View Full Details of Eastbrook HouseMy sister in law has been in Eastbrook House for many years as she became unable to care for herself. We do not live nearby and due to health reasons her brother and I are unable to visit as often as we would like to; the brothers are very helpful in arranging video/telephone calls between us which also gives comfort to my husband as they are very close. The brothers are always happy to talk to us and tell us how she is doing, they recently helped us arrange a surprise visit for her 70th birthday, including help with arranging party food to share during our visit. They also arranged an entertainer on the day, when we arrived she was with other residents who were enjoying the singing, with some joining in and and others dancing, which was lovely to see. The carers are all very friendly and happy to talk to us about her, and she does seem a popular resident, they all seem to love her. We are comforted to know that she is safe, warm, well fed and cared for, well done to the team
I have been visiting my friend every week. I find the management and staff inviting and respectful. Management goes above and beyond to accommodate the requirements of the residents be it cultural, dietary, or religious. Ingredients are provided to make national dishes which my friend thoroughly enjoys. I have found the activities enjoyable and was invited to join in, in addition I participated during an exercise session which was extremely beneficial as I was waiting for a physio appointment! My friend enjoys the regular trips out with other residents to varies places of interest and places to eat. I enjoy hearing about those trips from my friend. During the regular afternoon tea, the staff has never failed to offer me a cup of tea. The home is well run, and has accommodated my friend extremely well where she was able to choose the curtains and wall colouring for the room she is currently in. The care is holistic, dignified and respectful.
My father went into the home in Jan 2023 The carers and management made him welcome as well as his family They asked about his likes and dislikes so they could make him feel at home nothing was too much trouble for us it was ideal in location access when we wanted to visit despite the hour. He could be difficult but they were patient when he needed medical help he got it Staff encouraged him to join in with activities He was taken on trips He was spoilt by a few members of the staff I knew he was safe and if I wasn't there he was cared for The day he passed in April 2024 he wasn't alone They took good care of him and us on the day I am still in touch with the home and some patients they are my extended family
A well-run family business. The three brothers run the home bringing what can only be best described as a family atmosphere. The staff are wonderful and caring and made my father very comfortable he loves the place. It's fair to say that he was struggling to look after himself prior to moving to Eastbrook, since he arrived a few years ago he now looks well-nourished and happy. Well done Eastbrook!
My father, who is 97 years old, has been at Eastbrook House Care Home for some 10 months. During this time my wife and I have noticed a great improvement in his well-being and general attitude to life. This is compared to the dark place he was in when he lived on his own following his wife's death some 20 months ago, Dad now joins in with all activities in the care home lounge and he is known for his colouring of picture books which seems to make him popular. Eastbrook House is well maintained and his room is clean, bright and very comfortable for his needs. All staff are very friendly, professional and helpful, it seems that no problem is too much effort. We are so pleased that he is at Eastbrook House.
My brother has been living in Eastbrook House since 2021; he previously lived with our mum, who passed away suddenly. The staff and management were great at putting my brother at ease at a very difficult time. They are just like an extended family to my brother and my family; we are always made to feel welcome, and everyone is polite and friendly. I am so grateful for everyone who is looking after my only sibling so well - oh, and the food is delicious, as my brother tells me every time I visit. I have moved out of the area now and did suggest to my brother about relocating nearer to my new address, but he was adamant he was staying where he was - this just shows how happy he is to be living in such a wonderful, caring home. Thank you to all the staff.
My mother (97) is fortunate to have been placed in Eastbrook House in 2020 when she was no longer able to manage alone. Covid meant her activities stopped, she became lonely, confused and suffered falls. The brothers and their professional and delightful team of carers make Eastbrook truly a home. The brothers are hands-on which sets the ethos. Mum is treated with respect, kindness and affection. She feels loved which is very important, particularly as we don’t live nearby. There is frequent laughter and joking between the team and residents which helps create a happy family environment. Mum is very happy as she tells us and we can clearly see. We know Mum is safe and well looked after not least when she has been unwell and attentively nursed back to health. The home is bright, cheerful and the residents are encouraged to be in the lounges which adds to the family home feeling. Eastbrook is a very happy home and remarkable in that we mostly leave feeling uplifted! A wonderful home!
