View Full Details of Lobswood HouseMy mother lives in the home and the care and patience of the staff with her has been absolutely brilliant. My mother has complicated dementia needs, yet the staff have been so accommodating and they remain calm at all times, which I am so grateful for. The care team and managers keep me updated at all times of any significant changes to my mother's medical condition and they have made such efforts behind the scenes in moving my mother's care needs through the NHS and thereby speeding up her medical diagnoses. Thank you to all those at Lobswood House.
My father spent 6 wonderful months under the amazing care delivered by the Lobswood House team. During his time at Lobswood, he would tell me how happy he was and how lovely all the staff were. He really wanted for nothing. Nothing was ever too much trouble! Every member of the team went above and beyond they even took the trouble to make us tea and coffee each time we visited. His care and needs were their priority, the staff would always keep me up to date on his health if things changed I was confident and very comfortable we had made the right choice with Lobswood. If there was an olympics for care homes, team Lobswood would be my gold choice every time Thank you for everything you gave him your best and I will forever be grateful.
I think the care and personal attention is very good. There are no bad smells that I've found in other care homes and cleanliness is good. It's not the poshest looking interiors but it is adequate. The outside space could be better but most elderly don't seem to want to be outside regardless of the weather, my mum always stays in. Overall, I am very happy with this care home.
My mother lives in the home, and I couldn't be happier with the service and care my mum receives on a daily basis. My mum can choose what activities she would like to be involved in (but she is always encouraged if she doesn't feel like it that day) My mother's room is very accessible for her needs, and she can make the room as homely as she would like it to be (with personal belongings).
My stepfather, aged 97, was moved to Lobswood after an unsatisfactory stay at another care home. We were all anxious, as he was so unwell with many health conditions and was so unhappy at the previous home. However, the manager was very reassuring and he went on to receive the best care possible. My stepfather was treated with kindness and dignity. He was kept clean, fed and hydrated, and regularly monitored for his Diabetes and pain, as he had several long-term health conditions and was at end of life. He had a lovely, spacious room, which was kept clean and fresh. They were also kind and professional towards their other residents, many of whom had dementia. The atmosphere was like a family home. My stepfather sadly passed away in April and the manager and deputy manager attended my stepfather's funeral, which meant a lot to us. They kept in touch with Mum, who is attending an Elvis evening next Saturday. We can't rate Lobswood highly enough.
All the staff at Lobswood House are pleasant and friendly - several of them are excellent. My sister is happy there and feels safe. I am not sure how many and varied the activities are, as my sister is quite forgetful and doesn't remember what she's been doing. I know some musicians used to come in regularly and were extremely popular, but I haven't seen them recently. A regular gentle exercise class would be good - but perhaps this happens already.
Lobswood House is a very caring home and my husband is well looked after. All the staff are friendly and always helpful. Really impressed with the food, lunches always look delicious the pudding colourful as well. My sister, a retired matron was impressed with the care my husband received from the staff when she visited last month.
My wife has now been at Lobswood House for six weeks, and I visit her every other day. I know that my wife is very settled there and feels very secure which is a great comfort to me. My experience has been that every thing is very good and I also have been made welcome, therefore I am very happy for my wife to stay there permanently.
Our Mum was placed in Lobswood initially for six weeks respite from May 23 to June 23. This was due to be extended but sadly Mum ended up back in hospital then placed somewhere else on her discharge. We would have liked Mum back at Lobswood. The food is freshly cooked and always very nice. The facility is clean, bright and airy. Move over the staff, they are outstanding. Mum has Alzheimer’s/Vascular Dementia and can be challenging but she was treated with respect and always looked well looked after. The staff always encouraged Mum to come downstairs and participate in the activities. Mum was happy here. Thank You for looking after our mum and us. They were supportive to the family also at a challenging time.
I visited my brother-in-law at Lobswood House in late January 2023 and June 2022 and both times the staff were welcoming and great care was displayed by the staff. It was clear that he was well cared for physically and emotionally. My husband and I give the wonderful team at Lobswood House in Littlehampton an A+ rating! Thank you to the entire staff.
The way the staff cared for my uncle was outstanding. They were always cheerful and positive, and they developed a warm relationship with him, which he really appreciated. They helped him engage with other residents, which added interest and pleasure to him being there. We were always welcome as visitors. He often said to us that it was very nice there.
I find that the standard of service at Lobswood House is very good indeed.
The manager and staff are all very helpful so the care is good. I live in my own room which I am so happy in. I can't ask for any more.
My mum was transferred to Lobswood House for 6 weeks of respite care from hospital. I was rather apprehensive as I knew nothing about this care home and there was very little online to tell me about it. However, after speaking to the operations director on the phone, my worries were put at ease. It was clear that the residents and their needs were very important to them. Anytime I called the home, the lovely house manager was more than happy to update me on how Mum was. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Visiting was permitted, initially in the garden pod but soon inside the dining room. Although I did not get to see much of the inside of the home, it was spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. Mum told me that it was constantly being cleaned. The food was good and plentiful according to her and the carers sat with her to make sure she ate enough. I could see from the way the carers were with Mum that they had genuine affection for her. I would definitely recommend Lobswood House.
I had no experience of facilities or activities offered since my brother was too ill to make use of any. The fees, at all care homes, seem excessive but, without knowing its cost or profit being made, one cannot assess the value for money. My overall information of Lobswood House was that the standard of care and management was excellent and every effort was made to make my brother as comfortable as his condition allowed. As a visitor, I was always made to feel welcome. I had no knowledge of food standards.
Very good, very kind staff.
My husband has been in a few homes but Lobswood has been the best, it is bright and airy, friendly and helpful staff. The manager has always been helpful to us when we require respite and any advice. Would recommend this home to others.
When entering this care home it feels very homely and welcoming, everyone makes you feel at home. They are extremely hard working and you notice that. There are good communication skills throughout. Honestly, it's a wonderful care home, the management are amazing, very professional at how they make the nursing home run smoothly. The care home is a warm environment that works to high standards for dementia care supporting all positive aspects of support and wellbeing for all their clients.
All staff are extremely helpful and caring. My wife does not communicate but since I attend the home on a daily basis I can verify first hand her care. Management keeps me well informed.
The care is excellent and the staff efficient, sometimes under difficult circumstances. The food is excellent and the activities ample. The home is roomy and clean while the air conditioner does kick in in hot weather. The management and staff are very friendly.
