View Full Details of Abbey Ravenscroft Park Nursing HomeI have found all nursing and care staff to be very attentive, kind and caring towards my father. At times when my father was in distress they responded in a calm and professional manner. The home is always clean, warm and tidy. The food served is of a good quality with plenty of choice. My father has taken a while to settle into his new surroundings with the help and support of staff.
Very good here tended my mum very well.
My wife arrived at the home approx 2 1/2 years ago and in that time was treated with the respect and care I would expect from a nursing home. Also when I or my family or her friends visited her we were all treated with kindness. I cannot praise the staff enough for the dedication shown to my wife in this time, especially end of life care.
I can't say enough good things about Abbey Ravenscroft. Our father has been living there since February 2024 and we are incredibly grateful for the level of care and compassion the staff provides. The facility is clean and well maintained and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel comfortable and supported. The caregivers are truly compassionate always taking the time to get to know each resident and their individual needs. The activities offered are diverse and engaging, helping Dad stay active both physically and mentally. What stands out most is the genuine warmth and kindness that surrounds the whole environment. It's clear that the staff is dedicated to making the residents feel like family. We have peace of mind knowing Das is in capable hands and I highly recommend Abbey Ravenscroft to anyone looking for a caring place for their loved ones.
The care team are hard working but there could be more of them! Due to necessary record keeping the staff/resident contact time is less than would be desired. A CQC review in 2024 has seen a significant improvement in both the decor and care provided. The newly hired manager is providing some much-needed person-centric care leadership. My mother is happy and safe and with the new efforts in providing activities have seen her come out from her room with greater frequency. The food is improving too.
Staff are friendly, polite, competent, professional, patient and attentive. My brother has been treated with dignity and compassion throughout his stay, which has lasted several months and our visits to the home were always positive experiences.
The main lounge area has been made very pleasant, having been rearranged. The staff are kind and friendly. The garden looks good. My friend is comfortable and well cared for. They have various activities for stimulation.
My father had been a resident at Abbey Ravenscroft Park Nursing Home for four years. We truly believe it was the excellent care he received that kept him alive for so long. He always looked clean and nicely dressed. The carers and nurses were all amazing and so approachable. The reception and management were always on hand to help with any queries. Thank you again.
My father stayed at Abbey Ravenscroft Care Home from August 2023, up to his 'Passing into Spirit' in December 2023. Throughout, the staff were professional, friendly and caring. We were regularly updated as required. My father had a nice room on the ground floor. The food was excellent. The staff even made my father a birthday cake on the day. The venue is very clean and tidy. There is a nice rear garden. Excellent parking around the location. Thank you Abbey Ravenscroft Care Home for making what was a difficult situation for us, so much easier. We had peace of mind that my father was constantly well cared for whilst he was in residence.
Very well run with caring and experienced staff. His room was always kept clean and his every need was catered for. Moved to be near us on 17.11.21. Would recommend this nursing home most highly.
My mum went into the home on 26th March 2020, so both hers and the family experience is coloured by the pandemic and the transformation in the way homes are run. That is why - with a total lack of visiting until 15th July - I cannot comment from seeing it. However, both the manager and nursery staff have phoned and kept me up to speed; they have looked after Mum well in difficult circumstances.
My dad came to Abbey Ravenscroft Park Nursing Home following a six-month stay in hospital after breaking his hip in the summer of 2019. My father had been suffering with continuing medical needs for some time and was in multi-organ failure when he arrived and nearly ready for palliative care. We settled in very well as every single member of staff was kind and lovely to him from the start and throughout. Thanks to the dedication of the team my dad enjoyed a further three months of life. Even when the pandemic came and we had to visit him from the window, the team enabled him to see us and took excellent care of him. Truly professional. He passed peacefully on April 3rd 2020.
