercise classes, music, flower arranging, cooking, gardening and even outings. The meals are well-prepared and there is always a choice. I know the excellent, homecooked food was a factor in Dad's decision to stay. The beautiful interiors are bright and spacious and the accessible garden is a huge bonus. Dad has a ground-floor room and he can look out over the garden and see what's going on and step out into the fresh air whenever he wants. Thank you to everyone at Silverbirch House, we can't imagine we could have found a better or nicer place.
The staff at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home provide an outstanding, caring experience; they genuinely care about my mother's welfare and well-being, and always go the extra mile to make her feel safe, welcome and cared for. The facilities and environment are excellent. Likewise, staff provide a very good range of activities to ensure residents are entertained, stimulated and involved. An excellent care home!
