View Full Details of Barchester Hall Park Care HomeFrom the enquiry about my dad, to when he left after 2 weeks of respite, the care home staff were outstanding. Always welcomed with a smile and the offer of fresh coffee and pastries. All the staff were helpful with my dad and couldn't do enough for him. It was like a 5 star holiday for him. Thank you to the care home manager for all your advice and always there to have a chat. I cannot thank you all enough for all the care you gave my dad while there, you are all stars.
Mum has been at Barchester Hall Park Care Home for twenty months. She has advanced dementia and lives on Memory Lane. The staff are wonderful with her and there are always lots of activities happening to keep her entertained. She is very happy there. The staff also look out for my dad, who has milder dementia, when he visits Mum. The way they are both treated gives me peace of mind that I made the right choice. The home has recently undergone a major refurbishment and looks fantastic. I would certainly recommend Hall Park for anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.
The home has been very kind to my mum as she entered residence at the home. The transition was smooth and they have been very supportive. The care, to date, has been good, considerate to my mum's needs and compassionate towards the family.
My mum celebrated her 104th birthday at Barchester Hall Park Care Home and had a fantastic day. The staff wanted her to receive at least 104 birthday cards and arranged with local nurseries and schools to make some. Along with the family and their contacts, Mum managed to get over 300 cards and we spent the afternoon opening them all, we had glitter everywhere. (The staff did a brilliant clean up afterwards). The home arranged for a couple of local nurseries to visit and bring birthday greetings and sang to her, also a performance of a musical was arranged, followed by a carol singsong. The family arranged for the local news to come along and film the day. The recording was shown the following day, lovely for Mum whilst promoting Hall Park. Mum had an emotional, enjoyable but tiring day and loved all the attention and her cake (made by the home's chef). Thank you Hall Park staff and residents for all that you did to make the day so special.
Mum and Dad have been at Barchester Hall Park Care Home for five months now. From our first contact with the home, we were made to feel very welcome. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a lovely atmosphere. Many of the staff have been there for several years which says a lot. I come from a nursing background so have high expectations of the care and can confirm the care provided is excellent. The staff, as well as looking after Mum and Dad. always enquire how we are when we visit and are always on hand to provide advice or support. The home is currently undergoing a major refurb and we have been kept up to date on progress.
A lovely team that looked after my grandad, he felt comfortable at hall park and was well looked after. Granddad used to love hot chocolate as his hot drink, the team would panic when they ran out and someone would go to the shop to get more. He used to say he felt like a VIP and he didn't know what he had done for them to be so nice.
Great, friendly staff.
We are very happy with Barchester Hall Park Care Home, there were a few teething problems at first but were resolved very quickly. We find the carers and management to be very professional and very caring of Mum. So overall, my sister and I are very happy. Mum has memory issues and gets lonely sometimes but carers are always checking on her and trying to persuade her to join in with activities.
I find the home very clean and tidy the staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much to ask for. The residents all appear to be happy and well looked after and if I was ever I was to go in to care this place would be on top of my list to go to.
Since my father has been here, he seems more content. All the staff are helpful and keep me informed of all things concerning my father.
Mum's now been at Hall Park for a couple of months and has settled in really well. All the staff are kind, caring and helpful and nothing seems too much trouble. Mum's encouraged to join in with the arranged activities, where she does her best, bearing in mind her poor sight and impaired hearing. I asked for a copy of the weekly activities programme and found this very helpful to both give Mum a heads up about what's on and find out what she's been up to between phone calls. Mum says the food is excellent (she loves her cream cakes and ice cream) and says she can't grumble about anything and nor can I.
There is always a happy, welcoming atmosphere when I visited my relative. The home is light, airy and comfortable. Whilst my relative does not always partake in activities, the staff always interact with residents. On good days, my relative and I enjoy walking in the garden and looking at the plants growing in spring and summer; the garden is very colourful. There is always something being celebrated when I visit. My relative is very happy at Hall Park. Thank you to all the staff.
Deciding to have a break from caring for my parent full-time myself was very difficult. I looked at several care options before approaching Barchester Hall Park Care Home for respite when I was encouraged to firstly visit Hall Park. I was made very welcome and the home was very calm and looked very clean. I was introduced to staff and residents, all appeared happy and very friendly. The decoration was nice. Carers came to visit my parent and I, in our home. I was very reassured the setting would be able to care for my parent. They did a thorough assessment on their needs. Currently, I have extended respite, my parent is very happy at Hall Park.
Mum moved here in January 2023 and has settled in well. The home is clean and presentable and staff seem friendly and professional although not always around to answer questions. I was hoping when we moved Mum here that there might be more communication between the home and family but as in the previous home, this doesn't happen. Overall, we are happy with Mum's care and would recommend Barchester Hall Park Care Home to others.
I came today as a visitor, I did volunteer for 2 years and did get a real feel for the place and being disabled myself I could sense the welcome, everyone was lovely it's like one big family. I went to visit my mama as she is having respite there at the moment and she is loving it! Every time I see her and ask how she is she always says that the people here are so lovely. I am happy she feels safe and happy. All the staff are lovely, they would go above and beyond. It's somewhere I'd go more often if I could, I told my mama we'll be top and tailing soon as I wish I could live there. I love this place and I highly recommend you give it a try if you are thinking for the future for your mum/dad and so on. Such a delightful and happy place, anyone is welcome! Thank you to the staff for making my mama so happy and to feel safe, appreciate it.
I enjoyed my week's respite very much. The staff seemed very happy in their work and that atmosphere spread throughout the whole home.
My father is 91 years old and was living at home alone after my mother died. His mobility was poor, after a minor op and a longer stay in the hospital than expected, his doctors advised us to put him on respite and suggested a few. We booked him into Hall Park Care Home, a week at a time after 6 weeks he did not want to go back home because he was happy with the care and the staff made him feel special which he loves.
My mum stayed at Hall Park Care Home for the first time whilst I had some carers respite. This was the first time I had left her overnight and she loved it as a resident. Her room and en-suite were spotless and the care home was spotless and tidy. The permanent staff were exceptionally kind and caring and the receptionist always greeted us with a welcoming smile. All the staff took an interest in Mum's welfare and her care plan was followed thoroughly. She was supported to shower, eat and drink and join in activities, as well as exercise. Her laundry was done beautifully and she even had her hair done by the hairdresser, which made her feel amazing. The food was exceptional and healthy and the entertainment was great, as Mum said she loved the singer. I feel really reassured to let Mum stay here again as the care is first class. Thank you to everyone.
My dad came to Hall Park Care Home for respite on the 04/10/22. We found the staff at the home to be very caring and compassionate. All the staff took an interest in Dad's welfare. His laundry was done beautifully. The senior carer provided us with the reassurance, and we knew Dad's Parkinsons medication was given on time, which is so important. The food was very good, even having supper in the evening. This is a first-rate care home which we would thoroughly recommend.
The review of my sister and all her medical, emotional needs and treatments. I found it to be very informative and gave me a clear understanding as to the complexities of people receiving care. The review was delivered in an informal, relaxed manor and I was particularly impressed with the overall knowledge about my sister and her needs, and the understanding of her condition.