My mother was admitted to Ravenscroft Park Nursing Home on 19th March 2020, due to dementia and I could no longer care for her at home. She has had excellent care at the home and is being very well looked after. She is very calm and content. She is not distressed or in any pain. She is eating, drinking and sleeping well. Sadly, I cannot visit due to the covid19 lockdown, but when I phone, I am always told that she is alright. The home itself looks very nice.
My mother began her stay in December 2018. She needed a nursing home due to her lack of mobility following a leg break and early dementia, and Abbey Ravenscroft was our choice. From the outset, we felt extremely comfortable with the very caring and friendly attitude of all staff and management, which was sustained throughout her stay. Sadly, the last time we were able to visit was in February 2020, when the home took early preventative measures to avoid Covid-19. Mum was profoundly deaf and her comprehension of written communication had deteriorated. Happily, we saw her via a video phone call, spontaneously arranged by the home's manager, and Mum was thrilled to see us. Sadly, she passed two weeks later, and the home continued to be very sensitive and empathetic in our subsequent contact. For the length of her stay, all staff did a very good job, and we greatly appreciate the care and love she received.
My father spent over three and half years living at Abbey Ravenscroft Park Nursing Home and I wanted to take this opportunity to say how happy both my husband and I felt with the amazing care he received whilst living there. Sadly, my father passed away in April and although we were unable to visit him after 12th March due to the extra care the Manager and her team was providing to safeguard the residents during COVID-19, we were able to take great comfort knowing that dad was receiving the excellent professional care he had always received since arriving at the home from all the staff. Thank you to every member of the incredible team working together to make each resident happy and secure. As daily visitors we always found hard-working colleagues working together to give the best care possible for all the residents in the home, but never too busy to always stop and attend to their needs. We have no hesitation in recommending this amazing nursing home.
My step-grandmother has been a resident at Abbey Ravenscroft Nursing Home for two and a half years. She is well looked after and clearly loved by the very kind carers of this nursing home who always have time to chat. Her bedroom is very comfortable and she is able to look out of the window onto the beautiful view of the park opposite. The conservatory has recently been built which makes the common room an even brighter place with views and easier access to the garden.
My husband was transferred to Ravenscroft from the Royal Free Hospital after a fall resulting in a bleed on the brain, meant he was no longer well enough to be cared for at home. I was visiting at least three times a week, and was very satisfied with the care he was receiving from the very friendly and caring staff, both medical and care-related, who dealt with his often agitated, and sometimes difficult demeanour with great patience and humour. However, due to Coronavirus, and lockdown, I haven't been able to see my husband for the last 16 or so weeks, and this is very hard. The only consolation I have is that I know that he is being well cared for. Because he has no conception of time he doesn't realise how long he has been in the home, or how long since he has seen me. I telephone every other day, and can't always speak to him, but although times must be very difficult for the staff, they always take a moment to speak to me, tell me how he is doing, and ask how I am, as I do.
Although my Uncle was only in Ravenscroft Park for a short end of life stay after being in hospital, he was well looked after and the staff were very helpful and sympathetic. The admin staff were very helpful in advising us what to do after he passed away, and as we live a long way away, their local contacts and advice were very helpful in sorting things out easily and promptly.
The staff at Abbey Ravenscroft are taking incredible care of my aunt. She needs dialysis treatment three times a week and suffers from bipolar. Every time I visit, I can see the life in her eyes again after the long stint in the hospital before she became a resident. She glows when speaking of the nurses and always has a story to tell me about having her nails painted and hair cut (she's a very glamorous woman!) The staff here are clearly exceptional.
My mother was in Abbey Ravenscroft for only six weeks before she passed away on 28th February. She was very well cared for and the standard of care she received was excellent, especially in her last remaining days. They could not do enough for her. When the staff came in at the start of their shift, they would always pop their head around the door and say hello, even when the family were there and they always made you feel welcome. As a family, we could not fault the care and compassion that they had shown to us when she passed away. I am so pleased that we chose this care home and would highly recommend it. A great big thank you to you all on behalf of her family.
