View Full Details of Bromford Lane Care CentreThank you to all the Dementia staff Nurses and care staff at Bromford Lane Care Centre for the care provided to my Dad. Dad stayed in an EAB (enhanced assessment beds) capacity on his journey towards a permanent placement elsewhere nearer his family. Because of the EAB capacity, Mum had access to NHS physios approximately three times a week who were fantastic with dad and aided in him rehab from receiving all care in bed to being able to sit out and engage again. I can't thank them enough for that. Thank you to the EAB manager and the EAB Deputy who went above and beyond, they were always available to help. EAB Deputy Manager would greet with a smile she would give Dad a hug and sit chat to him. It has been a difficult time for Dad and seeing your genuine enthusiasm about each step in his improvement won't be forgotten - thank you. Thank you to another member of staff (Family Liaison), in particular, for helping us when things weren't running smoothly and for your kindness.
My dad was a resident between Dec 24 to Mar 25 on an emergency bed. During his stay here the staff have been lovely to my dad and treated him with nothing but kindness. I would like to say a special thank you to " S" and "D" from management for all their guidance and support. This process is totally new to me and they have been a great help.
I am aware that placing a loved one in to care is an incredible emotional decision so wanted to update that review which i hope gives some comfort to this placing loved ones at BLCH. The care, the catering, the support staff & care workers remain above and beyond excellent. My father has been at the Home since 5/24 & I personally, & as a family cannot fault the care & respect shown to my father. The daily activities are engaging & appropriate for those suffering with dementia, the staff know my father & the other residents by their names & engage with them in a thoroughly appropriate way, they show great respect to all residents & are supportive & respectful of the family on each visit. From the Home manager to the catering team, care staff, nursing team, facilities team, housekeeping & catering staff ( the food is excellent!! ) I can only give the highest possible rating
I am writing to formally raise serious concerns regarding the welfare of residents and the severe lack of staffing at Bromford care home which is resulting in patient neglect and putting lives at risk. The level of care being provided is unacceptable, and I am particularly disturbed by an incident I witnessed on Mar 7, 2025, that exemplifies the gravity of the situation. Incident on Mar 7, 2025 - Elderly Woman in Critical Condition Due to Neglect. On this date, I was visiting my mother, who is currently residing at your facility for assessment. Residents Left Unattended for Long Periods - Patients who require assistance with mobility, toileting, feeding, and medication administration are often left waiting for unacceptably long times, leading to distress, discomfort, and potential health Medical Emergencies Not Handled Promptly - As evidenced by the incident on Mar 7, even critical situations are not addressed with the urgency they require, putting lives at risk.
We have known the residents and staff at Bromford Lane for about 4 years. I'm always surprised by how caring and engaged the staff are with the service users and friends/family. We are often offered tea and biscuits and welcomed.
Thank you to all the nursing and care staff at Bromford Lane Care Centre for the care provided to my mum. Mum stayed in an EAB (enhanced assessment beds) capacity on her journey towards a permanent placement elsewhere nearer her family. I was initially concerned about this extra step in the process but I can honestly say that Mum's condition improved significantly during her stay there. Because of the EAB capacity, Mum had access to NHS physios approximately three times a week who were fantastic with Mum and aided in her rehab from receiving all care in bed to being able to sit out and engage again. I can't thank them enough for that. Thank you to the managers of the EAB who went above and beyond, providing an appropriate recliner for Mum to make this huge improvement possible. It has been a difficult time for Mum and seeing your genuine enthusiasm about each step in her improvement won't be forgotten - thank you. Thank you to another member of staff, in particular, for helping us when things weren't running smoothly and for your kindness.
Thank you to Bromford Lane Care Centre, especially the nursing unit for the care they provided to my mum over the last 4 1/2 years that she was with you until she sadly passed away in May. You became Mum's Bromford family when her family couldn't be with her and we knew she was in safe hands. Mum was happy with you and made friends and it was lovely to watch the videos with her taking part in the activities, especially the sing-alongs. Thank you all for caring.
