View Full Details of Sloe HillMy mother has been at Sloe Hill for the past 10 months. The care she receives there is excellent. The home is small and friendly and has a real family feel to it. The atmosphere is peacful and the home itself is in beautiful surroundings with a large garden. The carers are really attentive and cater for needs perfectly. My mother is really happy there and tells me how good the carers are (she would let me know very quickly if they weren't!) which brings great peace of mind that she is being looked after 24/7. On the whole, Sloe Hill has been the perfect choice for my mother's care.
Following an initial visit, Mum knew instantly that Sloe Hill was where she wanted to be. The professional and friendly team have made her very welcome and Mum is very content in her new home. There is always a friendly welcome when we visit too. Many activities are organised to which residents are encouraged to attend, as they are able and if they wish to. The food is all freshly prepared and cooked with personal dietary requirements carefully taken into account. The care is personal and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and if she needs anything, she only has to ask. It is comforting to know that Mum is happy, content, being well looked after and in very safe hands. Sloe Hill is a clean, comfortable and friendly home, run by a happy, caring and professional team.
My sister was in a care home that was closing down. She had been in this care home for 11 years and it was in a different part of the country. The change was a big upheaval for her. The staff at Sloe Hill are very kind and made sure that my sister felt comfortable straight away and eased the settling-in period. Nearly a year later my sister is contented and the experienced staff know how to cater to her individual needs. Sloe Hill is quiet which is perfect for someone who just needs a secure peaceful environment. I am very happy with the care my sister is receiving.
Mum has been at Sloe Hill for nearly a year and has thrived from the wonderful care. She has a great relationship with the staff and frequently tells us how happy and safe she feels. Mum loves the attention they give her and was overwhelmed by the party they organised for her birthday. We are so impressed that the staff have remained consistent since she started and this has certainly been a key factor in how easily she settled. All the staff have been very encouraging and supportive of Mum, nurturing her strengths and supporting her with things that she finds more difficult to navigate. Mum always loved her own garden and enjoys being in the grounds of Sloe Hill. Knowing her love of gardening, she has been involved in its recent development and is looking forward to spending as much time as possible outside this summer.
Sloe Hill offers a quiet and peaceful home. The staff are kind, friendly and approachable, offering support to the residents, and encouraging engagement with a range of simple activities such as chair exercises, scrabble and dominoes. The residents can enjoy a pleasant environment. The home is not suitable for those unable to interact with others or who may be disruptive. My father has everything he needs. There isn’t a coffee bar, an ice cream parlour or hairdressers, as some larger homes may have. My father would not get full use of such facilities. That said, the home does have a visiting hairdresser and a chiropodist. The home offers a warm, safe environment with home-cooked meals and an opportunity to socialise. There is a genuine homely feel to the place. There are two lounges which are very pleasant. There is also a fabulous garden where the residents can sit and relax. The staff are all lovely. My father is always full of praise. The nicest home appropriate to my father’s needs.
My elderly father came here in May 2023 when it became clear he needed round-the-clock care. Previously, his routine was totally out of sync, and he was terribly confused, often unsteady on his feet and having fallen. After he moved into Sloe Hill, he was a little unsettled at first, as most people are. Now though, he is very happy having made some friends with other residents. His routine is properly in line, and he isn’t anywhere near as confused as he was, and he is no longer having falls. The staff and management are very friendly and caring; they do their absolute best to make the residents happy. The location is lovely and quiet, the home itself is a beautiful building, and there is a large garden, which is very pleasant during the summer when visitors come. Dad especially enjoys visits to the sister care home for lunch on a Wednesday; the staff definitely make sure everyone is suitably entertained. Very happy in the knowledge that Dad is safe and being looked after well.
I visited my friend's dad when I was in the area and was blown away by how things have changed at Sloe Hill since I visited several years ago. It is a small home run by a local family and my friend is very happy there after being very lonely whilst living at home. His health had also started to deteriorate as he was not looking after himself and whist he was reluctant to make the move, I can see the improvement that has occurred in only a couple of months. He has a lovely, cosy room that overlooks the garden which he made good use of during the summer and we enjoyed sitting there during my visits. I was also surprised to be offered lunch during my visit, but realise that this is the benefit of residing in a small home. I am looking forward to visiting again when I am next in the area.
Sloe Hill is a very well-run home with a warm, friendly and calm atmosphere. With the support of the staff, my mum has settled well and is very happy here. She has much praise for the staff, who she says ‘’can’t do enough for us’’ and who are at all times considerate, respectful and caring.
The staff at Sloe Hill gave my mother the best of care and attention and particularly when the last few weeks were rather difficult for her. It has a very homely atmosphere where they offer individual and personal care and nothing is too much trouble.
