View Full Details of Ernstell House Nursing HomeErnstell House has been a very positive home for my mother for the last four years. Kind and caring staff, well prepared meals, respectful and professional approach. Am very happy to have had her so well looked after.
My dad's end of life care was exceptional. All staff were kind, gentle, respectful, not only to dad but to me and my family. I'm only sorry dad was with them for a short time. Their knowledge and training in full blown dementia is exemplary and they should be rewarded for their activity schedule. Amazing for what remaining cognition the residents enjoyed. If you wanted any further endorsement, I would do it in an instance. Whilst not the cheapest care home, money does actually become irrelevant when you know your loved one is in expertly caring hands. Well done, I will miss you.
My wife has been at Ernstell House Nursing Home for a month now. It takes time for dementia patients to settle into a new place, but the staff have really done a great job to help her. They give her a lot of love, which in her other home was neglected so much. This gives me less pressure and no worries. All the nurses are so kind to my wife, making sure that she is comfortable all the time.
In general, very good. However, sometimes there is no one around to speak to in the unit or there may be dirty wipes left in the room. Reception is very courteous and friendly, but again, sometimes not at the desk.
The home is well-laid out in a lovely setting, garden's lovely to sit in weather- permitting. First port on entering is the reception. Friendly staff and the care of staff giving to. Patients treated with dignity. The rooms are well thought out and a good size, safety and security is very good. Cleanliness is very good, food good. Activities are very good for residents. Overall the home is well thought-out.
Surprisingly less unsettling than I imagined. The home was very clean, tidy and bright. Plenty of light and air. My friend's room was decent, although lack of fresh air was very noticeable. Her carers were outstanding. I understand the home company only pays the carers minimum wage and we are not happy with this; living wage with bonuses for performance should be introduced. We definitely did not like the crowded dining room at meal times, it was as if everyone had to be herded in at once!
A beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The moment you step inside you can feel the love and care given to both residents and their families. The home itself is filled with wonderful staff, who really care for all. It's a pleasure to visit, well done to all for filling the home with love and laughter.
Dad is very happy at Ernstell House. He is settled and the staff are so attentive to all the residents. The staff are all so pleasant to us as well and they make us feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they keep us well informed about Dad's wellbeing. There is also so much for the residents to enjoy, especially in the activities, which the staff lay on for the residents and also for the families to enjoy as well, which my mum and I have been too. Dad loves the music, it was so nice to see him really enjoying himself and for us to take part in.
This is now my mother's permanent residence, after a previous stay here between hospital. I cannot recommend the home enough! All staff I have had contact with are lovely, very attentive to my mother's often incessant needs. They do not moan, even after many visits to her room. The home is always clean and offers a varied menu of meals, even accommodating individual requests. We, as a family, feel happy for our mother staying there, with them meeting all her needs.
Thank you for the way my mum is treated with dignity, respect and like a proper human being. Her needs are so well taken care of. My family feel relief knowing she is safe and well taken care of.
All of the staff are extremely kind and helpful to both my mother and and all our family. So happy we have no visiting times; it makes our visits so, so easy with work or other commitments. Every member of staff, no matter their position, are kind and helpful.
My family member has been a resident at Ernstell House for two years now and outside of lockdown I visited 3 - 4 times per month more often than not. I am disappointed to find that their bedroom is very dirty or that they have not been showered or dressed. It is also sad to see that there is very little engagement and stimulation and that my relative spends the majority of their days on their own. I have never seen a manager or any management despite visiting regularly. A couple of staff are very good but a few are concerning. The food mostly looks very good.
I can only say that my wife is looked after exceptionally well I could not have a better place for her to be.
Our mum came to this home with advanced dementia and could not have been placed anywhere better! The entire staff, from reception, care (day and night), domestics, catering, laundry and management were caring, kind and supportive, not just to Mum but also to the family. We cannot recommend this home enough. If you have a relative that needs residential nursing care, then this should be your point of call. Even when Mum sadly passed, all the staff were calm, professional and supportive of our family! Thank you to everyone.
I am very pleased with the care given to my mother and also the entertainment provided. The only things I am disappointed in is one of her hearing aids has been lost and the hairdressing facilities are not up and running. My mum has always had her hair done every week by a professional hairdresser which she always enjoyed. I hope at some point along the way this can be remedied.
My husband has blossomed since he moved into Ernstell House and the permanent staff are wonderful with him, caring and interested in improving his quality of life whilst recovering from a major stroke. The communal spaces are wonderful, it is a pleasure to visit him. It is a great pity that it is necessary to rely on agency staff, most of which have no real interest.
I cannot thank Ernstell House/Waypoints enough for the way in which they have cared for my sister for the last nine years. Everyone is always so caring and attentive and their dedication to the residents is clear to see. Thank you for all you do each and every day.
Only fault I have is lunchtime and evening meals very poor. Carers and cleaners and management very good.
This is a clean, professionally run care home where the residents are very well cared for. The staff are fantastic and often go well beyond expectations to ensure the comfort, enjoyment and safety of the residents. I must mention the reception staff specifically, who are always cheerful, helpful and very welcoming.
My overall experience has and still is one of total awe for the way my husband is beautifully cared for. Never have I arrived without a warm welcome from the staff. I have been updated (even with trivial matters) on a regular basis. My husband looks well, comfortable, and generally contented living at Ernstell House. Staff should though, in my opinion, be given free meals whilst performing long-houred duties.
