View Full Details of Richmond House Care HomeAlthough my mother's stay was brief the support we received from staff and her support was faultless. She commenced with a period of respite and we soon realised the benefit of full time care and felt Richmond House was the best place to facilitate this. Sadly she passed away shortly afterwards due to health issues however during her spell in hospital and after her passing the staff have been supportive and understanding.
I was so pleased how the Richmond House staff cared for my dad during his time there. They were caring and compassionate. Although my dad didn't take part in all the activities there was always something going on. As I couldn't visit that often it was good to see my dad enjoying himself on their social media page, I felt it kept me informed of his weekly activities. My dad seemed happy there and didn't have any complaints and I was happy he was well cared for. One slight complaint would be about the communication, as it was a little poor at times and phone lines would cut off during conversations. This would lead to a confusion on my part not knowing weather I had been understood or I had understood them. Email correspondence seemed to be a better way to communicate. All in all my dad was looked after very well and it was a comfort for me to know that he was with people who cared for him during his last moments.
My Dad was a resident for just under 2 years. From the day he went to Richmond House I knew it was the right place for him. The home was clean and never smelt like a home, ever. The staff were friendly and professional at all times. Dad could participate in the daily activities and was encouraged to do so, playing dominoes, watching some of his favourite films, music afternoons with instruments, animal visits, even Dad going to the local Aquarium to pick out some new goldfish at one time. There was also quiet spaces for when he wanted some peace or when I visited with my Dog Max. Dad's bedroom was always spotless with his personal bits and pieces respected always. He had help getting up, washed & dressed with regular haircuts and a chiropodist often within the home. I couldn't recommend Richmond House enough. So many wonderful people that work at Richmond House that I was lucky to meet with and how they spoke and looked after Dad I will never forget.
Any time I visit my Mum, coming from a distance, the care home staff and management are attentive to my and my Mum's requirements and are a large part of enabling my visits and making them work - in not always easy circumstances
My mother lives in Richmond house , the care she receives is excellent, staff are friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble for them . I would recommend the home to all . My mother has Alzheimer's and is looked after really well by all . She is so happy there
My family all feel that we were very fortunate to be able to place our Mam at Richmond House (RH). Her room is exactly what she wanted and she settled in quickly as the staff made sure that she was comfortable, well attended to and she made genuine friends amongst both staff and other residents. The food was varied and tasty and each residents meal plan / diet was taken care of. As a home, RH is modern, comfortable and safe, both indoors and in the garden. There were regular activities to stimulate both mind and body, with visits from interesting people and groups. All organised by a dedicated 'events' manager. From Day 1 we were happy that Mam was treated with respect and dignity and it was clear that the staff were genuinely caring and kind people, who we grew to know and respect as individuals. We appreciated the time and care they took of Mam and thank them for their professionalism. They do a difficult and challenging job with skill and dedication.
This care home is fabulous. The staff are kind understanding and have the needs of their residents at heart. They are well trained and well led by management. Mums needs are met in a person centred way with explanation as to what is done why and how. We are always kept up to date with changes appointments Abs her health both physical and psychological. There are activities available for anyone who wants to join in and residents are encouraged to make choices with guidance and support. They have visiting musicians, children from local schools. Residents have birthday cakes ands parties for all occasions. This care home is a top flyer snd should be recommended to everyone as a place to learn about excellent quality dementia care.
The staff at the care home are always polite and caring. They listen to my mum and she said the staff are lovely and you can have a joke with them. The staff keep me up dated on any of mums needs and also any appointments she receives to ensure we can respond in a timely way. Mum seems happy to return to the home after going out on trips. Due to mum having dementia she often says that she does nothing all day. However, I know that isn't correct because they have an activities organiser and I see pictures on the home Facebook page of activities which mum is engaged in from exercise classes, dancing, listening to music to baking. Mum always appears well fed and clean when I visit her. I am able to go into her room which is always clean and tidy. Mum seems happy with the care she is receiving.
