View Full Details of Crantock LodgeI stayed for a week's respite and it was the first time I had been a resident in a care home. I felt welcomed and secure. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and I was able to relax and enjoy good home-cooked food and company. I would be happy to stay again.
Mum spent a week at Crantock Lodge for respite care to enable myself and my husband a much-needed break. It was her third stay. Mum has Alzheimer's and the staff are very understanding of her condition and meet her every need. There are always plenty of staff happy to help. Crantock Lodge is clean and tidy and gives a real home-from-home feel. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are exactly what is required. We hope to continue to use Crantock Lodge for future respite care.
I spent a week at Crantock Lodge to enable my wife to have a week's respite. We both found Crantock Lodge great and the staff provided a very high standard of facilities and care. All members of staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. I enjoyed the food. There is no doubt I will return if/when necessary.
My best friend, who I also had Power of Attorney for, required 24-hour care after a stroke which left her with dementia and was cared for with such great dignity and respect. Her dementia gradually got worse in the 18 months that she lived there, some days she was fine and other days she was not so well, but her care was thorough, safe and loving. I was constantly kept in the loop about my friend's care and her ongoing needs They were like her family as well as mine. She suffered another stroke in November 2023 they immediately called the emergency services and after she returned from the hospital it was apparent that she had acquired an infection in hospital which she was not going to recover from and her family and I decided she was much better to receive end of life care at Crantock Lodge. Her last days were safe, and peaceful, a member of staff was with her 24 hours during that time and they were so loving towards her which I am so grateful to them for. I cannot thank them enough.
My Mum was taken care of by The Team from Dec 22 to July 23. I was very pleased to see the way that she was looked after and the level of personal attention that she received. The meals are very good, cleanliness is superb. Always plenty of staff on hand. I looked forward to visiting Mum and also seeing the staff and the friendly approach they have not only to their clients but to visitors as well. Receiving Mum's Great Grandchildren with great enthusiasm. I always felt that if I had any concerns there was always someone to speak to. I wouldn't hesitate to give them a vote of "Excellence" I still miss going to The Lodge as sadly we lost Mum in July 2023.
My mum has been living at Crantock Lodge for 2 years, the staff are all super and my mum is treated like a Princess! The home is spotless, and the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone.
When, during Covid, our mother started to require 24hr care Crantock Lodge proved an absolute godsend. At a time when other organisations offered truncated standards of service, the quality of CL's care provision remained entirely undimmed. The Management Team and superb carers showed kindness, good humour, and inexhaustible levels of patience and went above and beyond time after time. It was clear they had taken our mother into their hearts and gone out of their way to make her feel a happy, settled, and cherished member of the CL community. As Mum's condition evolved, the quality of CL's response simply shone all the brighter. The care she (and the family) received from the staff in her final weeks was nothing short of remarkable. We will always be so grateful to them all for that. To anyone considering entrusting their care needs to Crantock Lodge, I would have no hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly. It is difficult to think how someone could be in better hands.
Since November 2023 I have resided at Crantock Lodge (my first experience in a care home). I have found the care good, the staff very caring and I feel safe and happy.
Nan has only been here a short while and the care she has been given has been incredible. Seeing the relationships she's building with the carers is so beautiful. They're so genuine and wholesome and we always have the greatest laughs. Not to mention the food! I would highly recommend Crantock Lodge to anyone having to make the tough decision of a care home suitable for their loved ones.
My late mum lived at Crantock Lodge for nearly 2 years after breaking her hip during Covid and having a long hospital stay. I cannot praise the team at Crantock Lodge enough for all their understanding, care, and attention to all the details, medical, personal, and just little day-to-day preferences. The delicious home-cooked food was certainly a factor in building Mum up after her discharge from the hospital. They made a very difficult time much more bearable and I felt they were part of the team fighting for Mum's best interests. The support they offered, when Mum passed was also invaluable and very appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend this home.
