View Full Details of The SwallowsI find the staff very helpful and understanding especially during the reconstruction work taking place over the last months I know nothing about the costs plus I have not been to my partners room since alterations started so I have not been able complete these two questions. The staff are extremely patient with the residents who are sometimes very difficult to deal with.
My wife entered The Swallows after being asked to leave a previous so-called care home after 6 months as being diagnosed with E.M.I since. I was desperate to find her a new home. I was lucky enough to be recommended to The Swallows. She has been at the home since August 2024 and seems much happier and I am more than pleased with the care she is receiving. She had 2 bad falls in the previous home but I am pleased to say she seems much safer at The Swallows which is a great deal off of my mind.
It is a pleasure to witness how caring the staff are towards clients. It seems nothing is too much trouble.
Quality care home. Kind and considerate. Couldn't ask for a better place for my mum. The carers are amazing. Very hardworking owner too.
My mother moved into The Swallows at the end of 2023. I have been delighted with the care she has received. The transition from sheltered housing was very tricky but the incredible staff were so supportive and reassuring and Mum has now settled well. The Swallows feels more like a home than an institution.
I am happy with the communication with the care home all staff that have assisted me when I visited were very caring polite and helpful. Phone calls are answered politely and any request I made was completed. The resident I visit is always dressed well, clean and happy and to see her happy makes me feel happy and contented.
All of the staff work exceptionally hard to provide a happy and safe environment for the residents. My dad was a resident for over 2 years and he was treated with dignity and respect. The staff encouraged Dad to do things, taking into account his feelings on any particular day. Visitors are made to feel very welcome. The staff are amazing, so kind, polite and patient.
I visit The Swallows to see my friend. The staff are very knowledgeable, caring and understanding of my friend's needs and habits. They encourage her to be herself and to interact with the other residents. The home is very well run and have been extremely accommodating when I’ve rang to ask a question about visiting.
The care home my aunt is in, I cannot fault it. She is looked after very well and all the staff are very polite. You are always welcomed with a smile, they are such lovely people. We are given private rooms for our visits, we are always offered refreshments and staff are always around to help if needed, you don’t have to go far out of the room to find a member of staff and I’ve spoken to other residents in there and all the ones I’ve spoken to seem very happy.
I guess as with most people having a relative move to a home is going to be traumatic for all involved, even if it is in the best interests of that person. I feel very lucky to have come across The Swallows and from the moment of the first contact call to them I felt at ease, the lady on the phone was very friendly and very understanding of my uncle's situation and it seemed like an ideal home for him to go to. Although he has only been there a short time he has quickly settled down to the routines and upon visiting him for the first time, it's clear he seems settled in himself and admits to 'not having to lift a finger to do anything' which he clearly likes! The care staff made us feel so very welcome and could not do enough for us and this was very reassuring. They have taken a keen interest in his likes and dislikes and his hobbies. I only have positive comments about The Swallows and all the staff and thank them for being such caring people.
I use The Swallows for respite care for my mother. The staff are very knowledgeable, caring and understanding of my mum’s needs and habits. They encourage her to be herself and to interact with the other residents. The home is very well run and have been extremely accommodating when I’ve rang to ask for care at short notice. They’ve been an invaluable resource for care for me for the occasions that I’ve needed additional care. I can relax when she’s in their care. A very reasonable price for quality care and I thoroughly recommend them.
I am so pleased with The Swallows. I am always welcomed by the staff who are very friendly and happy to talk to me about my mother-in-law. Since she has been at The Swallows, she has been looked after so well and she looks so much better than when she went in. I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say about The Swallows.
Mum is, of course, mostly in her own world but it is gratifying that she is not distressed. She is calm, her mood is good and she seems to understand that she is being helped. I find the staff caring, helpful and always in good spirits, despite the many challenges they face daily, especially in the last two years. Mum has really good relationships with the staff and other residents and likes participating in activities.
My mother, a very independent lady, spent the last year of her life at the Swallows. When she was at her most vulnerable, the care, comfort and love she received from all of the staff at the Swallows was exceptional. I, and my family, are deeply grateful to the wonderful staff and remain in admiration of the way they have coped, and continue to cope, with the pandemic issues in a professional and safe way. Special thanks again to all the staff. Your work is so important to us all.
My uncle arrived at The Swallows a few weeks ago. I have to say that the staff have been amazing. They are very welcoming and kind. My daughter and I felt the warmth of the place as soon as we entered. The staff work so hard but always offer us a cup of tea and a biscuit and will do anything they can to make my uncle feel comfortable.
My mum is a resident in The Swallows care home. She is well cared for. The staff are exceptional, always kind and caring. I am truly grateful to them.
My mum has been a resident for over 5-years in The Swallows, and she really likes the staff and the things laid on for the residents to enjoy. The visiting has just restarted at the home under Covid conditions, and they take great pride in keeping the residents safe.
My mum become a resident of The Swallows Care Home at the end of November 2020. I cannot fault the care that my mum receives from The Swallows, the staff have so much empathy towards my mum and genuinely care and understand her needs as she has Alzheimer's. My mum is a tough nut to crack but she is finally settling and enjoying living at The Swallows. Mum is eating and has put on a little weight, which to us as a family welcome the new look for Mum. Every Tuesday the residents have a pamper day, hair done and nails polished. The staff put on a lot of activities for the residents to take part in if they want to. My mum seems to like joining in with them all. Her favourite is the pamper session and the music and dancing afternoons. Mum's bedroom is spotlessly clean, and homely, so is the whole of The Swallows All bright and welcoming. The weekly menus look really nice. I can't thank the staff enough for taking care of and loving my mum like they do.
It was a very difficult decision to entrust my sister’s care to non-family members. We visited a large number of potential care homes and found a huge variety of facilities and staff members. When we came across The Swallows Care Home we absolutely knew we had found exactly what we were looking for. The accommodation, activities, facilities and general ambience were first-class but it was the staff members who stood out like a beacon on a very dark day. My sister has been resident at The Swallows Care Home for 15 months during probably the toughest time in care home history due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The amazing team of staff at every level have strived for the last year to do everything possible and more to protect and care for our loved ones. The activities have been a tremendous boost. In short, The Swallows Care Home is in my opinion much more than we could have hoped for. In the words of the song “simply the best”.
I can’t rate The Swallows highly enough. The level of care is fantastic. My mum is so well looked after, and the staff go above and beyond and genuinely care for the residents. The catering is amazing, the home is spotless, and activities are put on including pampering sessions. There is a real sense of community here. The home is well run, organised and safe.
