View Full Details of Chalcraft HallFrom the day she arrived my aunt was made to feel welcome. She was well looked after always looked clean and tidy and was very comfortable. There were plenty of activities going on to which she was encouraged to get involved and join in. Sadly after a few weeks she became unwell and after a stay in hospital returned to Chalcraft Hall where she was looked after until she died. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care she was given as she approached the end of her life. Nothing was too much trouble whatever the time of day or night.
Mum has stayed at Chalcraft Hall a number of times as a respite resident. It is such a comfort to know Mum is safe and well cared for while Dad recharges his batteries.
The staff at Chalcraft Hall genuinely cared for their clients both residents and the families of. Our mother spent her last few months at Chalcraft Hall and was treated with respect and compassion. The staff went out of their way to adapt to our mum’s needs and wants to personalise the care they gave her.
I am very pleased with Chalcraft Hall and the level of care provided for my mother. She is very happy and enjoys the routine and activities provided in the home. The manager and staff are very professional. always approachable and supportive and strive to provide a happy, homely and comfortable environment. The atmosphere in the home is peaceful and relaxing for the residents yet the staff are always available as required to provide help and support where necessary.
We were very happy that our Step-father was looked after in a highly professional and caring way whilst resident at Chalcraft Hall and would have no hesitation in recommending them to other families.
I reached crisis point with my husband and they responded magnificently. They took him straight away and made him feel very welcome - settled him down and the attention they gave him (a demanding patient) was wonderful. It was very reassuring to know that he was being so well looked after. I can never thank the staff enough for the way they looked after him.
As a family we were so lucky to have found this care home for my father. The staff are a wonderfully caring bunch of people run by an excellent manager. The warm and friendly care my father, who has dementia, received couldn't have been better. I would highly recommend Chalcraft Hall.
I am very satisfied with the care mum receives. The introduction of the Activities Co-ordinator is making a huge difference to the residents - well done. Improvements to furnishings/furniture have recently been made and are ongoing to ensure better standards of comfort for the residents.
As soon as we walked through the doors, we knew we had found the right care home for my 95-year-old mum. The cleanliness, activities, safety, care, dignity and staff were second to none. It felt like one big family home.
My late cousin's wife could not be in a better home. She has been there since October 2010. There have been changes in ownership and staff but fortunately, has not interrupted the care given. They understand her sad illness which is so common these days. It was fortunate that social services placed her in this home which specialises in dementia. We had to purchase a special bed on her behalf in May 2014, therefore making it easier for the staff to move her in and out of bed. They also have a hoist to move her into a wheelchair when needed. Obviously, this is costing her a lot of money, but she is not aware of this.
A friendly loving home.
Clothes seem to be a problem, especially underclothes that we keep on having to replace. Also sometimes she seems to be wearing things that do not belong to her. We feel perhaps her possessions are with another resident, including furniture, so a closer control of each resident's possessions might prove helpful.
This vibrant, friendly service has gone beyond the "call of duty" to make my mother-in-law feel at home. The staff are really caring and pull out all the stops to help their clients enjoy a productive, happy life. The home has a lovely feel to it, reflected from the clients who all seem to enjoy their lives as the staff team make the family feel, so they have the care but also the fun of being in a family setting together. If this service was a hotel I would give it five stars!!
My mother has spent the last 6 years in another residential home, but earlier this year they decided that they could no longer give her the care she needed as her Alzheimer's progressed. After looking around other homes that dealt with only dementia residents I visited Chalcraft Hall. From the moment the door was opened the friendliness, professionalism and care for both residents and their relatives were obvious. There are only 20+ residents and what seems like the same number of staff ! they are never left to their own devices and are supervised at all times . I take my mother out most days but each time I visit there is always drinks ( sometimes alcoholic !) being handed out with homemade cakes. Kay is in charge of entertainment and is always to be found dancing ,singing or doing quizzes with all the residents , not to mention the sing songs with a gentleman on a Thursday afternoon with his accordion. BRILLIANT ! I would Whole heartedly recommend checking it out I wish I had sooner
I know activities will be increased so when they do I would mark that section as excellent. We have been very happy with the care home, the cleanliness, staff and meals available. Mums room is very comfortable.