I am so pleased my father is being cared for by the marvellous carers at Eastbrook House. My mother died eighteen months ago and they were married for over seventy years. My dad tried to stay in the house alone but increasingly became unable to look after himself. He became depressed and even suicidal, he kept falling over and injuring himself, relying on the red button to summon help. His hygiene and eating habits deteriorated. After assessment he went to Eastbrook House where he was welcomed and looked after. He has his own room, the ability to socialise in the lounge, he loves the food and his medical needs are attended to. He loves being there, never mentions ending his life and we as a family are so pleased with the care he receives.
Eastbrook House is a happy care home. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the staff get on well with each other with much laughter and joking and this reflects with their interaction with the residents. I have noted their care towards individual residents requiring e.g. feeding, help with mobility and nursing requirements etc. Live entertainment and group fitness sessions are provided regularly and occasional external coach trips are arranged. Medication needs are supervised, a doctor is on hand and hairdressing and chiropody facilities are available on a paid-for basis. Meals are excellent and varied. My sister is very independent and was reluctant to give up her home and move into care but she is now happy, fitter and healthier than before. She has been in Eastbrook for nearly a year now. I would certainly recommend Eastbrook to anyone needing care in later life.
My dear mum was a resident for over nine years at Eastbrook House, and it was heartbreaking emotional for us to take Mum to Eastbrook, leaving the house that she lived in for 60+ years. An unnerving experience for all of us, the staff were great. It took a few weeks to encourage Mum from her room into the lounge/communal area with the other residents, it soon became the daily routine of living there. And made it her new home. All the help, attention and support from the management and the staff made the whole experience easier. I will say as heartbreaking as it is, a family member that needs 24/7 care would not go wrong at this home. I knew Mum was safe in her own room, ate regular meals, had a good laugh with staff and residents, was able to get outside in the fresh air, health was always taken care of. The biggest most important thing from the whole experience is that I got to see my dear Mum any time of day, and was a quality I have very fond fun memories of. Thank you, Eastbrook.
This care home is the best, my mother of 97 has been in this care home for 4-years, and the care she has is fantastic. The brothers and staff are so caring and have so much respect for the people they look after. The home is friendly, and you are always made to feel welcome. My mother has gone through a bad few weeks, and I thought we were going to lose her, but for the care of the home, she has pulled through and made a good recovery. I cannot thank everybody at the home for the great care they gave her; they are all special people. Thank you all very much.
I have been visiting this care home on a weekly basis now for well over three plus years and have always found the management and staff to be respectful, kind, caring and acting in a highly professional manner to employees and residents, visitors and to all. Very recently they upgraded the facility and the residents love the new spacious environment and seem to be happy and thriving. Yes - I will be happy to recommend this facility to anyone who needs loving care.
Have been very happy that my relative is at this home. Staff very caring and the place is nice and clean and recently modernised. Living quite far away, I cannot always visit as much as I would like but I have no worries as I know she is being cared for.
Mum chose this home herself. She had worked in several care homes herself over the years so she liked what she saw here. Staff friendly and caring. A lot of them have worked here for a long time. Hands-on management team who are always around even at the weekend (family run). Home is well equipped, clean, regularly updated, you can see money has been spent on keeping the place up to date. Our family are very happy with how Mum is looked after. We looked at a lot of care homes and we were pleased we chose this home.
I would recommend this care home very strongly. My father and my grandmother both had the absolute best of care when they were here up until each of them died. Then I continued to visit and still do.
Staff and management when you visit are always welcoming, communication is very good. Interaction with the residents from the staff and management is ongoing, the atmosphere in the home is really pleasant and relaxed.
My mother has lived here for three years. She is well cared for and very very happy. This gives me peace of mind.
We are really pleased with Eastbrook House, all the staff are kind and friendly it always feels like one big family when I visit, mum is settled in Eastbrook House her room is light and airy.