This is the first time we have ever used a care home so I have nothing to compare it to but our experience has been very positive, it seems the care workers have an incredibly difficult job but they do it with care and compassion and most importantly, with kindness. I have spent over 2 hours there every evening for the last couple of weeks and in that time, my mom has got a lot better and will be coming home on Thursday. I hope we don't have to use a care home in the future but if we do I would be very happy to use Bromford Lane Care Centre. Thank you to all the staff.
I am happy with my daughter's care.
My brother had a previously arranged cardiology appointment at the hospital on 3rd May, when he was resident. I rang to arrange for him to be taken - but he wasn't! I only found out when the consultant's secretary rang later, and arranged an alternative appointment. I haven't had any explanation of why this didn't happen. In June, he was notified that he needed a Covid booster jab. I notified the home, and it was being referred to the visiting GP the next day, I was assured. When I checked with my brother at the weekend, nothing had happened, so he missed the deadline.
My mom came to Bromford Lane Care Centre from hospital. She came there to be assessed. Even though Mom didn't want to be there, the staff made her very welcome. The staff took Mom outside for a cigarette whenever they had time which she liked. We were happy with the care and compassion that was given to Mom. We couldn't fault anything at the home and thank everyone for what they did for Mom.
Can I just say what an outstanding home for my father, the team of management and care providers go above and beyond to make my father feel safe, secure and very much valued, I couldn't have wished for better care.
I found this care centre to be clean and well run. The staff were friendly and helpful and attentive to the needs of the resident.
We are so grateful for the care given to our mother by all the staff. We are especially thankful to the manager who organised taking our mother to see her husband in hospital at very short notice, following his end-of-life diagnosis, as well as the care assistant who dropped everything to take her there and stay with her. This level of care exceeded our expectations and was very much appreciated.
Great. Good. Helpful.
I feel my dad is content and cared for by the staff. They make a point of keeping us posted on Dad.
Overall experience has been poor. 1. Loss of dentures. 2. Left undress in urine. 3. Left in undignified ways in uncomfortable positions. 4. Having to chase staff to carry out personal care/continence care. 5. Patients just left. Unfortunately, for a patient at end stages of dementia, the care is not good enough.
My dad was transferred to Bromford from hospital in May 2023 after being diagnosed with vascular dementia and having limited mobility. The management of Bromford are exemplary as, after a traumatic start (transfer from hospital was not handled well), everything that they promised was carried through and implemented. The staff and management at Bromford are always supportive and helpful and any issue is handled and resolved quickly. Following lengthy local authority paperwork and negotiation, the management team at Bromford were always supportive and offered invaluable advice and guidance. My dad is settled and didn’t want to leave when given the choice as the care he receives is fantastic. There is an activities team on site who arrange activities and special events every day to ensure that residents are included and stimulated. Whilst we would prefer my dad to be well and at home, the care he receives at Bromford is amazing and the team look out for my mom’s welfare too, which is invaluable.
My dad was here for 2 months after being discharged from the hospital with dementia. It is shocking they have a good rating. I waited over 15 minutes to get in once and had to call them to say I'm at the door. There is an office with a window which can see you arrive at the front door and many times they see me buzzing and just let me wait before they come out to let me in. When they eventually let you in they don't even say hello, just open the door and walk off. I asked one of the workers what's it like working here and she said "It is bad" I wish she lied but she couldn't even do that for me. My dad fell a lot when he first got there and had bruises, they said he was trying to sit down and missed the chair. It's hard to say if they were abusing him or not because he would do this sometimes but they should be helping him sit down. The food is worse than school dinners. They don't do any activities, they make them all sit in the lounge all day while heavily drugged up. They lost many of his items.
We have had an excellent experience at Bradford Lane. The staff are all very friendly and willing to discuss the process of assessment. I feel that Dad is very well looked after and is very safe.
