View Full Details of Bullsmoor LodgeSince arriving at Bullsmoor Lodge in the new year, my grandad has been given a whole new lease of life. Nothing is too much for the staff, and my grandad's health conditions are never too big or demanding for their time or care - they are angels! I haven't seen him this happy or excited to get involved in a long time and as a family we're so thrilled. The whole team keep us updated with everything he's up to and we're so happy he gets to call Bullsmore Lodge home.
All staff are very helpful and kind.
Since my aunt has been here, I feel very happy to know she is cared for. I have witnessed the love and care the carers give to her. My aunt came from a big family and in our tradition, we look after our seniors but her daughtered suffered a heart attack and I was looking after my partner with cancer so we were very anxious to put her in a home. However, she has thrived and the care the carers give her is home from home, we are very happy and the whole team are so caring and we feel so relaxed to know my aunt is in safe hands.
The home was welcoming, clean, bright and secure. Staff were at the door to welcome us in, help us sign in and show us around. Residents looked happy and cared for. Music was playing and staff were helpful. We all sat in the small lounge together, the home is gorgeous and we would highly recommend.
My amazing mum went initially for respite and relaxation following a hip replacement and previously had a stroke and was diagnosed with vascular dementia, she was only meant to stay for a few weeks. I have always popped to see her or call her most days but clearly, the magnificent staff could clearly see what I could, she was coming on leaps and bounds in just a few weeks, I can't remember the last time I saw my mum so happy. It brought me to tears. I went to the staff in charge and said we will do whatever it takes, please let my mum stay here, I love seeing her so happy, loved and well cared for. Thanks to all the staff at Bullsmoor Lodge for granting my mum and my greatest wishes. She loves her comfortable bed, her perfect room and she is waited on hand and foot and is now living the life of a teenager. Singing, dancing shows, you name it, they are putting it on. I have seriously never seen such a place like it.
My mum has been in Bullsmoor Care Home for over 2 years now the care she receives is fantastic the carers and all staff are brilliant there are always things going on for the residents. Always kept informed by staff of any issues with my mum. I cannot fault anything with this care home. My nan was in this home many years ago. Some of the carers are still here, which shows you what a good place this is. All management and staff are always there for family as well as the residents.
My dear Mum was always fearful of ever having to go into a care home. Thankfully, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia and hip replacement at the age of 89, she went to stay at Bullsmoor Lodge in March of this year. She is now a permanent resident and is happier and healthier than she has been for years. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their round-the-clock care and love they all show on a daily basis. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for somewhere for their loved ones stay. Eternally grateful to them all.
We are so grateful to all the staff especially the manager at Bullsmoor Lodge. My mum is now in safe and professional care 24/7 and that is a source of huge relief and comfort to us after a very difficult time. My mum's health and well-being have greatly improved since she arrived at Bullsmoor Lodge. Every carer at the lodge is extremely kind and friendly. The facilities are very clean and there are wonderful communal areas for all residents and their visitors to have space to relax. The bedroom is lovely and the en-suite bathroom is perfect. I highly recommend Bullsmoor Lodge.
The staff and warm and kind and offer a good level of care. We are very happy with the care that our Grandmother is receiving however the company has just put the fees up by 8%, over £500 a month, £6000 a year with no notice or discussion. When challenged about this they blamed the rise in the minimum wage which is awful as the tiny (and very justified) raise in the minimum wage could not account for such a huge increase. Clearly, the company are only focused on making more and more profits. The fees have increased by a third in six years, they are now at an unsustainable level which causes a huge anxiety as to our grandmother's future.
My aunt has been a resident of Bullsmoor Lodge for 8 years and has always received excellent care during that time. I have always been confident that she is being well looked after. Bullsmoor has always been well managed and the communication is great. I love the regular social media updates - so lovely to see regular updates.
In September 2023, my mother, aged 90, who lived with me, spent two weeks in respite care. After her stay, she asked to go on the waiting list to become a permanent resident as she couldn't fault the care she received. My mother has mobility problems, and the staff were patient, friendly and attentive. The meals were varied and very good. In October 2023, my mother became a permanent resident. She quickly settled in and continues to be happy. In December, my mother became unwell and the attention and care she received have been excellent. As a result, she is much better and continues to recover well. My mother is a very sociable person and enjoys interacting with the friendly staff and has made a very dear friend who is a resident. The Christmas party for residents and family members was a great success. My mother described the New Year's Eve party as fantastic. Knowing my mother is cared for so well has relieved a lot of stress for me, and we both now have quality time together when I visit.
Mum is extremely well cared for in Bullsmoor Lodge. The home is always a happy place to be and even more so at Christmas time. Everywhere was decorated and all the stops were pulled out for a wonderful Christmas party with delicious food for the residents and families. All the staff show respect and love for Mum and all the residents. Mum loves to join in with all the activities and moving to Bullsmoor Lodge has given her family much-needed peace of mind that she is being well looked after.
My mother has been at Bullsmoor Lodge for nine years, and she has great care from the staff that has been excellent throughout the time she has been there. I would recommend Bullsmoor Lodge to anybody who is looking for a care home.
Mum has been a resident at Bullsmoor Lodge since November 2022. During this time I have found her care to be excellent. The staff all seem very pleasant and caring and cope well with Mum's occasional strange behaviour (such as collecting glasses and trying to do her own laundry). The food seems to be good and suitable for someone of her age. I have found the staff to be excellent in contacting me if there are any problems with her day-to-day care.
Our mum has been a resident at Bullsmoor Lodge for 4 and a half years now. We are forever grateful that we had the opportunity for Mum to be here. Considering the last few years and the terrible things we heard from friends and their experiences we feel very fortunate. It has always been a loving and friendly home, our mum gets on well with staff, and enjoys the food and we are so happy that all the activities have returned. The care and attention paid when something is not right in our mum's demeanour is excellent, we have never had to complain in all the time Mum has been in residence.
My mum has been a resident at Bullsmoor Lodge for nearly two years and in that time I have been more than happy with the care she receives. All levels of staff have shown support and kindness to both my mum and me. They are very commutative with me on all aspects of Mum's care and always welcoming when I visit, they have lots of activities for the residents and encourage families to join in also, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff and wish them a prosperous New Year.
Aunt was very well looked after by the staff of Bullsmoor Lodge. All of the people from the laundry through to the care team and management were kind, attentive and made sure her health needs were met at all times.
I have been in the respite room for five nights as I have a hip which needs replacing and mobility difficulty and painful. This is my first experience with a care home, and what a wonderful provision this has been for me and my family, who were able to go away for a few days knowing that I was safe and well cared for. Just every member of staff was so very kind, caring and willing to make life comfortable for everyone. This short stay in Bullsmoor Ladge has enlightened my vision of care homes, and if the respite facility here were to be discounted in the future, I and many others would be devastated. I congratulate Bullsmoor Lodge on its wonderful provision.
When Mum recently became suddenly unwell, resulting in a hospital admission, the staff were fantastic and dealt with the situation quickly and professionally. During her hospital stay they showed genuine concern and kept in touch to find out how Mum was doing. When she was discharged back to Bullsmoor Lodge Care Home, I was touched to see how pleased they were to see her and how they made a fuss of her - they are like an extended family!
My aunt was in Bullsmoor Lodge for just over 2 years, before her passing. Throughout her time there, I couldn't fault the care and friendliness she received. The home had a lovely atmosphere, very clean and welcoming. When my aunt eventually went into palliative care, the attention and kindness given to her were second to none and I can only thank them all for their humanity. My thanks also go to the senior staff, who have been brilliant and if I had to mark this home out of ten, I would give it eleven! Many thanks.
