View Full Details of Glebe CourtMy mother has been in Glebe Court for 4 months so this review relates to her total time there. She has been cared for in a very kind and understanding way. Mum talks positively about the staff and residents although she would like to have her old life back, being more mobile and independent but realises this cannot happen. This has been a huge relief for our family knowing she is safe 24/7. You all do a very valuable job for the home and for society in general. Thank you.
From day 1 the management, care team, and residents have been absolutely first-class. My father has really struggled adjusting to care home life. He held senior positions as a solicitor in the city, as president of a university, and as deputy chairman of a hospital trust, in his working life and has felt significantly diminished as his situation has changed over time. Consequently, he has presented at care homes with challenging behaviour. The Glebe Court management and care team have shown him unfailing support and immense generosity of spirit, so much so that their warmth and kindness have produced a remarkable transformation in him, for which we are all grateful. It is my view that one would be very fortunate to find a more caring and considerate community for an elderly family member in need than the beautiful one to be found at Glebe Court. I don't have a moment's hesitation in recommending the care home to you.
What a wonderful care home. My mum has been a member of the Glebe Court family for 3 weeks and is settling in well thanks to the Care Home Manager and her team. There is a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home, staff are welcoming, and no question or request is too much. My mum is enjoying the range of activities that take place throughout the day and is a big fan of the beautiful and well-maintained gardens. Every member of staff knows my mum by name. I highly praise the level of professionalism, the care, kindness and genuine interest they show to my mum. There are excellent facilities for residents and for family and friends who visit. My mum is enjoying the choice of meals throughout the day and being able to dine with other residents. At 97 and living with dementia, my mum has already made new friends. I feel blessed that my mum has a home at Glebe Court. It is well-managed and the Christian ethos can be felt throughout. I highly recommend Glebe Court as a safe caring home.
My brother was happy at Glebe Court and resided there contentedly for a number of years. The care staff were always helpful and friendly and kept me informed of his welfare at all times. I would recommend Glebe Court without hesitation to anyone seeking a safe and secure home for their loved one.
My mother joined Glebe Court in November 2023, she was immediately made to feel welcome and supported. The home is cleaned to the highest standard, staff encourage residents to take part in the activities available throughout the day. My mother enjoys meal times where she can catch up with friends. All the staff are extremely friendly and caring. Whenever we visit they come to my mother's room and offer drinks and biscuits. We are so happy that my mother was able to join Glebe Court and would highly recommend to any potential new residents.
My mum moved to Glebe Court recently, having been in care for 2 years elsewhere. Having had a negative experience previously, it is a total contrast coming to Glebe Court! The staff are caring and courteous, they have welcomed my mum warmly and she already feels at home and is happier than she has been for a long time. She comes alive during the services and has even begun singing again, which she hasn't done for years. The chaplain encourages Mum to participate and read during services and it is lovely seeing her do this. She especially loves being out in the beautiful garden which is designed with the residents in mind. Having an ensuite in her room has increased her levels of dignity. We are so pleased we made the decision to move Mum here.
Cannot rate the care and support of our dear friend highly enough. Nearly a year in residence our friend looks better than she has for years. She is now a healthy 91 years young! Despite living with dementia she has made herself at home and engages in all activities she can. The staff are patient and understanding that at times the effects of dementia is displayed and not her nature. The care manager went above and beyond to help her arrival at Glebe Court to be as easy as they were.
The staff at the care home are simply wonderful. They really do cater for my father's needs. I know that my father's condition is getting worse by the week. I know that he is in safe hands. One thing that he would like is to hear more music from his life, e.g. songs from the 80's/70's.
Really lovely place. My mum is really happy there. I find the staff really care and are brilliant with her. The environment is great and nice to be in. Mum is really cared for, as she has dementia and she loves the staff. She is safe and as a son, I can see and feel that she is thriving. I can honestly say it is a fantastic place that really cares for people. A great team there and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place of care for an elderly person. Five stars for all: care, diet, accommodation, staff, atmosphere, activities and garden. A great care home.
I find Glebe Court a friendly, bright and happy place. The residents always look well cared for. I like the way celebrations are made for whatever occasion arises i.e. Coronation, Easter, Valentine's Day etc... Entertainment is good, the furniture is arranged to give a homely feel and the garden area is pretty and safe and resident participation is encouraged. Staff will listen to any concerns raised and take action (very caring).
I am privilege to share this lovely home in beautiful surroundings. I am privilege to have a ground floor facilities. Carers on duty could a little more helpful when entering my room to give assistance. They do not seem to make sure that they are here to help or giving their name. I can not read their name badge clearly. It’s too small. Some carers are helpful, others just stand at the door and ask what I want.
I've been very happy with the care my sister has received since moving to Glebe Court a little over a year ago. The staff are very caring, approachable and engage well with her, quickly advising the family about any needs she might have. Her room is a good size, and both the room and ensuite bathroom are kept spotlessly clean. The pretty courtyard garden with a fountain is very pleasant to sit in when visiting on a sunny day. During the pandemic, zoom meetings enabled families to join in celebrating, mothers day etc. Our initial apprehension at her having to go into care has gone as we've seen the excellent care she's receiving at Glebe Court. We don't think we could have chosen a better care home for her.
I am so happy that we chose Glebe Court. Each visit my mother says "I love it here, I love my room" This helps me adjust to her not living with us. All the staff are professional, approachable, caring and kind. When I observe them with Mum, they look like a little family. The staff have taken to time to build a relationship with Mum and us. I trust that they put Mum first and we work in partnership, and it is great.
My sister joined the Glebe Court family in January after being in hospital and emergency 24-hour care after a stroke. As a distressed relative who lives some distance away , the staff were very supportive to my sister and I in navigating all the issues that needed to be resolved in settling her down to her new home. Since her arrival at Glebe Court my sister has made significant progress in her condition and has a much more positive attitude to enjoying her life. This is due to the care and attention she receives from all the staff. The recently refurbished premises provide a very comfortable environment. To see my sister embrace her new world with such enthusiasm at her age is a great source of comfort. Regular testing of COVID means that at the time of writing, there is no current case in the home. Thank you Glebe Court with all my heart
