View Full Details of Penerley Lodge Care CentreMy mother recently had her 90th birthday and the staff at Penerley Lodge Care Centre were so kind and welcoming to us. They bought my mum flowers and a card and they were happy to collect a special cake we had ordered locally. On my mum's birthday the staff at Penerley served us tea and birthday cake and put some music on so we could enjoy a dance together. It made it a very special afternoon and my mum really enjoyed herself.
Mum recently celebrated her 95th birthday. They all had Birthday cake and balloons which the home bought for her and they gave her an Elvis Presley day, which she loved. She had a very enjoyable day. Penerley is a lovely care home, and all the staff are caring people.
All care staff went above and beyond to make my mother's special Birthday celebration a happy and memorable day for her and the family. They take great care on a daily basis ensuring she is well looked after, all her needs are met and that she feels comfortable and relaxed.
I am a regular visitor to Penerley Lodge and always find the staff very friendly. We love to go to all the events and Christmas was wonderful. Presents for all! Mum's always kept clean and tidy. Me and my family are happy Mum is being well looked after.
My nan has just been accepted to Penerley Lodge. Obviously this is a such a stressful time for my nan and her family. I visited her and was very happy with the home and the staff seem great. It's early days but I feel positive about the situation.
I've had good relations with the team at Penerley since Mum went in to stay permanently. It's always devastating managing the process but the staff have been great along with the management team. Obviously, the situation isn't ideal, Mum doesn't want to be there but with her dementia there really is no other option. Mum has a nice room, with an en-suite and she's making friends and family are close by so we get to take her out regularly and keep an eye on her. It's always tricky getting the balance right as mum is quite capable of wanting to make a cup of tea but health and safety and the wide range of conditions other residents have means she can't have that freedom which is understandable. For us moving mum into Penerley was devastating but we know she's safe and being looked after and that's the best you can hope for in these situations. It's not a huge place but I'd like to see a smaller quiet TV/reading room away from the main lounge and bustle.
My father spent the last four years of his life in Penerley Lodge and I am very happy that he did. The staff members were caring and compassionate, and a genuine rapport was built with him. He was well looked after, clean, and comfortable, and communication about any doctors or hospital appointments which he had were good. We were always welcomed when we visited, and when my father sadly passed away, his friends from Penerley Lodge were brought along to attend his funeral. Along with the lovely floral tribute which was also sent, this exceeded our expectations. We will always be grateful to Penerley Lodge for the care which they provided to my father.
My mum was a resident at Penerley Lodge for 3 years. During that time, I always found all the staff caring, compassionate and friendly. My mum was well cared for, and I was always kept informed about her health and care. I usually visited a least twice a week and was made to feel very welcome, often joining in with the activities in the afternoons. Sadly, my mum passed away in June, but the care she and my family were given at the end of her life was exemplary. Many thanks to you all for the support and care you gave my mum and family.
Penerley Lodge is the place where your loved ones will be cared for as you do for them at home. My mum spent nearly three years at Penerley and with exceptional care from the ladies in the kitchen, housekeepers and maintenance guy to the head carers, she flourished. Outstanding staff! The support I received in Mum's last days was something I will never forget. Thank you, everyone, at Penerley Lodge.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care manager, general manager and admin are all a huge asset to this place. They are all so helpful and go above and beyond to ensure Mum is happy. Excellent communication between the home and myself, they will call to check/clarify things. There is a lady who is also very lovely and always willing to help.
What I can see is the staff are brilliant, hygiene wise it is five stars. My uncle is looked after very well and he is very happy to be in Penerley Lodge.
Not really sure that Penerley is able to cater for clients with dementia. Within 3 months our relative had two falls. Supervision of dementia clients is poor at best, we were pressured to pay extra for 1:1 care, having been reassured that they were able to cater for dementia.
Good feeling on the inital viewing and the residents all looked happy and well cared for. The staff look happy and enjoy their work and good interactions with residents.
I visit Penerley Court on a weekly basis and am constantly impressed with the level of care and dignity that is always shown to all individual residents regardless of the challenges that are presented. I hope that when the time does arrive for me to seek assisted living that I may be fortunate enough to come here.
My brother has been a resident for a little over a year. After a recent stay in the hospital, he has returned to the home. He was so happy to be back at the home and the care has been utterly brilliant. He now needs more care than before and this has been provided by the excellent carers. Their attention to detail is exceptional and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart. It's as if the staff are members of my family.
We, as a family, are very pleased with Penerley Lodge. All the staff looked after my dad very well.
Since my sister has been here, the staff have made us very welcome. Communication is excellent and my sister is being looked after very well.
Always very friendly staff and helpful. Residents are friendly and happy when I visit. The home is kept very clean.
Every time I've been to Penerley Lodge, everyone is so friendly and as far as I can see are good and respectful to the people that live here. They also have a variety of activities for them.
My mother has been a resident at Penerly Lodge for over a year now. The staff are considerate, kind, caring, helpful and understanding towards my mother and, whenever I phone or visit, with me as well. I am very happy that she is at this care home as her Alzheimer's is progressed and she's difficult to deal with sometimes.
