View Full Details of Squeaks HouseI find Squeaks to be very friendly, extremely helpful and good at keeping us updated on all aspects of Mum's care. Very clean. I find it very hard to find fault with Squeaks, and the carers. The staff are very caring, and nothing is too much bother.
If my dad had been able to choose where he lived he would have picked his own home. Sadly, his care needs now mean that isn't an option anymore, and so he is now a resident of Squeaks House. Outwardly some of the decor is tired and the layout of the building less than ideal, but these criticisms are hugely outweighed by the environment created by the dedicated and genuinely caring staff. He is always treated with kindness and respect, and I know that, whenever possible, his needs/requests are listened to and acted upon. For example, dad insisted on trying to climb over the side of his bed in spite of the obvious risk. Instead of being more forceful in preventing this (for his own safety) the manager organised for the bed to be lowered to a safe height, the side removed and a mat being placed on the floor. Now dad regularly rolls out of bed at night and sleeps on the mat, which gives him a crucial sense of control. Just one small example of a very positive ethos.
Very friendly and caring home. Was apprehensive re putting my aunt into care but my concerns are no more. She has been made welcome and made part of a huge loving family. I'm happy that she is so settled. A great weight off my mind.
Dad became increasingly frail and following a bad fall and several weeks in hospital, could no longer live alone. Squeaks was the seventh facility we viewed and the only one we felt could meet his needs. He has settled in quickly and is very content in this small independent establishment. The staff are caring and responsive to needs. The food is good, the rooms are clean. Residents are clean and tidy and there are regular activities. Dad is happy and well cared for.
Best home we could have made for mum. It's never easy putting a loved one into care but Squeaks House is like being at home. All the staff are very caring and obviously love their jobs and the residents. Mum seems very settled and happy in her new home.
Squeaks House is a lovely home. Carers are very good, kind and understanding. I would recommend this home, they have been so good to my mum, treating her with respect and dignity that she deserves.
Initially I was very worried to put my mother in a care home. I looked at some of the other homes in the area and decided on Squeaks House. It was the best decision I have made. The staff are very polite, helpful and caring. They are really well trained. There were lots of activities. My mother loved going out and the singer who visited the home. I can go at any time and as many times as I like. I would recommend the place to anyone looking to find a place for their family member.
