View Full Details of Woodchurch HouseI would not trust this home with my dog let alone a family member. Safeguarding team have contacted me regarding the serious attack on my sister by a male resident that they dismissed. 1. Residents allowed in communal areas semi-naked - upsetting residents. 2. Male residents attacking female residents causing long term injury. 3. Maintenance is appalling. My sister's room was flooding for two days making the bathroom inaccessible. 4. The smell is horrendous (recognising that this is often the case in homes like this). 5. The new patient manager is amazing hence two stars. 6. Registered Manager/Home Manager invisible.
My husband was very satisfied with his respite stay at Woodchurch House. The staff were very nice and friendly. The food was excellent. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The lounge was great and he made new friends. Everything was 5 stars. My husband was so happy there that I was able to have a proper break without worrying about him too much. We will be back soon, Thank you!
Woodchurch House Care Home has a happy welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff are very caring and hardworking from the managers, cleaners, maintenance staff, office staff, nurses and carers. My mum has only been in the home for a few months but right from beginning I have found them to be very helpful and supportive. The staff keep me well informed of any changes to her medical needs and welfare. I would definitely recommend this Home to other families and friends.
Great facilities, staff and admission process very professional. Residents are treated well, with extra attention given to activities and making sure the residents are occupied and entertained. We have found the staff to be very accommodating and flexible.
I find the standard of care exceptional. I would highly recommend Woodchurch House. The staff are always kind and very pleasant. As a visitor I am always made to feel welcome. Effort is always made with decorations in the lounge to celebrate various events throughout the year.
The home gave my mother a great 85th Birthday party. They provided decorations and food. She has a fantastic time and really enjoyed it. This is just one example of how the home has made my mum feel welcomed and cared for. I couldn't hope for better.
We have all been very reassured by the quality of care that is here at Woodchurch House. All the staff, from the managers, nurses, care staff and cleaners are all hard-working, caring, professional and attentive. The staff are gentle and loving with our mother and we feel she is in very safe hands here.
The word 'care' is what happens at Woodchurch House. Right from management to cleaners, absolutely fantastic. I can recommend this house if anybody wants my opinion, brilliant. In my opinion, money doesn't come into it, but it's worth every penny.
Just like to say, first all, the staff on 3rd floor where my husband is and the office staff and management are very caring and helpful towards me. Got contact 24/7. Amazing, nothing too much trouble. All the food cooked fresh each day. My husband loves the homemade biscuits.
Our experience of Woodchurch House is overwhelmingly wonderful, very nervous at first about bringing my father-in-law into a nursing home as unsure what to expect but all our worries were put at rest. All Staff whether reception staff to caring staff are amazing, nothing is a trouble to them, they are helpful and brilliant with the residents whatever problems they have.
My grandmother was accepted by Woodchurch House for a short-term assessment of her care needs following a stroke. Sadly she passed away two and a half weeks later, and I'm so grateful that she passed in such comfortable surroundings, close to her home and not miles away on a hospital ward. All the staff were exceptional and looked after her with care and kindness. They checked on her constantly and alerted us immediately of any changes in her condition. Our experience of Woodchurch House was so very short and we didn't have the time to make full use of its facilities, but while we were there I could find no fault in any area and would be very happy to recommend them to others.
My friend who had advanced dementia was cared for by staff at Woodchurch House in an exemplary matter. I visited regularly with his wife and more recently by myself. The unit was always clean and tidy, my friend was always clean, smartly dressed, well cared for and happy. The staff are brilliant, hardworking and kind. His wife frequently told me that she was happy with the care that her husband received.
My Father passed away 02/06/23. We are yet 14/6/23 to be notified! Personally, I've had to call several local Funeral Directors to locate his body! Incompetence or unable you decide? For three years we mentioned our concern after regularly inquiring as to my Fathers's health and Medication requesting a qualified medical report. Something they promised but didn't provide or perhaps chose to ignore. We are left not only grieving but also deeply hurt and insulted. Therefore I can feel nothing but anger and concern towards the ignorance, arrogance and incompetence of this place. Have asked myself why so many managers have been "in place" here over the last three years? I conclude this perhaps to be one reason for the failing mechanisms in existence here. It is in my humble opinion, you would be very well advised to look elsewhere. One absolute disaster of a care Home. Very happy to be contacted if you should require a more detailed review with dates etc.
The staff are very well trained and give exceptional care to each and every resident in the care home. The team always answers my questions and arranges transport for all of my hospital appointments. I am very very happy at Woodchurch House care and nursing home.
My mother was fast asleep when we visited; we were reluctant to wake her up as it can make her grumpy. There was a fair amount of noise about, but nothing disturbed her. We spoke to the nurse, who was lovely and updated us on Mother's condition etc. We then saw a member of staff to collect some bits and pieces that had been sent to my mother but needed my attention. All in all, very happy.
The whole team are caring and supportive of both the resident and their family. The online relative portal is an amazing tool for relatives that are unable to visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to other families looking for a care facility for their loved ones.
As a new resident my mother states she is very happy. Finds all staff very friendly and helpful. She is keen to be moved downstairs as soon as possible so that she can mix with residents of a similar mental capacity as her.
I have been so impressed with the compassion, empathy and good common sense shown to my husband and I in our very difficult present circumstances. Woodchurch House Care Home is clearly very well able to cope with my husband and his challenging behaviour and gives me full confidence that he, and the other residents, are extremely well looked after. Thank you so much.
The home has identified their failings and issues by creating an action plan. They have engaged with residents' relatives to work together to achieve results and receive feedback. The home has recruited a new manager whom we hope will continue the work started by the governance manager. Improvements can be seen already, let us hope this good work continues.
We attended the home following an emergency admission. Staff could not be more helpful, they rallied around to make sure that everything was in place. The room was impeccable and had everything that she needed. We were served cream tea which was delicious. My aunt has joined in with activities and the singer was brilliant. Everyone is so thoughtful from housekeepers to management. Thank you, Woodchurch House.
