My Father lived at Abbotsford for four years until he passed away in November 2019. He was very happy there. A large part of this was due to the staff and management who worked together well to create a warm friendly atmosphere, who knew the residents as individuals, and who clearly ‘cared’ for them in much much more than a functional sense. Continuity of staff also helped my Father (and my family as visitors) to feel ‘at home’, and is in my experience always a good sign. The accommodation is comfortable and welcoming with spacious communal areas and the large garden is interesting, beautiful and well-kept with plenty of places to sit and enjoy it. Dad enjoyed the food which he reported to be consistently good. There are a number of regular activities and residents are encouraged to join in, although there is no pressure to do so. I have no hesitation in recommending Abbotsford.
My mother was very happy in the home. It did not feel like an institution at all but felt like a home from home. The staff were always pleasant and kind. The food was very good and varied. Mum enjoyed sitting in the garden which is beautiful. My mother enjoyed the musical entertainment and the quizzes, her room was spacious, well-appointed and very bright and cheerful.
Staff care exceptional. Management is caring and approachable. Homely surroundings and beautiful garden.
Mum was a resident for three years (she passed away in April 2019). Abbotsford is a small, family owned and run care home with a very stable staff team, many of whom have worked there for a long time. The environment is friendly and 'homely' not 'institutional' at all. We felt very lucky to have found this place for Mum, who was pretty mobile and mentally fit, but not able to manage living by herself given various health issues. The facilities are always clean and comfortable, and while not 'state of the art' as in more modern care homes, the staff are caring and dedicated and the owner/manager has a very 'people-centred' approach. We have no reservations about recommending Abbotsford.
My Father passed away February 2018. He spent his last year in the care of Abbotsford Residential Care home. He was very well looked after and certainly, he was a lot healthier than he was when living on his own. He certainly was very happy and content in his last days. Everybody at Abbotsford is very caring.
My Mother was a resident at Moss Lane for 2 1/2 years and felt very at home there. Very poorly when she arrived, the supportive, kind and a lively atmosphere made her thrive and she quickly became part of the home enjoying games, entertainment, singing, great food and company. I thoroughly recommend Abbotsford, Moss Lane care home.
My mother received care in Abbotswood for the last two years, both daycare and a respite holiday admission. Throughout that time my mother was treated with great love and care by all the staff. The home is truly like a home. Every time my mother entered the living room she was greeted by name and made to feel welcome. My mother loved the food!
Abbotsford, Moss Lane is a wonderful, caring residential home where all the needs of residents are handled with expertise to ensure dignity, safety and reliability to all is constantly maintained. Nothing is too much bother and relatives are fully informed of all aspects of the resident's care. My father was a resident for 8 years and at the age of 101 only moved because we as a family moved 50 miles away. He is now near us again.
This lovely place is really a 'home from home'. It's a very warm, friendly, safe home. Staff are very accommodating and really look after their residents. There is a very large garden off the main spacious sitting area, with a summerhouse and a very well kept garden. They have a very good day to day routine with activities some afternoons. My aunt has been here for a number of years and is very happy there. I can thoroughly recommend this place.
Mum stayed at Abbotsford Care Home many times for respite care and always enjoyed her time there. The staff were very kind to her and she especially enjoyed the quizzes and sitting in the lovely lounge.
Abbotsford is a family run care home which treats all of its residents with respect and care. They are 'at home' rather than 'in a home' and the many long serving staff take time to get to know the residents and treat them well. My mother-in-law was a resident for four years and was sad to leave.
