View Full Details of Alexander House Residential Care Home WimbledonMy friend entered Alexander House in January 2023. Through to Easter 2024 a series of management changes took place which, at times, resulted in a lack of focus on organisation. Since Easter 2024 a new management team has been in place resulting in a marked improvement in all aspects of provision. Throughout my friend's residence his everyday carers have been consistently kind and thoughtful. I find them well informed about his care and health needs. They are professional. The Home is welcoming to visitors. I am received warmly and cheerfully by name. The food provided is very good and well prepared. It conforms to my friend's dietary needs and his preferences. My friend is settled in one of the larger rooms which enjoys a pleasant aspect. The room is comfortable and well maintained. My friend is happy residing in the Home. This is confirmed when I ask him and in the way he responds to his carers.
The staff are wonderful and have provided great care for my mum. The daily routine activities are good fun and stimulation for all the housemates. The staff always engage and provide encouragement for all.
Always a friendly atmosphere. Even when some residents are challenging the status quo is maintained. Activities are a welcome respite for all. Staff are very conscientious and diligent. Perhaps the communal rooms could be a bit warmer in the cold weather spell.
My mother has been at Alexander House for 2.5 years, she is happy to be there. By choice, she does not join in many activities but appreciates being asked. Each day the cook comes to have a chat, the carers are kind and made a big effort to help her celebrate her 100th birthday earlier in the year.
I attended the Christmas lunch and there was wine and a good selection of food. The staff were attentive and there was a festive atmosphere. I had expected live music but that didn't happen.
The most wonderful care home. My mum has mixed dementia and can be challenging at times. Since coming to this care home in July 2024 she has been so well looked after and understood by the kind caring team in place. Nothing is too much trouble and it is one big family and relatives are also treated with kindness and care. An amazing team of carers.
As usual, Alexander House invited family and friends to their Christmas party (this was my 10th party, my mother entered Alexander House in May 2014 when she was 89 years old). It was another fabulous party, with a cabaret singer who was first class. The food was varied and delicious, the chef really knows her business. The carers were their usual delightful selves and one danced with a resident. This was delightful to watch and somewhat unexpected because I didn't think any of the residents were that mobile! (My mother is now 99 and is the third oldest resident). The crucial point for those reading these reviews is that my mother loves it at Alexander House.
Couldn’t ask for better care for my father. A very friendly, warm and caring environment. Great communication from the management team. Feels like a home from home. Great communication between the doctor and the staff at Alexander House. Blessed to be part of the Alexander House family.
My mother has dementia and is getting the most wonderfully sensitive, kind and wonderful care at Alexander House. She has become very fond of the carers. They are all very kind and the place is very well run, as I see during my frequent visits. They are very good at keeping me in touch about her condition. She clearly feels totally at home. She enjoys the food. There is also a lovely garden where she loves to sit in the sunshine.
My mother has recently become a resident at this excellent facility. The accommodation is of an extremely high standard. The facilities are modern and of a high specification which made my mother extremely comfortable. Her personal highlights are the catering. The menu on offer is extensive and healthy. The day trips and other activities are excellently planned and thought out. The highly trained have made a potentially difficult situation, especially easy. They treat my mother with dignity and compassion at all times, as well as maintaining a very high standard of care. Would highly recommend it.
We are so grateful for the care that my aunt received at Alexander House Residential Care Home Wimbledon. The home had been recommended to me by a friend whose Mum has lived there for a few years and I am so glad she did. My aunt needed end-of-life care and was only with Alexander House Residential Care Home Wimbledon for a few weeks. The staff treated my aunt with such kindness and respect. We visited most days and everyone was always very welcoming of us too, which was much appreciated. It's a very pleasant place, full of light and has a lovely garden. My aunt was not able to join other residents for her meals or the activities and spent her time resting in her room but she was safe and she was cared for. We shall always be grateful to one member of staff and the team for everything they did for my aunt. Thank you all.
Sadly my mum-in-law's needs were more suited to a nursing home but one member of staff, in particular, and all, did their best to make her time there as comfortable as possible. Our family send thanks for their kindness during her brief stay. Highly recommended.
The staff are kind and patient and always have time for the residents. The rooms are light airy and spacious. The food is good. It is a lovely home.
My mother-in-law is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Her stay at Alexander House Residential Care Home Wimbledon has been very beneficial to her. We are happy that she is safe and well looked after despite a difficult year during the pandemic.
My mother has been in Alexander House for nearly three years. She is well looked after and comfortable. She especially appreciated the Christian ethos of the home and enjoys the prayers, hymns, and church services.
Very good care.
Excellent facilities to support safe ongoing contact with relatives. Great to be able to visit relatives and see the wonderful care being afforded to our relative. Very friendly staff, supportive and accomodating.
A great home, with staff that care. My uncle is very well looked after. The provisions for Covid have been excellent making sure he is kept safe.
My mother was a resident at Alexander House, and since her death, I have been a regular visitor. We live locally, and after viewing several other residential care homes in the area, Alexander House was the obvious choice for our Mum. Its small size of twenty residents maximum is it's secret. It immediately feels home as soon as you walk in. It is cosy and comfortable, residents share a nicely furnished sitting room, making a convivial atmosphere for conversation, reading and dozing! The staff are friendly, kind and caring. Their pastoral care is of a high standard, well catered for individual needs and personal care. The food is of an equally high standard offering a varied choice, using good quality ingredients, and served in a spacious and airy dining room. This is a Christian home, at its heart, there is regular worship. There is always a lot going on at Alexander House with a well thought out daily routine of activities and entertainment. The large and beautiful garden offers apace and relaxation in the spring/summer months. I would not hesitate in recommending Alexander House to anyone looking for a 'home from home' for their loved ones.’
My mother had a very happy time there. The staff treated her well and she liked everyone. I am particularly pleased about the arrangements last Christmas where my wife and I were included on Christmas Day dinner. Sadly it was to be her last for my mother. Thank you.
