View Full Details of Manor HouseThe care home manager was very helpful in getting my husband transferred from the hospital where he had developed a grade 3 sore. This subsequently healed under the care and monitoring at Manor House. Each individual was nothing short of excellent in the care and support they offered - the only factor which stopped us choosing excellent for the rating was a period of staff turnover which meant the remaining staff, through no fault of their own, often seemed stretched. Despite this, we have nothing but praise for their care and attentiveness, in particular the support offered towards the end of my husband's life, towards him and the whole family.
All staff at Manor House are fantastic with my nanny and I have total peace of mind knowing she is cared for to a very high standard. One of the staff is particularly special with my nanny and on days that Nanny isn't doing so well she works magic with her in a kind and gentle way. Thank you Manor House.
My mum has been living at The Manor for 4 and a half years. From her very first day there, she has been treated with the utmost care, respect and love. Time is taken to make sure she eats and drinks well, however long that may take. The team take joy in her happiness; dressing her well and appropriately. They even do her nails to make her feel special. The Manor has varied and regular activities including special events such as a Christmas outing to the Cathedral and a Christmas and summer party that relatives can join in. On their birthday, the residents are treated to a fabulous cake. Being 200 miles away, good communication is essential. We have found the communication to be outstanding. If there is any concern, we are notified promptly. The entire team treat Mum and all residents as their own family and, indeed, the team at The Manor has become our extended family! Over the last two years, Mum's Dementia has worsened but the management team have supported me as I adjust to this.
We were reluctant to move Mum to a care home but knew we had no choice as she was no longer safe in her own home, from the moment Mum stepped in the door she slotted in perfectly and was made so welcome. We never imagined we would walk away feeling happy but we did as we knew mum was in safe hands. All the team at Manor House are fantastic from the domestic workers through to management. They are constantly getting the residents involved in activities and there's always a party going on for some celebration and the food is on another level, it is so good. We can't express how thankful we are to all the team for making Mum's few months that she was there so enjoyable and in Mum's last few weeks caring for her and us, her family. We will always be forever grateful for the kindness that was shown to us all.
Mum has been at Manor House for nearly a year and I'm really happy to report that she is well cared for, safe and happy. It was a hard decision to move Mum into a care home but her dementia meant that she needed care that we just couldn't give at home. It was a really difficult start for her and the rest of the family, given that she lost her husband of 63 years and we lost a father in the first week of her moving in. The staff and management have been so caring and helpful in getting her settled in and, although it took time, she now loves being there. From a relative's point of view, the staff are always pleased to see you and they keep you updated with any medical changes. They always have smiles on their faces. And they make a real effort with daily activities to keep them entertained and stimulated. Mum has been taken on a few trips away from the home and the staff have put on multiple parties (Easter, Summer, Christmas etc) which residents and relatives have enjoyed.
Mum who has dementia took up residence at Manor House in the Summer of 2024 and we as a family have been blown away by the care she has received at Manor House. Mum is well cared for by an amazing team and has settled in well. She has a lot of interaction with the staff who can often be found dancing with Mum in the lounges and I am always greeted by warm friendly staff who can answer any questions and update me on how Mum has been that day. She is well cared for, the food always looks delicious and of good quality and they always make sure mum has regular drinks throughout the day and she has eaten her meals. Excellent home and we are so grateful our mum is in a safe warm environment where she can be herself.
Manor House staff was very kind and helpful when my friend was in respite care recently. They looked after her very well. The room which she used was a good size, with a lovely outlook onto gardens. She enjoyed the food too.
My uncle went to Manor House for respite care because of health issues this extended to a few months. He was so well cared for, so happy to be there, that he decided to become a permanent resident. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. There was always something going on and he was always included. He loved his room which was always clean and tidy as was he. My thanks to the staff for their quality of care and support of him.
My friend whom I have known for over 50 years and cared for over the last 15 years became a resident at Manor House in May 2023 due to deteriorating ability to care for herself. I found Manor House when I was looking locally to ensure I could visit her easily. My friend has received excellent care and attention over her time there. The home is always clean, never smells anything other than pleasant. My friend's care is personalised, she has all her specific needs and desires met. Manor House has a strong management team, stable cohort of staff and they keep me informed of everything involving my friend. The staff are all polite and efficient. My friend speaks highly of all of them. The food is hot and varied. At almost 93, my friend's health has been excellent throughout her stay here. I would highly recommend it. As a nurse myself I am delighted at the care and attention she receives. I would like to thank all the staff for their care and compassion.
I am forever grateful that we found Manor House for Mum when she was no longer able to live on her own. There was always a lovely, positive, calm atmosphere whenever we visited. Mum had a super room which gave her plenty of space but was cosy. It was always kept spotless and tidy (as was Mum!). Mum enjoyed being with the other residents and joined in the activities. She formed strong bonds of trust and mutual respect with the staff who were always welcoming at our visits (extending that welcome to visits from Mum's dog too). The standard of communication with the home was amazing, telephone answered within a few rings, feedback given in a timely manner following any medical visits etc. I felt completely confident that I was being kept informed about what was happening in Mum's life and knew that she was in very capable hands, receiving the best care possible. My thanks to the staff for their attention and concern, they increased Mum's quality of life for her last few weeks.
