View Full Details of Brambles Care HomeMy mum has been a resident of Brambles Care Home for nearly three years. It is a very homely care home and is maintained very well inside and outside. The carers are very helpful, friendly and kind with my mum who has very limited mobility. She has a lovely room which is kept very fresh and clean. She likes to sit in the conservatory which has lovely views of the sea and a nicely maintained garden. There are also activities and outings planned which the residents are able to enjoy. I can't speak highly enough of Brambles and the care my mum receives. Thank you so much to everyone for the making my mum feel so comfortable and well looked after!
The staff are always kind and very helpful. They are happy to accompany my mother on hospital and dental visits where necessary. The home is clean, well-organised and very secure. They also provide lots of activities for residents. Family members are always updated on any changes. Recommended.
My mother is 96 years old and has been living at Brambles Care Home for over 3 years. She is very well looked after and as a family we cannot fault the care she is given. All the staff are friendly and show all the time how well they know mum and her needs. The communication between the home and the family is very good and we feel very happy that mum is spending her last years in such a caring environment.
We have been connected to Brambles Care Home for nine years. The standard of care at Brambles is second to none. My mother has quite complex needs. The staff are very well attuned to less usual problems and individual needs. Staff are courteous and welcoming to both residents and their family and friends. We live at some distance from Leigh but have always been able to speak to staff by telephone and email. We are aware that the home has made many improvements over the years and applaud their ventures. The recent acquisition of the minibus has opened up many possibilities for those residents who enjoy the wider world. Brambles is very much a place people can call home and is run along the lines of a small and very caring hotel. We have never had a negative experience with staff. Everyone is kind and truly caring. Everything is fresh and clean.
From the moment I step through the door, I am welcomed by friendly staff; they are clean and tidy and there are no unpleasant odours, not only in the lounge but residents' rooms. My mother can be difficult and irritable but she is only met with kindness and tolerance. She requires aid with her toilet and carers are always there to help. Mother is always encouraged to join in exercises and crafting which she enjoys but can't always cope without assistance. The kitchen staff try to accommodate her particular diet and always make it look appealing and appetising. Thank you.
Great staff and care for my father, good food and extremely well looked after and very clean and attentive staff, What can I say? Five-star all the way. Can't speak highly enough of the great service.
I always find the management and staff are friendly and helpful. The property is always clean and tidy. This leads to a very happy atmosphere within the whole building. My friend who resides there has certain complex needs and regular medication and the management and staff are always proactive in dealing with this area.
The Brambles Care Home show immense care and respect to their residents, my mum feels safe and secure at the Brambles and the family are confident in the knowledge that her needs are met and that she has a positive, fun time.
I am confident that my mother receives very good care and she is very happy at the Brambles Care Home. My mother receives prompt attention to all her needs and is treated with respect and kindness. Her room is comfortable and suits her personal needs. She has access to a small patio where she can get fresh air and see her flowers. Mother does enjoy the Friday morning quiz too.
Such a lovely care home. My nan is so happy here. All the staff are amazing and so friendly. You are welcome at any time of the day and never feel pressured to leave. Could not ask for a better service all round. It's like a home from home which is so lovely when you are put into a position where care is needed for a period of time and want your relative to feel part of a family and safe. Best care home I have ever experienced.
Brambles Care Home is still providing great care for my mother who is a resident. The staff are always friendly and approachable and my mother tells me she feels genuinely cared for, especially by her key carer who is assigned to her. Occasionally, my mum grumbles about promises made for various activities which then do not transpire or are delayed but I don't know the other side to this from the care home's point of view. It would be unfair to be critical without understanding both points of view. She is happy at Brambles and has a lovely size room with panoramic sea views over the Thames estuary. Thanks to all the staff there for their continued care.
Since arriving at Brambles, my mother has been made to feel one of the family, as a result, she has settled in well. Staff are friendly, attentive and proactive. Mum seems to really enjoy the fun activities that run throughout the day/week, there's always plenty on to keep her active and engaged which is lovely to see. It's a joy to visit Mum at Brambles and see so many smiling faces around both residents and staff! Well done to all and thank you for making it such a special place.
Nice home, friendly and caring staff, bright and clean, can visit any time. Nothing is too much trouble, always available if you have any issues or problems or anything you do not understand, always kind and very caring.
I have been visiting Brambles for about 7 years. Firstly my mum and then a friend. At all times, I have found the attitude of all staff to be absolutely wonderful to both residents and visitors. Always spotlessly clean. Kitchen staff go the extra mile to please. Safe and wonderful place. Thank you Brambles!
My mother had a two-week period for respite in another care home in the area early into the new year; unfortunately, this turned out to be an upsetting and negative experience for her. Unable to cope at home with carers, she consented, having viewed and met with staff, a large, modern, purpose-built care home, and after four months, it became clear that the environment was not meeting her emotional needs. With trepidation and much consideration, we viewed Brambles together and made the joint decision to move her there. Brambles has a lovely, inclusive, warm, welcoming, family atmosphere. The staff are friendly, cheerful and supportive, treating residents as individuals and identifying likes/dislikes and preferences. Mum reports that all the meals are well cooked and enjoyable, she has settled well and is thriving, and I have complete peace of mind that she is receiving the very best care.
My dad came to Brambles in a poor state physically and with mid-stage dementia and, at the age of 94, had been living at home with private carers and daughters on hand to assist him. However, by Oct 22, it became clear after numerous falls that Dad could not stay at home. When I met the care home manager, I warmed to her immediately, and she took Dad on despite how frail he was. From the moment Dad arrived, he did much better. He was always clean, personally shaved and washed, and bedding changed daily as he was double incontinent. All the carers were friendly to him, treated him with dignity and took care when handling him. There is no doubt in my mind Brambles gave Dad 10 extra months of life as he definitely initially did much better in their care. Sadly dementia increased, and care rose to the challenge. Dad passed away peacefully after a short illness in his lovely sea-view room. Thank you, Brambles, so much for taking such care of my dad.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at The Brambles Care Home. On a hot sunny day last week, my mother and 11 other residents were taken down to the garden. They had a BBQ of meats on little skewers, ice cream and a glass of Pimms. My mother was full of it when I arrived the next day and couldn’t wait to tell me all about it.
My aunt has been a resident at Brambles Care Home for 11 months now. We viewed other homes before viewing Brambles because it came so highly recommended and we needed something to compare it with. We needn't have bothered. On our introductory tour we were given a warm welcome, helpful information, and good advice, all with an openness and frankness, sincerely meant, that we came away delighted that we had found the best place for her. Time has proved that right. Brambles is a home in the truest sense of the word. It is not an institutional type of home, far from it. My aunt is so happy and looks forward to the many activities. She often tells us that she feels blessed, loved and well cared for. This is evident on every visit. All the staff treat every resident with respect and dignity. They show compassion, remain cheerful even at testing moments, they're well-trained and professional. They say there is room for improvement in every business. Brambles will know where but we don't.
My mother was a resident of Brambles Care Home for seven and a half years until her death at the end of January 2023, aged 94 years. I have previously rated Brambles 5/5 for their day to day level of care over the years. In the last few months of her life the staff maintained a palliative care regime with increased levels of attention and real sympathy for my mother, myself and my sister, for which we are profoundly grateful.
My father was here for 10 years. We could not have chosen a more caring home for him. He was treated very much as an individual, not only meeting his physical needs but also his emotional needs. They afforded him his dignity throughout his time there and it did indeed become his ‘home’ I will never be able to praise them enough for that.
