View Full Details of Melwood GrangeI cannot say enough good things about Melwood Grange: the staff, the food, the large room, the cafe, absolutely everything. My mum has only been here for 9 days, but she was asked how she likes it and she said, "I love it!", and then she listed all the things she won't have to do anymore., like cooking and cleaning. She has enjoyed planting bulbs in the 1st floor garden, and is looking forward to watching her favourite films in the theatre. I am beyond happy that my mum has settled in so well. Thank you to all of the staff for being incredible.
In January 2025 my mother-in-law passed away peacefully at Melwood Grange Care Home in Royston. In the last few days of her life, I witnessed first-hand the marvellous care and affection the staff gave her. She was always a character, vocal about her needs and not always patient! Although she could be challenging at times, the staff managed her so brilliantly and with such calmness. The manager, carers, kitchen and housekeeping staff all went the extra mile for her. She happily recounted all the special things they did for her and that made her feel special, cared for and most important of all, heard. Above all else, it was the interaction and genuine care she received, that made all the staff her 'family' for the past 5 1/2 years. My family and I cannot thank the staff enough for allowing us to pass our precious family member into their loving care. We will always champion the work of your care workers, they are all exceptional.
Beautiful place. Lovely selection of facilities staff cheerful and extremely helpful room reasonable size and very comfortable
I spent 2 weeks at Melwood, to provide some respite for my wife, who has been looking for after me following a cancer diagnosis. I believe I was the first tenant of room no. 1. I was extremely impressed by the building and nice staff - with very slight problems being due to bedding - in kitchen (breakfast an hour late every day). Things were already improving when I left. I certainly hope they have a vacancy cover I need full-time care.
I came to Melwood Grange in January 2025, it was a shock to be honest but I had become unwell and was making my condition worse by medicine errors! I find the staff to be so caring and thoughtful. They made me realise we need help sometimes, it is no shame! They do anything and everything with a smile and a good heart. I thought I would be lonely but the staff take the time to chat + befriend is. The home is filling up very fast. The meals are really good and lots of it! Lost 3 stone before I came here, down to 7 stone, but putting weight on well. Staff keep popping in to say hello which is lovely! Thank you
My mother was always against going to a care home. She had five weeks in hospital before transferring to Melwood Grange. On my visits, she has told me that she should have done it sooner as the care and social interaction has been very good fr her. She loves all the staff as they are so kind and considerate and loves to join in with the activities and entertainment. She looks ten years younger since being in your care and we are able to holiday knowing she is happy and being well looked after.
My mother has been in your care for a few years now, firstly Richard Cox, then Melwood Grange. The care has always been so good. My mother is not the easiest of people to care for. But all of the staff are so very good with her.
