View Full Details of Dene Court Care HomeMy Mum has been in Dene court for 6 months now, she has received the most excellent care. I honestly cannot fault Dene Court, from the cleanliness of every room to the highest possible care and attention each resident receives. There are activities done daily to keep everyone entertained, trips organised to various places and even entertainment brought in. The food is outstanding with plenty of choices, homemade cakes and treats every day. The best thing about Dene Court is the incredible staff, from the first day my mum arrived she has been looked after with the up most care and respect. I am extremely lucky to have found a home for my mum where she feels safe, happy, loved and enjoys. We as a family cannot recommend Dene Court enough.
Dene Court and staff have literally given me my nan back; there are no amount of words to express how incredible our experience with Dene Court has been. My nan was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer live at home; the step to get my nan into a care home was made so much easier with the guidance of the management at Dene Court. My nan is now in a safe, comfortable, clean and incredible environment. Nan receives the most amazing daily care; the staff now feel like friends to us and family to my nan. My nan loves the vast menu served every day, tea and homemade cakes every afternoon. Activities done daily arts, crafts, bingo, entertainment, visits from the birds of prey bringing in the most amazing owls and day trips to lovely places. I have never seen a more clean place, the staff work incredibly hard to maintain the home making it feel so homely. My nan is always treated with dignity and respect. Smiles have now been put back on my nan face and ours thanks to Dene Court Staff.
My mum became a resident of Dene Court in the Summer of 2021, from the time she arrived the staff have been incredibly supportive and helpful. We are always made extremely welcome when we visit, Mum's room is always kept clean, tidy and well looked after. We are regularly updated as to Mum's welfare and as a family, we are all extremely grateful. Everyone who works there is extremely professional and caring with the residents, during the week there are lots of different activities, which we feel makes all the difference to Mum's well-being. As a family we feel, Dene Court is the perfect place for Mum.
Mum’s been at the home for a few years now and she certainly enjoys her life there, the staff are always professional but most importantly friendly and supportive of any family matters. The home is clean and well-maintained with some modern equipment available.
Dad is very settled in Dene Court, he has a lovely relationship with the staff who he keeps on their toes, he happily joins in the various activities within the home and with the other residents, I am also very happy with the care and consideration given by all the staff from the top to the bottom which has helped me relax knowing he is so well cared for. Thank You.
My mother stayed in Dene Court for two weeks to enable myself, her daughter, to have much needed respite. I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better home for my mother to have stayed in. The manager was extremely kind and caring and goes above and beyond to help. He has chosen his staff so well too as they were all kind and caring which shows as soon as you walk through the door with their happy attitude. I can’t begin to thank them enough for taking such good care of my mother. It was the first time my mother has ever been away from me but I left without any worries at all as knew she was in capable hands. The food was home-cooked with wine being offered much to my mum's delight, regular entertainment was just what my mother needed too. Never thought she would enjoy painting and exercising, but the pictures proved me wrong. Weekly outings to Greendale were enjoyed. Keep up the good work.
Mum has been a resident for over a year now. Naturally, we felt unsure as to how things would turn out. Especially as Mum had dementia and looked generally unwell with ulcers on her legs. One year on and Mum looks so much better and she smiles just like she used to. All the staff have been lovely and have a friendly down to earth attitude. Thank you for doing your best to make Mum's life a happy one.
Dene Court is a wonderful care home. Staff are very dedicated, professional and polite to both residents and visitors. The quality of care of outstanding. The staff treat residents with dignity and respect and are very supportive of family members. Dene Court provides an excellent safe and homely environment, very clean and nicely furnished establishment and daily menus are excellent. We appreciate everything that Dene Court do for Mum and they are an excellent example of what a care home should be.
Every time I visit my mum she is always very happy and well cared for. She always smiles when staff come into her room. The staff are always very welcoming and give me an update on Mum before I visit her which I find very helpful. The home arranges a lot of activities for the residents and they always look like they are having good fun. I wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else.
My dad moved into Dene Court on the day the country went into lockdown for the first time. I cannot speak highly enough of the team. The care they gave Dad and the care given to us as a family was wonderful and helped us to deal with a very difficult situation. Dad always had a smile on his face and everyone on the team were so kind and patient with him. He enjoyed the meals in their lovely dining room and he loved his frequent tea and biscuits. I am so pleased he went to Dene Court.
