View Full Details of The Mayfields Care HomeDuring visits and the reports received by other family members the care home is very well run. The residents are well cared for and seeing a family member settled there was very reassuring.
All staff work together to provide a safe, caring environment for the residents, often going the extra mile. The building and individual rooms are spacious and well kept. The food is varied and tasty. There is a robust system for medical issues and emergencies. Very good communication from staff at all levels.
I have been a visitor to 3 residents from 2019 to date. Each time someone needs care I always highly recommend Mayfields as I have always been impressed by the facilities which are more like a high-class hotel than a care home. As you walk in the door the staff are friendly and welcoming. The caring staff and catering are top-class. The coffee area is great as if your loved ones is able you can take them there for a drink together. As someone who hopefully has some time before I'd need this facility for myself, I would be pleased to think I could go somewhere like Mayfield.
We had no hesitation in bringing our Aunt to Mayfield as I have been informed with the care home from 2019 when a dear friend was transferred from hospital for palliative care. Since then I have recommended many people whom I continue to visit. The welcome from the start of the stay for patients whether permanent or short stay is wonderful from all members of the staff. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly and a wonderful place for all who are involved with the 'home'. I have worked in care homes in my lifetime and this one is the top by far, for care for people in need. Super food from the kitchen and all who work in this wonderful home.
I have been a visitor at Mayfields since 2020 when I accompanied a friend visiting a friend. The place is so warm, friendly atmosphere when you first enter, this runs right through the home with the wonderful staff and their caring attitude towards all the residents. The food always looks nourishing which is what the residents need. I cannot thank all members of staff for their continuing care in this wonderful care home.
My dad has spent a year at The Mayfields and he really appreciates the environment. The modern building provides excellent facilities and all of the staff do everything they can to look after everyone brilliantly, from the outstanding food to the tireless work of the activities coordinator. I live locally so visit frequently and at all different times, which means I have witnessed the excellent care provided over an extended period rather than a 'snapshot' and I can vouch that the excellence of this care home and it's first-rate staff is not just skin deep.
Mayfields is marvellous! Leaving behind ones 'home', belongings and a familiar lifestyle is a very big and tough decision to make. But for my, I am so happy to be here - after living alone in isolation and fear of falling. One must be prepared for a new way of life. There is always someone to talk to and activities to get involved in but areas where there is the chance to sit and have solitude if required.
After visiting a friend weekly for the last five weeks, I can honestly say what a wonderful home The Mayfields is. The home is beautifully decorated. The staff are amazing, very thoughtful and attentive. The home is very clean. All staff are amazing from the secretary, cleaners to the carers. Very welcoming, full five stars. Keep up the good work.
Dad has enjoyed his two weeks respite. If the time comes for full-time care, we will be back. The staff have all been wonderful, he will miss them all.
Lovely visit! Offered token for refreshments on arrival. Staff helpful and efficient when asked for some help with resident/family member. Good atmosphere.
My husband spent 9 days at The Mayfields in the dementia unit. It was his second experience of respite care, the first being in a care facility which did not work out. Due to this experience, I was skeptical about how it would be at The Mayfields. To my surprise he settled really well, had a good time and was content. The staff are caring and work hard to engage with the residents. I'm so pleased with the care he received and would definitely recommend.
My mum has been a resident at The Mayfields since November 2021 and has received excellent care. The staff are compassionate, professional and supportive. The management is always there to sort out requests. My mum really enjoys living at The Mayfields and has made so many friends, she always says the food is lovely. I would recommend The Mayfields to anyone looking for very good care for their loved ones.
On entering the home, when she first arrived, was greeted by a lovely, friendly admin, then taken upstairs and shown her lovely, clean, spacious room with light and lovely views. The staff within the unit were very attentive, always asking if we were both alright and lovingly attentive to my lady's needs. We played dominoes and offered tea/coffee, and on observing staff, they tended to the residents' needs kindly and attentively with much empathy. A delightful him and excellent care. When she first came to the home, she had lost weight and struggled to eat or want to eat. Staff observed, and she was admitted to the hospital after receiving care and returning to the home. She has thrived and is eating well/drinking, with the kindness and continuity of their care and observations. Staff are always there to help with any concerns.
After visiting several care homes The Mayfields stood out as the best home to provide all the needs of my friend who is now in permanent residency. Being a very sociable person he enjoys all the activities and also the choice of meals. Staff are particularly helpful with his physical needs and mental well-being. In fact, my friend tells me he is happy to be in The Mayfields and enjoys the company of other residents and staff.
A really lovely, friendly and clean care home. The staff welcomed us and have been very helpful while our friend settled into his new life at the home. He is now very happy and enjoys all the many activities they provide.
This week I pooped into see Dad. The resident's meeting was taking place. I sat for a while and listened to the staff asking the residents where they would like to go to on an outing. I was so pleased to see how the residents were listened to, as they each said where they would like to go. Nothing was dismissed and plans were discussed to make things happen. Well done everyone!
When my wife had to go into care with dementia, we had the offer of four different homes. I chose The Mayfields Care Home and my experience to date confirms I made the right choice. Residents and their visitors are treated with great respect and nothing is too much trouble. Activities are well thought-out and my wife loves being part of the 'helping hands' scheme. A big thank you to all the staff who work so hard for the benefit of the residents.
Very good, thanks for all you do.
The home is exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful and considerate. My mother is in great hands.
All I can say is, I walk out of Mayfields and feel happy my mum is safe and sound. Excellent choice I have made for my mum's twilight years.
