View Full Details of Braydeston CourtMy mother was a resident at Braydstone Court, Brundall. She was there for about seven years until sadly passing away November 2024. Whilst the building is older and a little imposing from the outside, the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. Visiting is a relaxed affair and all the staff are very friendly and available to discuss any problems. I was always kept updated on her care and needs. My mum was Spanish and on her birthday one year, the home threw a Spanish-themed party for her. From my observations, all the residents are treated with respect and consideration. Mum wasn't the most accommodating of people but she never had a bad word to say about any of the staff or the home. During the last three weeks of Mum's life, the home was in constant contact, keeping me aware of any changes etc., which was important as I live a long way out of the area.
We are very happy; we have been made very welcome. Dad has settled really well, our overall experience has been positive. Everyone has been very helpful and we have been kept well informed of Dad's care.
Braydestone Court is a bright and cheerful place. There is nice background music creating a relaxed atmosphere and activities to bring interest to each day. There are plenty of windows for natural light and views out to the garden. There are different areas downstairs that allow my mum to keep active and move around safely. Mum takes me to see her carers who she describes as lovely and the manager is accessible and reassuring. Although I was very anxious to see my mum go into a care home, I can see by her smiling face and clean and tidy appearance that she is being well fed and looked after. Kind regards.
Mum has only been here for a few months, but the staff are lovely and caring and I am kept well informed of her care and needs I am always welcomed when I come to visit. Would benefit from a few more activities to keep them entertained.
My mother has been a resident for almost 3 years and over that time I have seen a gradual improvement in the appearance of the home through general maintenance and upgrading of facilities. Mum appears generally quite content with how she is looked after. She often comments on the food which more often than not she likes and the standard of cleanliness, which has always been important to her. She engages with most staff and it's nice to see her smile when she recognises the staff she likes.
My brother has been made welcome from the day he arrived. His carers have been kind and friendly and in tune with his character and his needs. He has settled really well. He enjoys his meals and his medical needs have been well met.
One of the hardest things to do in life was made so much easier by the lovely staff at Braydeston Court. They welcome you and your loved one into the home with open arms. They are all happy smiling people who do their utmost best to provide care 24/7. The place itself has a warm and cosy vibe. And the cafe is lovely. I visit at least three times a week and am always welcomed with a smile from one of the lovely team. They will call you, to keep you up to date with any info on your loved one. They have games, activities and entertainment too. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. In the summer, the garden is lovely, with a large grass area and seating. The food is varied and they put the menu up daily on the board. So glad to have found the best place for my mum.
These guys are just the best, they are so caring and attentive. I couldn't ask for better people to be looking after my gran. They look after us as relatives as well, I get cups of tea and even got treated to pancakes on pancake day! Thank you all so much for everything you do, you're all wonderful. Gran is so happy and so well looked after which is all we could wish for.
All your fears about what residential care might look like melt away as soon as you go into Braydeston Court. The wonderful team of carers create a warm, caring, safe environment for their residents, and are so welcoming to their relatives. It’s all the reassurance we needed to entrust our mum to their care, and she is so happy and settled there. Highly recommended.
I have visited this care home over the past few months and have noted a positive atmosphere in the home, from the entrance through the lounge and dining area, there is often laughter and singing amongst residents which is lovely. The decor is fresh and gives a relaxed atmosphere for residents. Staff appear to go about their business with care and cheerfulness. There is a new cafe which has been developed and this is a lovely area for residents to meet with their families. This care home offers a truly caring environment for loved ones.
I am very pleased with my choice of Shiels Court to care for my husband. The grounds are well maintained, pleasant and secure. Upon entry, there is an impression of airy light clean rooms. Adequately comfortably furnished, with many caring staff available to cater for needs etc. There is meticulous care taken over personal records, having viewed them myself. I spent six hours at the home, and nothing caused me concern for my husbands' care.
My Mum has been cared for at Shiels Court 2 1/2 years now. She has dementia and without medication can be violent. The staff are very good, patient and caring. Always ready to listen if we have any concerns. They have activities most days e.g. craft work, music which can help stimulate people with dementia. It has been decorated throughout and there are trips out for residents. I would recommend Shiels Court to any family looking for a lovely place with caring staff for their loved one to stay. Thank you for looking after my Mum.
I believe Mother is in the right home for her needs. Lots of improvements in the last eighteen months and getting better as it should do. They always keep us informed as and when problems occur.
My mother-in-law has been living in Shiels Court for 5 months and we are very happy with the care she receives. The staff are all professional and very caring. We have witnessed at first hand how they sympathetically handled a new resident who wanted to go home, they were very calm and kind.
My mum has been in Shiels Court since beginning of January 2017. The whole situation was not nice but the staff at Shiels Court could not have been more helpful. The service they provide is very good and when I came to terms of my mum being in a care home I could not ask for a better place. The hardest thing is coming to terms with it. Thanks, Shiels Court.
My experience of this care home when entering first time, what a content happy home. The staff are always on hand if there's a problem, they make our family feel very welcome. My mother-in-law is content and made friends with staff and patients. I have nothing negative to say.
My Mum has been at Shields Court for around 8 months and we are so pleased we found Shields Court for her. On our first visit, we felt that it was more like a 'persons home' where as some care homes feel very clinical and depressing. The staff are very welcoming and it's good that you can visit at anytime. We were worried that Mum wouldn't settle in very well as the temporary home she was moved into from hospital really unsettled her, however, we had no worries the staff soon settled Mum. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and we know Mum is safe and being looked after well.
Sheils Court's care of my father in law was exceptional. Management and staff without exception were kind, caring and knowledgeable about his dementia. Nothing was too much trouble and in my opinion, he had the best care we could have possibly got for him. Their open policy about visiting was reassuring and we called at all sorts of different times and saw that the care and facilities were never any different. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the whole place is clean and well kept. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
My great nan and great grandad both were in this care home and unfortunately, they passed away. I'm so glad they went to this care home the staff are incredible, they're all so caring and they felt like they were at home.
The standard of care given to my father over the 4 or so years he was a resident was nothing short of outstanding. I shall be eternally grateful to the staff for looking after him and his complex needs so well. They did exactly what the description of 'care' means they cared. The whole place residents and staff alike felt like one big family. The palliative care at the end for my father was wonderful. I thoroughly recommend Shiels Court Care Home to anyone with a relative with Alzheimer's.
