View Full Details of St Catherine Care HomeSt Catherine's Care Home provides excellent care service for the residents. My uncle has been a resident for two years, and he is very happy there. The staff are kind, compassionate and informative. They keep you up to date with any relevant information needed. They provide the best level of care for the residents. I would definitely recommend this care home.
My mum, who has dementia, has been a resident at the home for some years now. I cannot fault the care she is given by the staff there, who not only cater for her needs but treat my mum like one of the family. As a visitor, I always feel welcome and feel that I can chat with the staff about my mum and her needs and they will update me regularly. I feel that Mum is in safe and experienced hands.
My brother has recently been a resident at St Catherine Care Home and I find the staff to be excellent, patient and caring. There is a good ratio of carers to patients and there is always some activity taking place.
I have a partner in the care home who I visit daily. My partner has been in the care home for over a year now. For this period of time, I can confirm that I am very pleased with the way that my partner is being looked after in the care home. The care staff are very friendly and very caring. The surroundings are very hygienic and the caring staff carry out all the basic rules expected of a care home. On safeguarding issues, I would say that they have met all the required standards. I can recur that on a few occasions when my partner was unwell, they never wasted any time before calling the ambulance to take her to the hospital. Whenever anything happens, they will always get me informed as soon as possible. Thank you so much for all you have been doing.
As someone who was already looking after my father and very tentative about the idea of putting him into a home, I can honestly say without a doubt it was for the best. From the very first day that my father moved in, he was looked after with the utmost care, and the staff went above and beyond to do the very best for him as he suffered and deteriorated from Lewy Body Dementia. A heartfelt thank you to everyone from the senior management team to the staff and night staff for all their efforts in looking after him during the time he was in the home. He was already on a downward trajectory, but having the care, being surrounded by staff and knowing that they were doing the utmost for him towards the end was a great reassurance for myself and my family. Thank you all again for the care you provided.
From day one, my mother has been treated with compassion and respect. She’s a victim of dementia and her mood and anxiety changes on a daily basis. I cannot fault any of the attention she has received while in the care of St Catherine’s, every one of the carers has gone above and beyond making her feel useful and wanted.
This care home is like a home from home. The carers are warm and caring. As well as caring for my husband, they made the family feel very welcome indeed. We appreciate all the carers so very much. Thank you all!
My friend is a resident at the care home. He is very happy with the service he is getting, especially with a senior; she has been looking after him very well, and just wanted to leave her a good message to say thank you to this senior for the good service - the manager is really friendly and everyone gets along. Furthermore, a big shout out to another member of staff; she has gone above and beyond for my friend.
My mother has been a resident at St Catherine Care Home since March this year. It was a massive step for my mum and the rest of my family, but she settled in so easily, mostly due to all the staff there; all of them go above and beyond to make her feel secure and at home there, and I can see she happy. And a big thank you for making this transition less of a worry for me. Have not one hesitation in recommending you all.
Having volunteered at St Catherine Care Home for less than a year, I have been able to witness the close bond present between the residents and staff. The staff are devoted to providing the best care for each resident and take their needs into account. There is always a positive atmosphere to welcome visitors and greet residents during the day. The staff are always ready to answer questions residents may have and ensure that their safety is priority.
Good caring staff and management. Very polite and friendly. Very considerate when it comes to respect and religion. My mum is very happy and content with the team and facilitates the care home has to offer.
I was a bit weary about putting my mum into a care home, but with her dementia worsening, I could no longer cater for her needs properly. We tried a couple out, but surprisingly alot of care home staff lack knowledge on how to interact with someone who has dementia. We then moved Mum to St Catherine's Care Home, and the difference in attitude is huge. The care home has a familial homey feel which Mum loves, and it made the transition there alot easier. Staff are very compassionate and caring - I have thanked them many times; I am also grateful to the managers as they come from NHS backgrounds and are knowledgeable and involved with the residents. The care home does sensory activities, and the activity coordinators run programs weekly to help 'stimulate' their minds - while I know this won't cure dementia, I'm glad Mum gets to engage her brain rather than sit around all day. I hope anyone going through this difficult process has as much support as I and Mum did from here.
Residents are extremely well cared for. I am particularly impressed by the kindness and compassion shown by the staff and management. The team of carers are experienced, professional and empathetic. Very good atmosphere, and I would definitely recommend.
The choice of home was our preferred option, and we were so pleased that they have a place for him. The staff are everything you could wish for your loved ones. Nothing is too much to ask for. The medical, social and loving care is very obvious. Even the cleaning staff are very pleasant. The manager is very professional and outstanding, but also approachable. I would be truly happy to recommend this care home to anyone - even if it is for end of life care.
Having been a regular visitor of St Catherine Care Home as a volunteer, I sincerely stand by their care for their residents. It is heartwarming to see the utmost respect and dedication that the staff show. It is clear the residents feel safe in their environment, and that the care provided for them is that of wholehearted commitment.
Cannot fault the service provided at St Catherine Care Home for my mother! Kind caring staff; they are always prepared to do their utmost to keep the residents as content as possible. Great team at St. Catherine’s, would highly recommend.
A lovely friendly atmosphere as soon as I was greeted at the door, there was laughter between the staff and myself, which is always a very good sign. The rear garden is beautiful, well kept with a bandstand, fish pond and waterfall, which all adds up to tranquillity. On a beautiful day like today, we were given tea, cake and biscuits in the shade. And a very friendly cat, not sure if he lives there, but he wandered in and out, so he obviously likes it there. The staff were very attentive to the residents, which I thought was obviously how it always is, and not because there were visitors, as it was so relaxed and natural. I found the staff very approachable. One of the staff took photos of my brother and myself and asked if he could put them on the wall, which I thought was a lovely idea, can imagine my brother suddenly seeing them. Doesn’t matter how pretty a care home looks, it is the feeling you get when you walk in that counts. And I got the care feeling. Thank you.
My brother was transferred to St Catherine’s on extremely short notice as his former home closed. They were extremely accommodating with the begging with his requirements. It’s clean and very amenable with access to all areas well thought out. There are always plenty of staff on hand and always a manager present should you need one. They have programmes for the residents each week to keep them entertained. Privacy is also ensured if required. The management has experience in this type of work in other fields so that is reassuring. Guidelines are always followed with records kept up to date. The staff always checked on us and always gave us updates on my brother's current situation when asked. He was always relaxed whilst in their care and they were very attentive to his special needs. My brother liked being there especially interacting with the staff! I feel they did their best to make him feel comfortable and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff. Thoroughly recommended.
