In the time my mum was at The Laurels, I felt very comfortable at the care my mum received. Staff always smiling and couldn't do enough for my mum. Totally dedicated to their work, lovely to see.
When we first took our mum to stay at the care home, I was a bit unsure what to expect. But after a few weeks, I realised it was the best place to be. Mum was very happy and all the staff were great. Mum recently passed away but I know that the last eleven months of her life were enjoyable and she was well looked after. I will miss my mum but also miss the visits to the care home which became a very enjoyable part of my week.
I find The Laurels (Winsford) to be a friendly, clean and happy environment. Nothing is too much trouble and communication is good.
My brother went into the The Laurels mid-August 2024 and has settled in quickly. The Staff are amazing and look after his needs really well, assisting him where necessary, they are very professional and respectful to him. He loves the food at meal times and goes to the Dining Room rather than stay in his room. His bedroom is always clean and tidy and he has some of his personal items to make it feel homely. The TV in his room was very small and he struggled to watch it due to his poor eyesight, the Staff arranged for a bigger TV to be installed, this made my Brother really happy. There are plenty of lounges and a huge garden for him to explore. He is very happy at The Laurels, he likes the Staff and he enjoys the one-to-one time they provide. We as a family are so pleased he has settled in so well, it is a relief to us to know he is happy, safe and being well looked after. Thank you to all the Staff at The Laurels, you are doing a fantastic job.
My mum spent six weeks of respite care at The Laurels. From the very first telephone conversation with the manager to the transition from Mum's own home to The Laurels it was considered with the utmost nurturing, warmth and welcoming attitude. Everyone genuinely seems to care for the residents as if they were family. I felt very comforted that Mum was being so well looked after. I think if the gardens were given a makeover it would feel ideal.
Thank you for the kind care given to our dad. All members of staff were kind, caring and considerate to his needs.
My cousin was cared for with compassion, dignity and professionalism. We could not have wished for a better place for her, even though she was not there for long. Her last days were lovely and staff and management could not have done more. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
My mum has been a resident for several months now and she is settled and happy to be there. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and respectful to their residents and visitors. The manager and staff always take the time to talk to myself and my dad answering any questions we might have. The care my mum receives is exactly what she needs.
The Laurels have given her kind, compassionate care, coupled with dignity, at a time in her life when she has been most vulnerable. As her dementia progressed and her physical condition deteriorated, The Laurels and their carers were there for her to help with kindness, almost becoming the family that she no longer had.
I found the staff so helpful and treated my husband with affection and dignity. He was loved by staff and management. The whole family was happy with his treatment and care. You have a lovely and caring staff and management. Kitchen staff were great - nothing too much trouble for them.
Kind, caring and attentive staff for my one hundred year old mum. Excellent personal care. Identify medical problems quickly for Doctor's attention. Professional care for falls and bruising, with ambulance as needed. Home is a pleasant, cosy environment with cheerful and friendly cleaning staff who know Mum. Mum enjoys art, bingo and having her hair done and a manicure.
Very happy and comfortable and very well cared for.
Very well looked after and made very welcome.
Mum has been in here for 3-4 weeks now and settled very happily. Her room is small but cosy with a few of her own pictures on the wall. She dislikes eating now but the staff always let her have pudding and keep up with liquids. Like others, the appearance of the building was a bit of a shock, despite being forewarned by the manager. The staff more than makeup for it though by being so friendly and attentive. Covid has just reared its ugly head again and I have no worries about Mum's care whilst there is no visiting.
Age and appearance of the building were a bit of a shock (our first visit). Staff and care given seem to make up for this though. My mum loves the staff and the care she is given and they were all very friendly and accommodating to us (we are living overseas, so visiting has been difficult due to Covid, finances etc). With a well-thought-out refurbishment, The Laurels could have such a different feel about it. Definitely showing its age.
Not the newest of homes, but the staff more than make up for dismal looking flat rotted 1960s building. A warm environment with loving, caring, genuine staff, who enjoy their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble, and if suggestions are put forward to management, they are acted upon. Would I live here myself, then the answer is yes.
On the whole, my dad seems well cared for and the staff are always friendly. Although he did say on our visit today that he was given a cold bath yesterday!
Dad seems happy enough. Friendly staff.
My mum came to The Laurels needing emergency respite care and within days, she settled better than we could have ever expected. The staff are all amazing in their care and kindness. They go way above and beyond to make everyone welcome and to ease any worries we had about the experience. Mum is so well looked after that she will now have a permanent home here and the concerns I have are no longer troubling you. I know she is happy, well cared for and is completely safe. We, as a family, are so grateful.
The level of care and attention the staff provided is amazing. They treat my mother like a dear friend or relative. The home is a happy place full of fun and laughter with lots of activities to keep the residents occupied.
