View Full Details of Abraham HouseBoth mum and the family have been supported well by the home staff in what has been a difficult time. Mum found it difficult to settle, however, the friendly approach and understanding of the staff was excellent. They listened to the family and got to know mum and how to deal with her distress. Mum is more settled and happy now, has made friends and is engaging the many activities. Family are always made to feel welcome.
I have found my wife is in a good place and well looked after, and I have found the staff very obliging. When I ring up, to find out how she is, the staff all say that she's ok, (had a big diner and gone to bedroom).
Staff are brilliant and patient with my Granddad, it’s been hard not seeing him as much as I would like to with Covid-19 but the girls who work there are amazing! One member of staff in particular is great with my Granddad, they have a good bond and all the rest of the staff from what I see are so lovely and helpful every time I call and visit.
My mother has been a resident of Abraham House for over 4 years and received excellent care throughout. As her condition has deteriorated mum has required increasing levels of nursing as well as dementia care. As a family, we’ve always been kept fully informed and updated as this care was adapted to Mums needs. During this Covid pandemic everyone’s lives have been made so difficult but from the start the manager and staff were prepared and put the safety of the residents as their number one priority. Not being able to visit his wife of 72 years has been so hard for my Dad but despite their increased workload the staff have always taken time to reassure him, chat and encourage his phone calls. They all treat him with genuine affection and now that limited visiting has recommenced recently made such a fuss of him on his birthday. We as a family are so very grateful for the wonderful care that Mum and Dad receive from all the staff at Abraham House.
My Mum is 99 and suffers from dementia, she has been at Abraham House for over 9 years and is very happy. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, and the care second to none - both physical and mental wellbeing is catered for in a caring and knowledgeable way. During Covid the restrictions have been very well managed, video call meetings from management with relatives to keep us up to date and talks with our individual relatives. Now visits are allowed, they are well managed to ensure everyone is kept safe.
I would just like to thank all the staff and management for taking care of my grandma during this covid19 pandemic. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you all. We have been stood from the outside, only to observe what's going on, we have put our trust in you to take care of our loved ones which you have. So for that, I am grateful, hopefully it won't be too much longer before I can come and see my grandma. Keep up the good work during these hard times.
Having access to this establishment for only one month. I am totally happy with things so far.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful! I’m so pleased we found Abraham House, all the staff are brilliant and lovely and they look after everyone really well. So happy. Thank you.
Fantastic care home. It’s like a big family. Great team who really care about the residents. Lots of things for residents to do as well. Really pleased with Abraham House. Everything good.
Simply the best. We are very pleased with the love and care and attention they give. The home is nice and clean and has a lovely homely feeling about it. We are always kept updated about what is going on. Relatives can visit anytime they want without restriction. Abraham House doesn’t have places come free very often and when they do they get snapped up really quick. If you get the chance just do it. Fantastic place.
All the staff are kind and caring and we know my mother-in-law is well looked after. Always a lovely atmosphere and we are happy with the level of personal care she receives. The meals are prepared to a high standard and my mother-in-law comments on how much she likes the food. We would definitely recommend Abraham House.
The care my mum receives is outstanding form the meals to personal care, the staff go above and beyond. To my family this is more than just a care home it's my mum's home and has a realy family feeling. Nothing is too much trouble and all my mum's needs are met daily.
My relative has been a resident for over 2 years from the beginning I was impressed by the pleasant and friendly atmosphere and the warm professional care and support of the residents. Any challenging behaviour is dealt with in a calm and caring manner and when appropriate with humour. Not only do the staff support the residents they are also supportive of relatives as I have experienced. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to others.
Great staff that are always calm and understanding with the residents which is very reassuring (as a relative). Everyone is friendly and although busy, they always have time to speak to residents and staff and help with any concerns as they arise. Thanks.
My mother has been a resident at this care home for almost two years and every time I have visited her, which is three or four times a week, I always find the staff very caring towards all the residents. Nothing is too much trouble for them, even when some of the residents are being awkward, they always find a way to get them to do the things they want them to do, in a quiet unassuming way.
My Mother in law's been a resident of Abraham House for three months. All the staff have been excellent from our initial enquiries about the home, to the assessment of my mother in law and subsequent admission. Abraham House has a homely atmosphere, several large windowed sitting rooms and a well-kept garden. Staff have taken time to try and get to know the person Mum was before she had Dementia and care of all the residents is carefully tailored to their individual needs. There are always staff members in all the rooms encouraging the residents to take part in activities and generally interacting with them and frequent entertainers etc who visit. Thanks to the very caring staff my Mother in law has settled well and it is so reassuring that she is in such a safe, caring environment. The Manager and all of the staff have been very empathic to our family throughout this difficult period which helped us enormously. We would have no hesitation in recommending Abraham House to other families.
My dad has Vascular Dementia that causes behaviour problems, anger, sadness, paranoia etc. We tried to place him in homes in and around Preston but with no luck. Then the manager of Abraham House came along and gave my dad a place in her home. He started to settle down well because he knew they really cared about him. The care he was given was wonderful. Then he had a fall and is now back in hospital and cannot go back to Abraham house. It's sad to see him now as he's had to leave the people he come to trust and care for him. You can do no better than this home, it's the best home for care and love in Preston. Thank you all xxxx
My parent has been at home for the past six years at Abraham House. It was chosen for the warmth of welcome and safe environment that it exhibits. The Nurses have always been open to listen and act quickly on any opinions and ideas we have expressed to improve the quality of my father's life. We are assured by the 24hour security and care given at Abraham House. We are encouraged and assisted to maintain as much independence for my father as possible with dignity. All staff without exception reflect loving kindness to their patients in trying difficult circumstances, which can be understood by the nature of the illnesses. The Nurses never forgetting the Loving Kindness which is of immeasurable value of which there is an abundance at Abraham House. I would like to commend the nurses. As again all who are involved in my father's care...Thank you.
My mother settled in well, the staff are friendly and approachable.
