View Full Details of Nightingales of KidderminsterMy dad was extremely happy in Nightingales for his 2-year stay. He was made to feel extremely welcome and very well looked after. Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly, helpful and 100% professional. There was never a time when we were worried that the home didn't have my dad's best interests at heart. My dad called Nightingale's his hotel and I can see why!
My mom thoroughly enjoyed her stay. She had absolutely no complaints. She particularly said the carers could not do enough for her and the food was like a home-cooked meal. She would definitely stay again. My own experience is also a very positive one. Everything was sorted for mom's arrival and all the staff were brilliant. Can't praise the home enough.
Extremely friendly and helpful. Mom has been looked after so well and is happier in herself. She has made great progress also in her mobility. We like how mom is able to be as independent as possible. Mom said she'd like more activities.
I cannot rate Nightingales highly enough. It is truly a rare find and having viewed many alternatives, was the obvious choice as the perfect home for my aunt. Over the three years she has lived here we have witnessed countless acts of kindness and genuine care towards the residents. Their needs are always the priority of the staff, even to the extent that during the coronavirus lockdown staff actually lived on-site in order to ensure the residents were protected from unnecessary risks of infection. In its beautiful setting, the environment is calm, welcoming and familial. Standards of hygiene are the highest possible and the food is excellent and freshly prepared to meet all tastes and dietary requirements. Most importantly for me, however, my aunt felt safe and loved during her time here and, even in her recent passing, the owners were among the staff who attended to her around the clock with the utmost vigilance, to ensure she died peacefully and with the dignity she deserved.
My mother has enjoyed living in Nightingales of Kidderminster for over three years. The atmosphere is comfortable and caring; the management professional and supportive; the staff dedicated and trained to a high standard. Apart from the excellent medical and physical care provided, there are activity programmes and discussions which provide mental stimulation. The residents are given choices and are treated with respect and dignity. I have consistently found all staff to be kind and dedicated. The management team provides regular detailed reports and remains supportive of relatives regarding concerns and issues. In the Nightingales family, one can be assured that clients are both cared for and genuinely cared about. It deserves the highest recommendation.
A characterful former mansion that is a little run down in appearance yet is kept constantly at a comfortable warmth and is always very clean and odourless. The large secure gardens to the rear are well maintained and are a pleasant place for residents to sit or wander in good weather. There are a variety of rooms over three floors served by a staircase or lift. They are comfortable, warm and well ventilated with good natural light. Each has a toilet and washbasin. Residents can use their own furniture and belongings and decorate as they wish. Food is all cooked fresh and on-site with a choice at all three meals. Management and staff are truly outstanding, always caring and considerate and very approachable. Nothing is hidden, the way the home is run is open for anyone to see at any time. A friendly place where residents are very well cared for.
My aunt chose herself to stay at Nightingales for the last 9 months of her life, having been a resident 5 years earlier for a short time. All the staff were excellent and she spoke very highly of everyone who cared for her. She was treated with dignity, patience and given excellent support at difficult times. Both management and senior carers were excellent in calling doctors and district nurses at anytime day or night as necessary. They always kept me well informed at all times. She was encouraged to eat and drink and join in activities when possible. End of life care was excellent, they were happy to nurse her until the end when her cancer returned with a vengeance. It was a difficult time during the pandemic but I visited in the garden. The coronavirus management was excellent with zero cases. Definitely would recommend to any prospective residents.
My father and mother have both been residents here. Both were well cared for, felt safe and were happy. They both received excellent end of life care and we were supported as family members too. Staff were kind and empathetic and were always prepared to listen. Thank you!
My aunt has been a resident at Nightingales since 2018 and she is very happy there. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and it is obvious from the staff's interactions with the residents that they genuinely care for them. The food is home-cooked with lots of choice and served in generous portions. Hygiene standards are extremely high and my aunt's bedroom is always spotless. There is always some form of entertainment for my aunt to enjoy. Our family will be forever grateful that we found this wonderful home for my aunt.
Excellent response to COVID, meticulous quarantine of staff, incoming goods, etc. Good 'socially distanced' visiting. Recently appointed, last 12 months or so, new manager is progressive and caring.
My mother has been at Nightingales Residential Home for the past 3 years and she has been happy there. Her room is very comfortable and catches any sun. She enjoys the food as well as the variety of activities available. The care team are wonderful and so caring, as well as being always cheerful. As her daughter, I am extremely satisfied that my mother seems happy and at ease.
Both my parents stayed in this home over nearly 18 months. It was so good to find a home where they could stay together in one room. My father died last October and my mother this January 2020. We found the care, kindness and professionalism in the home excellent. My parents were looked after so well and were happy there. Initially there were few activities but this has now improved. The manager has been helpful and caring and informative, keeping in touch with me. The GP services nearby were wonderful too, informative and communicative. The garden outside is large and natural, giving the residents a chance to go outside in the summer months. Both my parents died in the home and the final care was excellent.
