View Full Details of Nyton HouseOutstanding! Great support from management and staff throughout for mum and the family. All the staff are very caring and work extremely hard to ensure the home is friendly and meets individual needs. The activities, for the residents, are wonderful and help them to interact socially mentally. Small numbers of residents in each area to help make it feel like home from home rather than they are just one of many. Thank you to all at Nyton House Highly recommend - 5 stars.
Mum has been a resident since 22nd November 2023. The attention to detail and the significant, one-to-one care she has received during that time has meant that my three brothers and I are confident she is in good and capable hands. The staff are vigilant and energetic which ensures Mum has the care she deserves and requires. The entertainment arranged is of excellent quality and the regular opportunities for Mum to be taken to church are valued highly.
Excellent care and attention. Always ready to listen to the concerns of relatives willing to go above and beyond.
I must express my enormous thanks and deep appreciation for the care my darling daddy received over the last 6 weeks and in the final days of his life at Nyton House. The staff were outstanding throughout and their genuine care and affection and deep respect for our father exceeded expectations. Not only was our father cared for with dignity and love, but my sister, mother and I were also cared for as we prepared to say goodbye to him. We were looked after fully during the last few days when we were with him. We had a room to rest in, freshly prepared meals provided and sympathetic and sensitive support to take the time to be his family aside from caring for him. I cannot praise Nyton House and everyone who makes this place such a beautiful serene place to end one's earthly journey. Thank you so very much.
I have known Nyton House for many years and was happy to recommend it unconditionally to my father who has now been a resident for two months. He used to spend most of the day snoozing in his chair but has now come to life again, as it were. He enjoys all the activities - music, poetry readings, talks about local history and numerous other subjects, and when I suggested visiting him on a particular afternoon, he said, 'No, we have a really fun quiz that day!'. The food is delicious and all homemade, and the staff welcome friends and family to join them at their meals. The care is second to none. My father loves nature and just to gaze out into the beautiful well-kept gardens gives him a real sense of peace. In his own words: 'I never imagined at this time in my life I could be so happy'.
My parents have been staying at Nyton House for a couple of months. Their health has been up and down during this time, as has their acceptance of needing care. The Nyton team have been very kind and patient throughout. Mum and Dad thoroughly enjoy the range of activities during weekdays and they usually love the home-cooked lunches, with the occasional glass of wine! The home and beautiful grounds are very comfortable and well-tended and they are looking forward to being able to spend more time in the gardens as the weather improves. We really like being able to visit them at any time, to try to replicate times we have previously spent together as a family. Many thanks to all the team at Nyton - kindness counts.
This is my second visit to Nyton. I have recommended it to several people known to me. I have compared it to a well-run and very comfortable country hotel. The atmosphere is calming. The staff are caring but not at all intrusive and the food is very good. There is a daily programme of visits and in-house events which provide opportunities for those who want or need social engagement. One is left in peace to decide whether or not one wishes to join in. The rooms provide the means for entertainment or 'work' with one's laptop. The rural surroundings contribute to a sense of peace and relaxation. The fact that the house is a period one contributes to a sense of permanence.
Our mum (89) spent eight weeks at Nyton recently on a convalescence basis. The staff, care, facilities and gardens were excellent. The activity programme was spot-on, and the food was great! Dad was able to visit anytime and was welcome to join in at mealtimes and take Mum out when possible, which made being separated a little easier. Mum made a good recovery and is now back home. We'd like to thank all at Nyton House for their help during a difficult period.
I have only recently started volunteering at Nyton House with my dog as a visiting therapy dog. I am happy to give my time freely to this lovely place. I see the people in the home treated with dignity and respect. Everyone is known well and cared for appropriately. There seems to be a full calendar of activities and visits outside of the home put on to stimulate and entertain the residents. In October I attended an extra session for a dog show, put on by the activities co-ordinator. It was such fun for the residents and dogs alike. I would have no hesitation having a close relative live here.
