View Full Details of Menwinnion Country House Care HomeI think that Menwinnion is excellent, everybody is happy, the food is superb, if you need anything it is there.
My mother has now been a resident for almost a year and has benefitted from the care she has received. I am very happy that she is receiving the attention she needs. I find the staff welcoming and friendly.
We are extremely happy with the care and service.
Unfortunately, there are too many care homes that fall beneath acceptable standards for our loved ones. Menwinnion is not one of them. In my opinion care homes are the last homes for the people we once had in our lives, letting them go, to be cared for by others is a truly scary time. Menwinnion has allowed me to hand over my mother in desperate circumstances knowing she is now safe and cared for 24/7.
In the last seven months with the exception of two days I have spent all of my time in three NHS hospitals and two care homes. The staff and management I have met at Menwinnion have all been with the only very occasional exception, kind, helpful and attentive and as a group of people made my life far happier than anywhere else. It is my wish that I will remain here.
A happy, relaxed care home. Wonderful, caring staff with a vital sense of humour and genuine love.
My father has been in Menwinnion since 30/04/2022. He is being cared for so well, we cannot thank the staff at Menwinnion enough. we know that he is well-supported there. He is loved by everyone as he is such a character. The staff keep him clean, fed, watered, pain-free, safe and loved and we are grateful for this. We are so glad that he has such an excellent place to stay as we couldn't look after him with Alzheimers.
My experience of Menwinnion is excellent. The staff and management are respectful, kind and caring to the residents and do their utmost to keep them calm and happy in a person-centred way. When Mum needed to go into care, it was such a difficult time, but decision-making was made easier because of the support we received from the team, helping us to understand every step of the process. Mum was fully involved, given informed choices and asked about how she wanted to be supported in the future when she became less independent. The fact that she could take her beloved cat also made a huge difference to her wellbeing. Mum's dementia has, at times, taken some cruel twists, but the staff adapt to these changes by offering more intensive support to ensure she maintains her dignity. Any concerns about changes to her health are always shared with me and followed up. I can't thank Menwinnion enough for what they do for my Mum and for how they support us both through the dementia journey.
Outstandingly nice and good accommodation. Nice. warm and most caring staff. Very high-quality set in delightful West Cornwall. The immediate area about Menwinnion Country Care Home is pleasant. The quality and variety of the cuisine is excellent. In summary, I am very happy to live in Menwinnion.
The staff and management have been amazing and have looked after my husband for the last six months. I think that are all wonderful caring people. My family cannot thank them enough.
My time here has been made enjoyable by the caring staff and excellent food. Very pleased the home does not smell of urine as often found in other homes.
Menwinnion is a very clean and happy home, with very kind and helpful staff and management. Excellent value for the money. Food is excellent and the care my husband gets is second to none. He has been there for six months and is happy.
Menwinnion is a very happy home. It has kind and helpful staff. The care my dad gets is excellent. He is very happy.
My husband came in for a week, so I could have needed rest. He enjoyed his stay and said the staff were very caring and looked after him really well. The food was excellent, and he enjoyed the company. The room was very tidy and clean. My husband had a lovely rest in a very lovely setting.
Our Uncle was resident in Menwinnion Country House for three years until he sadly passed away this year. During that time, we could not fault the care he was given, and particularly so when his health was very poor and his quality of life extremely limited. All the staff came across as warm, thoughtful and genuinely caring. As we all lived some distance away, we were very reassured to know that he was in such good, safe hands.
Menwinnion was always a homely and friendly place with a cheerful and positive atmosphere. The staff were attentive, kind and caring to both my mum and me as a visitor. Mum was treated with respect and the staff spoke knowledgeably about mum without prompting. I feel she had excellent care right up to her death.
My friend is not the most friendly person and has always told people to their face what she thinks of them, this at times is very embarrassing. She often says she hates the place she is in and when we talk it through it's the best place in the world and the service is better than she gets at a top class hotel. She has lost a lot of weight since being at Menwinnion but is a very fussy eater. One thing I would like to see is a hand towel and flannel in her room for her hands to be washed after she has been put on the commode. Staff and management are very good. Problems get sorted.
All staff at Menwinnion are very caring, not only to my husband who passed away in March but also to me. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
My mothers needs and care are well met and she is very happy with her treatment by staff and management. Considers Menwinnion as her home and staff part of her family.
The staff at Menwinnion were extremely helpful and welcoming and went the extra mile to make my husbands stay very comfortable. He thoroughly enjoyed his two weeks respite. The food was excellent and the surroundings attractive and very relaxing. I feel very confident in leaving him in this well staffed and well-equipped care home.
