View Full Details of Brownhill LodgeVisiting a friend of my mum's who is a resident at Brownhill Lodge, I am so happy at the level of care and consideration and kindness shown to her and to all of the residents. The manager and all her staff do an amazing job. I, myself, work in a care home so I have a bit of experience in the industry. I have to say that the building itself and interior is a bit shabby and could do with some money spent on it, this, of course, is nothing to do with the staff who were all brilliant. A lovely atmosphere.
We really struck gold when my mum was given a place at Brownhill Lodge Care Home. To anybody looking for a place for their loved one, you'll not do better than Brownhill Lodge. The manager and staff were absolutely brilliant with my mum and could not have done any more for her. She was so happy for the last few months of her life, for which we shall be forever grateful.
The loving care my mother received all the while she was a resident was of the highest standard. The care manager excels at her job and ensures she surrounds herself with suitable carers. I have never been in any doubt that residents are treated with patience, care and consideration. They are regarded as individuals and their care is tailored accordingly.
The manager and her team have provided excellent care to Mum for over four years now. We know we are approaching end of life and the manager has done all she can to help us to prepare. A great home for our mum. Thank you.
My cousin was at Brownhill Lodge for a number of years, due to dementia and was always treated with care and respect even though her behaviour could be challenging at times. The staff and manager were always friendly and considerate and I felt that my cousin was in good hands. The manager has worked very hard to improve the care and facilities in recent years and there is a noticeable difference and works hard to keep the residents safe and well. Yes, the home could do with modernising/refurbishment, as it was not purpose-built. In my personal opinion, looks aren't that important, it's the care and empathy that counts. (My mother had respite care in a home that looked like a 5* hotel in comparison, but the care was atrocious!) My cousin recently passed away and the staff did their utmost to keep her calm, comfortable and pain-free (with the assistance of St Christopher's) during her last days. I definitely recommend it and would like to express my thanks.
I cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough. My mother-in-law suffers from dementia and at times can be difficult but the staff always treat her with the utmost respect and courtesy. She is well cared for and we can rest easy that she is safe. More activities to stimulate the residents may be a good idea and maybe name badges on the staff would be good as my mother-in-law forgets everyone's names.
2 Week stay respite for my husband before my hip replacement. Inside the Lodge needs refurbishment BUT the staff are wonderful and looked after him and me beautifully and always friendly and helpful. 10/10 staff
I am the niece of a resident of Brownhill Lodge. I cannot put enough words on how happy I am that my aunt was took in. The staff are so nice, happy and nothing is too much trouble. My aunt has put on weight and is very happy. The manager is so nice and always chats when I call.
My mother has dementia and settled really well within days of arriving at Brownhill. She has lived here for nearly 3 and a half years and all the staff have consistently given her excellent care which centres around her personal needs. If she wants/needs a shower at 2.30 pm in the afternoon, they make sure she has the support needed to do this. Where once she was skin and bone, she now has a healthy appetite and good weight. I can't thank the staff, managed by the manager enough. They do an excellent job with love and care.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for at least 6 years. We have always loved Brownhill Lodge. The staff are lovely and give so much love and care to her. We could not fault it in any way and only give praise to the management staff. Would 100% recommend Brownhill Lodge to people. Very high standards.
We are so happy that my mother is now a resident at Brownhill Lodge, everything about this care home is wonderful and my mother's health and wellbeing have improved considerably. The staff's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic has been very professional and we know my mother is in safe hands. We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Brownhill Lodge.
