View Full Details of Bennetts Castle Care CentreWe are thoroughly impressed with Bennetts Castle Care Home. Every member of staff is professional and friendly. They are looking after my mother who can no longer look after herself independently in her own home. Mum is being treated with dignity and respect. Her room is spacious and always exceptionally clean. Staff are always available to answer our questions, whether in person or by telephone. The management is very approachable and helpful, and understand the needs and sensitivities of both the resident and family. Calls to the Home are answered promptly and our queries are dealt with immediately. The atmosphere is upbeat and positive. I cannot recommend Bennetts Castle Care Home more highly.
My mum has been in this care home since April. I have always found the staff to be very pleasant and very helpful, we cannot fault them in that respect. The room is always nice and clean and if you do have any problems the management are willing to listen and help to put things right.
Bennetts Castle Care Centre is a wonderful care home. They have looked after our father so well. Kept him comfortable and in good condition at all times. Staff are very kind and attentive. Would highly recommend.
My brother was "discharged to assess" to Bennetts Castle after a lengthy hospital stay. Although all agreed that it was not the ideal place for my brother (as he is in his 50s and other residents were much older), everyone worked hard to make his stay as pleasant as possible. The home was always exceptionally clean, staff were pleasant and welcoming and we always felt the management team were "on our side." Through the NHS/adult social care processes, my brother is now doing well at home. Thank you to everyone at Bennetts Castle.
My mother was admitted to Bennetts Castle Care Centre in February 2020 just before Covid. She hadn't been looking after herself but within a few weeks, she was much better. Mum had a great time in the home and enjoyed herself, taking part in the various activities. It was great to see her enjoy herself once more. The carers and nurses took very good care of her, treating Mum with respect and kindness. The care centre is well managed and I always felt happy that Mum was safe and well looked after. The care home would always contact me if there were any issues with Mum, e.g. health or she was having a very confused day and wanted to talk to me. I would say that the rooms are ok, they are bright and there is a pleasant outlook onto the gardens, especially if you are on the ground floor. The only issue I would have is that the rooms could be cleaner, e.g. cobwebs and I did ask on a couple of occasions for Mum's room to be cleaned. Mum was treated with dignity when she passed.
My mum was admitted due to end of life and was looked after by the carers and nurses with care, compassion and dignity. My mum passed away recently and the staff hugged us and gave their condolences and a nurse said how sweet Mum was. When possible, they took my mum out to the garden which she enjoyed. The home is clean and the rooms are nice and bright with an en-suite toilet.
My friend was cared for at Bennetts Castle Care Centre from January to July 2023. She was shown kindness and respect by the staff as her health, sadly, worsened. The care home staff are friendly and approachable and listen to any requests regarding care. The care home appears to run efficiently and relatives and friends of residents are listened to and respected.
My husband was lovingly and wonderfully cared for at this home for the past 4 years. He passed away in June 2023. His needs were extensive as he suffered from MS and was unable to do anything for himself. The home offered well-trained, compassionate staff and stimulating activities each day to join in. Times of celebrations and garden parties where family and friends could join in are regularly organised. The menu is varied and cooked on the premises. Having experienced several care homes over the years for respite purposes, Bennetts Castle has provided a home from home and with understanding and love.
My father recently moved to Bennetts Castle Care Centre from another care home and I can't fault the care he has received so far. His room is lovely and is always kept clean. The staff have made him feel very welcome.
My husband is treated with love, care and respect. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Management is easy to approach. My husband is well taken care of in terms of nutrition and personal care.
I am very happy with the care my mum receives at Bennetts Castle Care Home. She is so well cared for and I could not ask for more. She is happy and smiling all the time. Everyone is kind, caring and very supportive of my mum and of us when we visit.
All staff do an amazing job, looked after my father and supported his needs. Would highly recommend Bennetts Castle Care Home.
The overall experience of staff and carers was good. Friendly atmosphere and high-quality care provided.
I have nothing but great things to say about the service and all staff here, from the excellent meeting with the manager before my dad moved in, to the exceptional care and friendliness of all the staff looking after him. Seeing him now interacting with others has bought happiness to the family. It was solely missed in his later years but now is a relief to see this happening. Being able to make his room feel like a home from home is important and we have been able to do this. The nursing team is exceptional along with staff assisting with his food and also keeping the residents entertained. Well done to all, keep up the good work and thank you.
I was extremely happy with the care my uncle received here. He thrived in this environment and appeared to make positive and happy relationships with all staff. He was sad when he was discharged as the home became his home. As a family, we are very happy and grateful for the care that my uncle has received. Thank you to all staff.
My mum was in the home for palliative care, as she had terminal cancer. Our experience of the home was awful. The food was poor, and very rarely hot. Sometimes they even forgot to ask her what she wanted, or even bring her anything at all. Near the end of her life, she was left overnight in a soaking wet bed, even though she had pushed her alarm for help multiple times. While staying with her into the early hours, my family and I witnessed residents being shouted at and grabbed by staff. On the day mum died, we were told we could take as long as we needed to clear her room, two days later they were calling insisting we clear it immediately. All the directors and manager were interested in was filling the rooms and making money, they treated our complaints as meaningless. I feel sorry for the day staff who do their best but would not recommend anyone send their relatives here.
Mum was here for 6 months with many medical issues not curable. The staff were always at hand and when we visited at least five to six times a week they always listened to us. Mum was always in full capacity for making decisions, which was respected. If she did not feel like getting up due to her illnesses, she was looked after in bed and waited on. Before Mum passed away in December 2022 she was being assessed and in her assessment, she had stated to the social worker while we were present, that she wanted to stay at Bennetts Castle Care Centre and not go anywhere else. During our time of visiting, we found all staff respectable and the care home manager gave us time to speak to us when we required updates. One thing we were impressed with was the knowledge individually the staff had about Mum and the interaction they had with her. They made us feel at ease, she had conversations with staff at lonely times. Facilities are good, food range is good, cleanliness no issues and staff are respectful.
My brother was very well looked after and cared for by very friendly staff and enjoyed his stay very much. I would recommend this home to anybody looking for a care home.
There is only one word to describe Bennetts Castle Care Centre - "excellent".
My father came to Bennetts Castle Care home with stage 4 stomach cancer. We weren't able to keep him comfortable at home. The staff are amazing, I cannot praise them highly enough! From the moment Dad entered their care to the moment that he passed just three weeks later, they couldn't do enough to help him. We felt assured that when we couldn't be there, they were looking after him. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful and helped make difficult visits much lighter. They even allowed me to bring Dad's Dog into the home, so they could say their goodbyes properly. The rooms are tidy and clean, the residents all seem very happy and the staff are the most caring wonderful people. Supportive right up to the end.
