View Full Details of Peaker Park Care VillageMum had been to Peaker Park several times for brief stays whilst we were away and was always well cared for. She was very impressed with the food as she had various intolerances. In December it became apparent that she needed full time care and we were very lucky as, despite the home being almost full, she could move in straight away. Mum's health improved significantly in Peaker Park with the care and understanding of the staff, and it was so comforting to us to know that we had made the right decision. Big thanks to the team who cared for Mum through her last days. I would like to add that my late Mother in Law, who had Alzheimer's, was cared for in Peaker Park for 6 years. We were very happy with her care.
Mum was moved to Peaker Park for the last week of her life. The home is so calm and the staff go above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with dignity and thought in mind to the very end. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done. A truly wonderful place and team. Thank you.
My wife was admitted to Peaker Park in February 2017 after being discharged from the psychiatric hospital where she had been confined because of her erratic and sometimes uncontrollable behaviour, which was put down to Alzheimer's. Up until the pandemic, I could wander with her freely through the building and gardens and even take her down to the pub for a coffee or cider. She survived the pandemic but gradually became less and less mobile until she had to be confined to her bed for her own safety until her death in December 2024. During this time, I visited her once a week on different days, and always, she herself and the bedding were immaculately clean. I was usually offered coffee when I sat with her. Whenever there were concerns about her health, the staff were totally supportive and I was allowed to stay at her side. I cannot thank the team on Clipston highly enough.
Our family friend stayed at Peaker Park for a respite stay. Whilst she was there she became a lot more sociable and happy and loved the care staff that looked after her throughout the day and evening. We thought she would struggle coming out of her own home environment but she found it to be home from home. She was safe, comfortable, happy and cared for. We couldn't fault the care home at all, the staff wherever you went were helpful, happy, and very understanding. Highly recommend Peaker Park Care Home.
After a fall and infection which resulted in a hospital stay. Dad was discharged from hospital to Peaker Park, initially on Discharge to Assess. We quickly realised that this was the best place for his ongoing personal and care needs. The staff were always professional and caring, quickly building a strong bond with Dad. I always felt that they were focused on providing the best care for his needs. Eventually, as his health was deteriorating the Peaker Park team on Gumley, looked after him with love and sensitivity, allowing us access at any time in his final weeks and days.
Carers are excellent, long shifts but are always ready to help you. Food is shocking and needs to be addressed to cater to all residents. Also, the rules of the home should be made available in all rooms.
My husband was a resident at Peaker Park for three years. I would like to thank everyone for their committed care and professionalism. My husband has been treated with the utmost dignity at the end. Staff cared for the family too. So grateful for all the love and kindness. Thank you Peaker Park for everything.
My Grandma was admitted as a fast-track patient. The short time my Grandma was here (Approx. 2 weeks) she received the best care! And kept comfortable, staff attended to every need. The communication to us the family was straightforward and informative. The love and support we got were like no other! I couldn't have wished for a better 2 weeks for my grandma who had been in and out of hospital the majority of 2024, but finally found comfort and peace at Peaker Park. Sadly Grandma has passed but I'm very thankful and my family are very thankful for 24-hour love and care.
Mum has only been in Peaker Park for 4+ weeks, but the staff are great and looked after her very well. Mum's only complaint was the lunchtime cooked food!
Mum was taken to Peaker Park from the hospital. She has broken her arm and had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's for many years. My sister and I had looked after her since our dad's passing 12 years before. We were very nervous about leaving her in someone else's care. Wow, we were relieved and happy. Clipston where Mum was, was amazing, thoughtful staff, capable, adaptable, knowledgable and friendly too. Mum had the very best of care, she blossomed. We couldn't be more grateful to the wonderful team at Clipston under the brilliance of the management of Peaker Park.