I am very satisfied with the care my mother is receiving at Richmond House Rhyl. My mother has experienced minor and more serious health issues during her stay at Richmond House. On all occasions I have been kept informed of her treatment plan and her progress. All staff worked conscientiously, with compassion and empathy for mum during these difficult times.I feel that their diligence contributed to mums full recovery.During a recent episode of illness mum was moved to a more accessible room on the ground floor. I was able to stay with her overnight. The staff were very attentive to mum and made me very welcome and comfortable. This is so important when a relative is unwell. During this time family members were allowed and encouraged to visit whenever they were able. Mum has been a resident at Richmond House for two and a half years. Her care has been consistently positive and personally focused to her needs.
Mum never wanted to go in a home, but sadly it was not safe for her to stay at home alone anymore. After looking round locally at homes we decided on Richmond House. We felt Richmond House had a different feeling when you walk in. The staff are caring, friendly and helpful. Communication is great. Mum has settled in and we visit regularly. We are grateful to the staff who reassured us when I've been upset and concerned about Mums condition. I feel she's well looked after here. I can go back to being Mums daughter and not her carer anymore.
Richmond House continues to be run efficiently and effectively. The residents are cared for very well and are stimulated by many and varied activities. The staff are friendly and provide a great standard of care. The fees are high but are reflected in the exceptional standard of care, both physical and mental. I would definitely recommend Richmond House to anyone who requires dementia care.
My husband was a resident at Richmond House for one week's respite and I had every confidence that all his needs would be met by the staff. It is a very friendly environment and he seemed very relaxed and comfortable being there. It makes the transition from home to care home stress free knowing he is safe and cared for.
For me, the key thing that makes Richmond House stand out is the quality of care provided by the staff. They all have such a good rapport with my mum which makes all the difference. Second on the list is her bedroom which is lovely and clean with a good outlook towards the sea. Her family pictures on the walls make it her space which is all the more important with her reduced memory. Mum enjoys her meals too so thank you for that as well! Although it's not about us, we are always made to feel very welcome each time we visit. Thank you for all your good work.
Staff and carers looked after mum so well during her time with them. She loved the carers and was well looked after. All of the staff are helpfull and kind to the residents. I felt assured she was in the best place.
My mum has been a resident at Richmond House for over a year and a half. She always says how happy she is there. They do regular activities, the staff chat and interact with mum, and she often has her hair done and nails painted! The staff are kind and friendly and always update us with regards to mums care. She has a nice, big en-suite room which is clean and tidy. We visit regularly and are always made to feel welcome.

Every member of staff has been wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and everyone has a smile on their face. The place is always clean and tidy and the residents are engaged and involved with an activity every time we have visited. We have no hesitation in scoring every aspect of this review as excellent. We cannot recommend Richmond House highly enough. Our mother is treated as an individual, well looked after and happy to be there, what more can you say.
We cannot believe the change in our father since he returned home, we are so pleased that we decided to choose Richmond House for his respite stay while we were on holiday, it has proven to be the best decision we have made regarding dads health, he's back to the way he was 15 months ago, fully alert, having good conversations with him, and he's watching TV again. Before he stayed at Richmond house his mental health was deteriorating at a fast rate, but thanks to the management and staff at Richmond House he is completely changed him for the better. It is genuinely appreciated by all his family. A lovely clean home where the residents are very care for by lovely caring staff.
So happy with the care and attention that my wife is receiving at Richmond House. It is a very personal and caring environment for her. Attention to detail never spored. My mind is very much at ease knowing that she is so excellently looked after.
Richmond House's staff and residents have become our new family. Everyone is so kind and caring, always keeping the residents as their main priority. I am still adapting to my mum's illness and the transition of her moving into a care home but the staff have helped me so much and still do. They are always available with support and a hug. The environment is so bright and happy with many stimulating activities for the residents. Each resident is treated as an individual with the utmost dignity and respect. The cleanliness is of top quality standards and meals are the same. I am forever grateful to all of the staff. They are very special people.
The Richmond House team works together to provide a homely, supportive environment where residents are considered with dignity, cared for as individuals, and cheerful and attentive staff. The team effort is evident and much appreciated. Thank you all!
