View Full Details of Doneraile Residential Care HomeLovely friendly home with friendly staff always happy to help. Entertainment for the residents games, singing and entertainers coming into the home. Lovely meals are served daily. A sunny garden to sit in.
Dad lived independently keeping active through swimming and walking until last year when his health deteriorated when he needed a short period in hospital. He subsequently came to Doneraile, initially for respite care, in September '24. The staff were so welcoming and compassionate that you immediately felt 'at home'. Dad soon settled in, taking part in the activities and enjoying the company of the friendly staff and residents. Due to dad's continued vulnerability it was evident that independent living was no longer an option. He is very happy and content to be a permanent resident at Doneraile and he continues to thrive with the excellent and professional care that dad receives.
My aunt, has been a resident at Doneraile for many years now; as her needs have increased, particularly over the last year, these have been met with a professional, caring and compassionate approach. Respect is always demonstrated by the senior and junior carers, alongside maintaining her dignity. Although, my aunt, is very often happy with her own company, she is always encouraged to join in many of the activities, particularly those, that are of particular interest to her, such as the musical entertainment, visiting pets. The home is always very clean and tidy and at meal times, the dining room provides a pleasant place for the residents, to have their meals and socialise, if they wish? I would definitely recommend Doneraile to those who are looking for a residential care home, fir a relative or friend
My mum has lived at Doneraile for over 3 years now. Mum has a lovely, light, spacious room with her own pictures to remind her of home. Mum has received excellent care whilst living at Doneraile and has known the same carers for a number of years. I am kept well informed of any changes to mum's care and have enjoyed events for family and friends throughout the year. Mum enjoys taking part in the daily activities and has even been on several local trips out. I would recommend Doneraile to anyone looking for a care home for a family member.
We are very pleased with the care Mum receives. Her room is spacious and the whole home is clean and well-kept. All the rooms and communal areas have been decorated and re-carpeted in the last year. The staff are excellent. The activities offered are varied and interesting. The family are always welcomed and invited to parties and events.
I can't rate Doneraile high enough, the staff and management made my partner so welcome and looked after him with care respect and kindness. They put my mind at ease the way they kept me informed and the amount of support they gave me and my partner. My partner felt comfortable and happy I have not seen him like this in years. I just want to say a very big thank you to everyone that helped and made his stay a comfortable and happy stay.
My wife was in Doneraile from May 2024 to September 2024, when she sadly passed away. The care and support were excellent. My wife loved the sing-song times and the music. The staff are excellent, and nothing is too much to do for the care they give. My mum was also in Doneraile from 2000 to 2002.
My wife suffered from dementia that was getting hard to manage, so she came to Doneraile for 2 weeks' respite. Having been unhappy at our home, she was much happier there. We had some lovely times when I visited. Sadly she had a fatal stroke towards the end of the fortnight. The care home is very well run. Cleanliness, comfort, care, and food are all good. The big thing is that care is good. The staff are all very helpful. The only slight downside is that space in the communal rooms is a bit limited, but that wouldn't stop me coming back.
Friendly, happy with carers, loved the choir and Reverend.
Nice big room and the food was ok, not always to my taste! Staff absolutely brilliant, couldn't do enough for me! Always checking to see if all was ok and if I needed anything. Made a couple of friends which was nice!
The home is spacious and peaceful on arrival. It is clean with excellent facilities for example stair lifts. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and patient. I will use Doneraile again when the need arises.
Dad was so well cared for at Doneraile where he spent the last weeks of his life. He was made welcome from day 1 and the staff did everything they possibly could to enable him to join in with daily life in the home. As his health deteriorated they cared for him with professionalism but also compassion. They engaged with him and tuned in to his sense of humour, never forgetting the character of the person they were caring for. I found the staff to be helpful and approachable - I could ring them anytime and they were honest and open with me. They were so supportive to me when Dad passed away and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did.
My uncle went into the home after falling at home and needing recovery time. He was their for 4 weeks. The home couldn’t have been more attentive. The staff was lovely and caring and the food was good. Families were welcomed and my uncle loved the visits from the animal man. The home is in the process of redecoration and has a fresh modern feel.
My mum had a period of recuperative care at Doneraile Care Home after a hip operation. They cared wonderfully for Mum until she was ready to return home. Always plenty of entertainment for the guests and the food was delicious and wholesome. The staff were warm and welcoming upon arrival as a visitor, there is always a member of staff on hand to answer any questions we had. I can't rate this care home highly enough!
Excellent - well looked after. Nothing to complain.
My relative has been in respite care at Doneraile Care Home for 8 weeks. The staff have been warm and welcoming; upon arrival as a visitor, there is always a member of staff on hand. Advice from staff is given in a timely and professional manner - giving the impression that the patient is valued and treated with respect. Meals are much enjoyed by my relative and she enjoys the caring atmosphere.
Although our father was only there a short time, he was cared for in a compassionate and caring environment. The care home staff were very diligent and proactive in identifying his illness and the need for urgent medical care.
My mother-in-law was met by both the new manager and some familiar faces. Made very welcome by everyone. The team looked after her very well whilst allowing her that important little piece of independence. She felt that people listened to her and tried to look after her individual needs. The best way to sum this up is to confirm that she would be happy to return!
I have always dreaded the thought of going into any sort of 'home' but I have been very happy here. I have been allowed to stay in my own room, which has meant a lot to me as I do not enjoy any sort of communal experience. Being able to have privacy and quietness is very important to me. I have found the staff here very helpful and the food is excellent. I hate cooking but love food!
My mother resided at Doneraile Residential Care Home from March 2020 through to her passing in December 2022. She suffered from dementia. Throughout her stay, the staff and management at Doneraile Care Home were exemplary. They demonstrated compassionate and professional care on a daily basis throughout. The onset of covid and all that came with it presented many new and unforeseen difficulties and I think the entire Doneraile team under excellent management dealt with a difficult situation very well.