My mum has been at Dene Court for just over two years. Like many others, I was apprehensive about Mum going into a care home but it has been the best move for her. She is safe, well looked after and the staff are like her second family. It is heartwarming to see the genuine affection that staff have for all residents in the home. The effort that Dene Court go to for special occasions is amazing, the recent coronation being one of them. The decorations that go up, especially in the dining room, the special menus and the engagement of residents in celebrating different occasions is brilliant! Birthdays are also made such a special occasion for every single resident and are so much appreciated by my family. The thing that really makes Dene Court a success is the people, their devotion to looking after all residents are commendable. It is clear that the strong care ethic from the management cascades to all.
During the 5 years+ that our mother was a resident of Dene Court Care Home, Exeter, my brother and I were very impressed by both the management and personal care shown to her. Despite being afflicted with Alzheimer's during this time, she would always say "Thank you" to those members of staff who tended to her needs! I think this simple gesture speaks volumes to the gratitude we as a family felt towards those working as a team at Dene Court, to ensure the well-being and comfort of all the residents there. Thank you all once again for ensuring our mother's final years were happy ones!
My mother lived at Dene Court for her last years, until her death in March 2023. Alzheimer’s disease never worsened as we had feared it might. My mother told me, throughout her life there, that she was happy at Dene Court and liked living there. The care home staff were caring, compassionate and patient with my mother. They treated her with respect and dignity and took the trouble to build an appropriate caring relationship with her, encouraging her to join in the craft activities that she loved and to interact with the visiting pets as therapy dogs. The care home staff were incredibly supportive, caring, compassionate and patient with my family, proactively providing information about my mother’s well-being. My mother died in the home that she loved, surrounded by her family and had as natural and peaceful a death as is possible today. Throughout her last days, the care home staff were helpful, cooperative and patient with her and with me and all of our family.
My mum has been a resident of Dene Court for over a year since it became clear that she could no longer live independently. The staff have shown her immense compassion and kindness. They have encouraged her to enjoy her life once more and I cannot speak too highly of them. I know that she is being well cared for, which is ultimately all that matters.
We were very happy with the way my mother was looked after and cared for by all the staff at the care home. They gave her excellent care right up to when she passed away in March 2022. The excellent care continued towards us even after she passed away.
My mum went into Dene Court when caring for her at home was no longer safe. We were apprehensive at first but in visiting the home before making our mind up, we knew this was going to be the best place for Mum and we were never disappointed. Ten days after Mum moved into Dene Court, sadly the home went into lock down which was extremely difficult for us all but Mum was so well looked after. The home made sure they kept the residents safe and did internal activities with them. We had regular updates and photos of Mum which was very comforting due to not being able to visit her. Mum's care was always the main thing and we cannot say anything negative about the home, all of the staff and ultimately the care Mum received. The home never smelt, which you sometimes get with care/nursing homes. Mum and all of the other residents were always clean and happy. Having a hairdresser come in regularly was lovely and also a nail technician, as mum loved being pampered.
My aunt loved living here, she made friends with other residents and the staff were lovely with her, she used to say I’ve got a lovely room and they do my washing and cook my food, I know she felt very safe there, I’ve got some lovely photos of her enjoying the activities there. When my aunt passed away the staff were amazing one member of staff even came back in her own time to read my aunt's favourite childhood book Rupert the Bear, after my aunt died they were great with us her family and some staff members came to her funeral, I would without hesitation recommend Dene Court Care Home to anyone.
My mother had lived happily within the parameters of her severe dementia within in this residential home and the Manager, and her staff were always kind, caring and patient with my mother. The end of life care that my mother was led by the Manager and her team, was both especially the professional and immensely kind. Two certain members of staff were outstanding in their care of my mother. I would like to thank all the staff of Dene Court for their dedication and empathy with my very elderly mum; they did their best to make her happy.
Dear Manager It was lovely to meet you today after my birthday lunch with mum. She is genuinely happy at Dene Court and has already made some lovely friends which is so important to her. Thank you both for taking the time to explain the care and medication mum has received for her recent illness - the extra monitoring which you have put in place is a real comfort to mum and us. We feel that mum is in very safe hands and we know that she appreciates the care she is receiving from you and your staff. Kind regards
Most things pretty good but found the 'care' outstanding. Both of my parents spent their final days here and were very well looked after. It's not an easy job but the staff were genuinely caring and did a great job.