Our late mother was a resident of Crantock Lodge for 20 months. From the moment Mum entered this care home she was made to feel welcome and part of the ‘Crantock Lodge Family’. All members of staff without exception took the time within those vital first few weeks of mum moving there, to get to know her, to understand her personality, her needs and her insecurities and in doing so, Mum very quickly felt happy, comfortable and secure in her new home. The staff went above and beyond what we as a family would have expected of them; taking the time at the end of a long shift to go back and sit with Mum again for a while and chat, or on a day off getting Mum her favourite cakes. The manager leads by example and this I believe is why the care home is so very special. Her unique way of caring for all the residents at the home is reflected in the staff she has recruited over the years. This care home is simply a ‘Home from Home’ and I cannot recommend it more highly.
I was lucky enough to find Crantock Lodge when my mum was unable to continue living by herself, after only three days of being there, I’ve got my mum back, smiling and happy, and with the sense of joy she hadn’t had for a while with the efforts of looking after herself. Being a small place it does feel like home and very friendly what was very apparent was the way Mum was listened to and all the staff found what she liked and what she didn’t and she was treated as an individual and not just a number. The food was always very good and fresh and The things that mum loved we got in specially for her. Her room was always clean and tidy as was the whole home a very pleasant place to be. Without a doubt, the best part of Crantock Lodge is the staff I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for my mum in the 18 months. Mum lived there. She was treated with respect tenderness and care and I will be forever grateful for everything you did for my mum and for us as a family.
My late husband was a resident at Crantock Lodge for nearly 2years and received the very best of care for his entire stay. Crantock Lodge has the feeling of a true home from home with all the staff offering the kindest of care to both residents and their families. We were always greeted warmly each time we visited with cheerful bright staff with big smiles and always the offer of refreshments. The family was always included in any proposed care plan for him. He was always clean neat and tidy as was his room. The kitchen staff were happy to offer alternative meals when required. Towards the end of his life movement became increasingly difficult but the staff always treated him with great care, humour, and most importantly dignity - a credit to them all. All his carers were as upset as we were when he died - a testament to how much they cared, but knowing how well he was cared for has been a great comfort to the family. Certainly, a home I would recommend to anyone.
I do not have enough words to say how amazing this Carehome is, they have treated my mum with care and understanding. The staff is amazing and nothing is too much trouble. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for me and my family. The Manager is outstanding at her job and always keeps me updated on anything that is happening with my mum. This care home is the best and their residents are treated with the utmost care and dignity. The Manager and her staff should all be rewarded for their outstanding work.
What can I say Crantock Lodge is a home from home, the staff are outstanding to residents and their families alike. While my mom was there her every wish and need was catered for, nothing was too much trouble no matter what time of the day or night, she absolutely loved it. I can never thank them enough for the genuine love, care and respect they showed for my mom and all of my family in the last few days of her life.
Our mother was a resident for 20 months. The level of care was excellent. The staff were superb, always pleasant and supportive, and taking the trouble to consider every need of our mother. Medics were available when required and other key service providers, such as an optician, visited on request. Food was varied and very good, and communal events with other residents were much appreciated. Cleanliness was of the highest standard. Our mother was very contented.
Crantock Lodge staff genuinely cares about the residents in a remarkably sincere manner. The level of compassion and attention to individual needs is truly exceptional. It's evident that the staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care experience, making Crantock Lodge a standout choice for those seeking compassionate and personalised care for their loved ones.
This is a lovely small care home. My mother has been here for over 6 months now. It is very well run, spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and compassionate. Meals are excellent with a wide choice on the menu. I can’t fault it.
Making the decision for my Dad to enter into the care system was extremely difficult. After much research, I decided Crantock Lodge was the home for my lovely Dad. From entering the front door you are greeted by a homely atmosphere and a warm smile by staff members. All staff are exceptional from the maintenance man, kitchen staff, carers, and Management. All have time not only for the residents but the visitors too. They genuinely have the right attitude and work as a family, supporting each other. You feel it no matter what time of day you visit. Dad is happy, and content and is given respect and dignity. They get to know the residents and work with them to cater to their needs. The chefs in the kitchen produce varied cooked/cold food, which smells delicious and is tailored to meet the resident's requests. Entertainment is provided and residents are encouraged to join in. Christmas is especially fun with lots of effort made by the carers. I highly recommend this care home for your loved ones.
From the time getting Mum into the home to now has been lovely! The girls are very friendly and helpful, and it's such a lovely little home. Recommend to anyone. I have no complaints at all. The manager is lovely and again very helpful.