When my mother arrived at Nyton House her husband of 62 years, with whom she had a very happy marriage, had just died. She was unable to care for herself at home and had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. She was depressed and struggling and moving to a home was a difficult adjustment. The staff were patient with her and six months later she is very happy there! Her room is big, with big windows, the gardens are beautiful and as my mother is independent and likes to be involved, the staff include her in things like going to the library to pick out books. It is expensive, but I do not hesitate to recommend Nyton House as a good, safe, nurturing place for my 91-year-old mother to be. Knowing they are able to care for her kindly and with patience, communicating with her respectfully makes it all worth it. It is a very hard thing to see a beloved parent unable to care for themselves due to Alzheimer's. The people at Nyton really know what they are doing. Highly recommended.
Nyton House is an exceptional home as it provides loving care for all its residents. The staff give bespoke care ensuring that every need is met, taking time to ascertain what might make a resident more comfortable, this includes keeping minds active, so singing and activities are a priority in the home. A full program of activities are run, which often include family and friends, which are outstanding! I can honestly say if I need a care home in my future, Nyton House would be my number one choice, we couldn't ask for more for our Mum!
Wonderful time at the V.E. day party. Wonderful singer retelling the hits of wartime, the fifties and later. Lovely lunch and engaging conversation with residents and other visitors. Thank you!
Nyton House is a very comfortable and pleasant old country house set in very pleasant grounds. The food is excellent and cooked in home, served to meet the patient's wishes. A very good programme of interesting entertainment and outside visits is provided. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this care home.
Nyton House care staff have looked after and cared for my wife for the past eighteen months. I couldn't ask for a more caring and loving group of carers. They do go above and beyond any required and needed respect and dignity for their residents. I am able to visit anytime I want to and always receive an up-to-minute report on her condition and well-being and receive regular updates either by email or phone. She is coming to the end of her life but their concern for comfort and care is the best there is and can be.
During my recent visit I encountered several of the staff at Nyton House, they were all very welcoming and informative during my visit. I was offered a hot drink and had an update on my aunt's current care plan. Contact details were checked to ensure things haven't changed. My great-aunt was spoken to with respect and I could see how nurturing and attentive the staff were to her needs. My great-aunt speaks very highly of her experience at Nyton House and I feel at ease knowing she has such wonderful people caring for her.
The most lovely care home. Very good carers. Food is beautiful and colourful. Couldn't fault it.
My mother moved into Nyton House Residential Care Home in early March 2022. She took a few weeks to settle in. All the staff were very helpful and understanding in getting her settled. I visit her every week and she is very happy. She said Monday that all the staff are so kind and it feels like one big family. They all really do care, it truly is a care home!
Our father moved into Nyton House care home in March 2020 and into their dementia unit in January 2021. In May we were told to find a new setting for him due to his dementia-related anger. He is now in different residential care which is centred around the effective management of his illness. This was a traumatic change for him and extremely difficult for us. We thank the care staff at Nyton who worked tirelessly helping Dad. We also suggest that the management label their dementia unit as a centre for mild to moderate dementia and that their communication skills are improved: angry emails in response to our father’s actions were unhelpful and the failure to take on information regarding his care and condition was disappointing. We were put under increasing pressure to remove him during our frantic search for different care. We are now pleased and relieved with the support he has and again thank all the carers at Nyton for their help and concerns for his future. We wish them well.
The care given to my father at Nyton House was outstanding. It was a challenging time for my father and they managed his situation very well, affording him as much dignity as possible and always with great kindness. Their approach to care is original and truly exceptional, the food is delicious, their personal belongings looked after with respect, it really is about as close to being at home as you could hope for. A delightful atmosphere where every single person who works there greets you with a smile and takes an interest. If you are lucky enough to find a space at Nyton when you need it, don't hesitate. It may be expensive but it is money very well spent.
The owner and staff could not have been kinder or more helpful to me and my husband, particularly at the height of the pandemic. He had a lovely room opening onto the garden which he enjoyed once he became mobile. The chef was very obliging in sourcing food he requested and all the staff could not have been more kind, attentive and diligent, particularly in regard to his medicines and needs. The owner of Nyton House was very accessible, experienced and knowledgeable about her patients and always pro-actively looking after everyone in her care. There was always a welcome for visitors during a very difficult time for care homes and I was always very reassured of my husband's care in a lovely home setting with beautiful gardens and grounds.