My very close friend was admitted to Peaker Park with dementia for respite November 2021 and became a full time resident in May 2022. She instantly settled in which made us realise to our relief that she was in the right place for her. She was joining in activities that she would always refuse to before and gained interaction with different carers that we could not provide at home, we noticed such a difference in her for the better. The staff are fantastic from the ladies on reception who always greet us with a smile and a pleasant chat, they are so helpful, nothing is too much for them. The staff on Gumley Wing are so caring and make our friend feel so much at home. They have a very difficult job but are always respectful and treat her with dignity and keep us well informed about her care and health. I would definitely recommend Peaker Park.
My wife (81) was referred to Peaker Park as an urgent admission (dementia) after very poor care at another home. From the very start, the quality of care, her treatment, the handling of her sometimes very difficult behaviour, was wonderful and quickly produced much calmer and less stressed behaviour. The staff were all a pleasure to deal with and the genuine affection and humour that they displayed to every resident was wonderful. At the end, her final days were treated with love and compassion and made the whole process bearable.
I relinquished the care of my husband in October 2022 when he was discharged, to assess, from hospital. It had been difficult for the health authority to find somewhere that could cater with the complexities of Lewy body dementia. But Peaker Park was prepared to care for him. Even though the care home was 12 miles away from where I lived it ended up being the best possible move for both of us, he had the best care I could have hoped for and I was able to be a wife again. I am sure that he was as content as he could be, and his end-of-life care was compassionate and caring.
My father was admitted to Peaker Park for palliative care at short notice. From the moment we arrived at Mulroy with Dad we were met at the door and staff made him feel so welcome and comfortable. Staff were wonderful in their understanding, not only of his physical challenges but emotional too. We were also thankful that the funding for Dad care was sorted out by Peaker Park, which was a massive relief not to have to worry about that too. Later Dad transferred to Fiddlers, he was again cared for with upmost respect and dignity and understanding. At a very difficult time for him and us as his family too staff demonstrated care for us all. It’s also such a benefit that nursing staff are on duty 24/7 so no waiting for urgent medication and diagnosis if a problem arises. Care staff are the unsung heroes in life. We witnessed their hard work, amazing, caring and cheerfulness every day for 8 weeks.
Top-quality care for my parents. Couldn't fault staff care. Wouldn't have wanted them in any other Care Home. Perfect and amazing care. Staff always had time 4 residents' families. You were all definitely my Mum's second family. Thank you all so much. Will never forget you!
This is the best care home ever, my Mum was a resident for over 4yrs and their caring levels are second to none the staff are amazing they looked after my Mum so well, I can't fault it and would highly recommend it!
My sister was in the Albany Unit for four years until she died there this week. I cannot think any care home could possibly have looked after her with more care, love and thoughtfulness. When he arrived there four years ago, she was worryingly thin and unhappy. Everyone on the unit made her comfortable and encouraged her to eat, and she blossomed in their care. Her last days dying from Alzheimer’s were hard for all her family and for the staff who had looked after her. We were so grateful for their care for her and for us. Peaker Park Care Village is simply the best place she could have lived in.
My dad was a resident here from August through to his sad passing at the end of November. As soon as we arrived for the first of many visits, I knew it was a place where he would be happy and comfortable. Right from the front door through to the bedrooms and lounges all the staff are wonderful and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I cannot thank them enough for looking after Dad and also my mum on some of her visits on her own. We were treated as if we were members of their own family, and in a way we became a part of the Peaker Park family ourselves. I was always kept informed of any problems with Dad and the team looked after me as well by guiding me through something I have never experienced before. I would like to say a really big thanks to everyone at Peaker Park.
Peaker Park Care Village looked after my mother for over three years. The service and care provided were exemplary and they made her very comfortable during her time with them. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Thank you to everyone involved in her care.
Mum was a permanent resident here for well over 3 years until her sad passing just a few days ago. A number of respite/rehabilitation visits had preceded her fully moving in. The care she received from all the team looking after her was always to a high standard. For me as her son to hear from her, that the staff were “very good to her” and she was “happy here” was of great comfort. Knowing she was safe was a huge burden removed from the family. We have nothing but praise for the way all at Peaker Park dealt with my mum during her time there and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others needing similar nursing care for their relatives.