My Mum was given a room here while waiting for an assessment. The staff are all so caring, professional, kind and friendly every time we see them. My mum has been mostly happy and has enjoyed activities, especially a good knees up for Mother's Day. The place is always clean, and all the staff are friendly and happy to see us. They work hard but always have time for any questions or concerns we may have. Mum loves the salon and enjoys being out in the lovely gardens. All in all, a great safe place for loved ones.
My aunt went in for respite (albeit reluctantly) on 23rd December. When she went in she had a very negative attitude towards care homes and here we are in February and she is going to make it her permanent home. I can only put this down to the excellent care staff and management making her feel so happy and comfortable. The home has such a welcoming atmosphere and everywhere is very clean. Speaking to other residents they all seem happy and content, they have activities every day if they want to join in. I’m amazed at how well my aunt has settled in and is enjoying living there.
All the staff are so friendly and approachable, they are so happy and work hard to give all the residents care, love and attention. There is always a happy atmosphere and it feels like a family home. We regard ourselves very lucky that Dad is so well cared for and happy. We are kept updated at all times of his medical conditions and are reassured that he is always well looked after. Thanks to all the staff.
Mum, who has dementia and limited mobility, was admitted to Manor House in April 2023. The decision to move Mum from her home of 35 years was one of the toughest and emotionally stressful decisions for our family. We needn’t have worried. Mum settled into Manor Lodge straight away, she was welcomed with open arms by all the staff, as were our family. It is obvious to us that she is very happy in her “new home”, she is well cared for, loved and has good social interaction with the staff and other residents. It is a joy to see Mum smile and tuck into the delicious meals and snacks that are provided. It’s not just Mum that Manor House interacts with, they have always embraced our family, and that is the essence of the excellent care provided, care for all. None of Mum’s requirements could be achieved without the amazing staff, they are a wonderful team and work so hard to ensure that Mum’s needs are met. Our toughest family decision turned out to be one of the best decisions!
I cannot recommend Manor House and Lodge highly enough. As a member of a large family of 7 siblings, we feel blessed to have been able to move our mum from her own lovely home, to a new caring and stimulating home, where she is so happy, better cared for round the clock, and in a calm, safe environment. I am always welcomed with a smile, by every member of staff and nothing is too much trouble for them to accommodate. The fun and camaraderie we all had at the Christmas Party was exceptional and being amongst the other residents, their family members and the care staff, singing carols together was delightful. The manager, leading her staff, goes above and beyond to ensure the home is bright, happy and so welcoming and it takes a lot of the stress and worry away from visiting a loved one who can no longer be cared for in their own home. Any query about mum's health etc, is answered sensitively and you know that any issue will be followed up promptly and appropriately. Huge thanks.
Lovely atmosphere and everyone is always so kind, friendly, caring and welcome. The place is very clean and well-maintained. I am very happy with the care that my beloved friend gets - every single time I come to visit her, I see her being happy, safe and well cared for. This is an outstandingly good care home in my opinion.
My 98-year-old mother has been living at Manor House for the past 16 months. During that time she has been continuously treated with courtesy, humour, respect and professional and caring support. She is safe and well looked after physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. She has developed a rapport with staff where she can laugh and enjoy their company. She is in the best place. All the staff are outstanding, especially the managers. I am made to feel welcome every time I visit my mum. The home keeps me regularly informed of any issues and I trust the team completely if any decisions have to be made. I can turn up unannounced and whoever answers the door can tell me exactly how my mother is and where I can find her. Manor House exudes a warmth and welcome to residents and visitors alike. I wholeheartedly endorse Manor House and Lodge as an outstanding residential home that offers dignified and professional care for the residents. A massive thank you to all the staff.
Mum went into Manor House in December 2023 on respite care after a stay in hospital and has since decided to become a permanent resident. During my visits, I have found the home to be warm and welcoming with cheerful and helpful members of staff who actively engage with Mum and have her best interests at heart.
Our Mum has recently gone into Manor House after receiving care at home 4 times daily for the last few months for her Dementia and Parkinson’s. She seems really happy and settling well. She is enjoying the food and especially the activities as she likes to be kept active and busy. Mum and I find the staff are really friendly, helpful and caring. The home is very clean and tidy. The stress and worry Mum always had in her face seems to have disappeared and we no longer have to worry that she isn’t safe now she is being cared for at Manor House. Thank you.
My mum came to Manor House in April 2023. Mum was an emergency admission and her dementia and other complex mental health needs meant she needed full-time care. Since she arrived she has gained weight (was severely underweight on entry), she smiles and laughs again, she has made friends and every now and then she has a witty comment to share also. Moving Mum into a home was one of the hardest decisions I had to make as Mum has always been so ferociously independent, and which home was even more difficult. A main point for me is Manor House doesn't use agency staff so all the team get to know the residents and treat them as individuals. For my mum, this has been so important as she doesn't feel safe around people she doesn't know/recognise. I am able to come and go (within reasonable daytime hours) so I can happily just drop in when passing or nearby. I have always found Mum happy, content and comfortable. Manor House has been outstanding.
