View Full Details of Forest ViewMum spent a few years at Forest View before passing at the Home in November 2024. We felt blessed to have found this home. The staff are lovely, very patient, kind and caring. The home is small so it receives the best hands-on management. The chef cooks lovely meals, mum was on pureed food and these were made with care. Mum's room was always clean and the same applies to the rest of the home. I witnessed (and participated!) in some activities, these were fun and fully inclusive. I would thoroughly recommend Forest View.
My 87 mum had been at Forest View Care Home since December 2019, she had a few admissions to hospital whilst she was at the home but sadly she passed away September 2024. Forest view was a lovely family run care home and the staff were also caring and lovely. In the time my mum was there it was like being part of a family. If I did have any issues with the care of my mum they would deal with the issue and listen to my concerns. I couldn't have asked for a better home for my mum to spend her final years. The activities provided for the residents was always first class. In the time my mum was there the garden has been landscaped, and they have continued to add interior improvements to the home keeping the home clean and updated.
My Dad has been a resident at Forest View for almost two years. Before this, he spent around 9 months in another dementia care home. I visited many homes before setting my sites on this one, it felt different, brighter, warmer, homely rather than ‘homey’. We waited for a space, during this time the support I received from the manager was above and beyond. My Dad is almost nonverbal now but he is clearly content in his surroundings, and with the people who care for him. The carers know their residents and the care is intuitive, respectful, and patient. I could not be happier with our choice for my Dad, it has been and continues to be an excellent fit for us all. We never dreamed that he’d go into a home but we were unable to cope with or understand the care he needed. My family has complete confidence in my Dad’s safety and well-being here. And we will be eternally grateful for the release of pressure and peace of mind Forest View has and continues to, provide. Thank you.
My mum was a resident for a year before her care needs changed and she required nursing care. Forest View was a proper 'home', small, very friendly where we knew all the staff and they knew Mum. They never employ an agency and the care is second to none. I will always be so glad Mum was able to live there when she did and only wish all care homes were like Forest View.
Our experience of our loved one's care at Forest View was unfortunately, not at all positive and they are now residing at a care home that is able to provide an appropriate standard of care. Our loved one's health deteriorated rapidly and in addition to local authority safeguarding being involved our complaint about their care was also followed up by the LGSCO. Many of the carers employed by Forest View are committed and show kindness and compassion towards the residents and the chef cooks some nice meals, so we have respect for a lot of the staff and the work that they do. We are very happy now that our loved one is able to live where their health has improved and we can see what a good care home looks like; it is worth paying a little more to make sure your loved one is well cared for.
Forest View is a fairly small, family owned/run home, and this helps to give it a very cosy and personal feel. My mother enjoyed her time there, was well looked after, and was comfortable. Staff are friendly and often long-serving, which is reassuring when continuity is so helpful for most residents. I was able to relax a bit, in the knowledge that my mum was safe, comfortable, happy and cared for.
My sister moved into Forest View in July 2022, although it was initially a challenging transition for our family, she settled in much quicker and better than we had imagined. Evidence of the care she is receiving from both management and staff. I witness regularly the genuinely compassionate relationship the manager has with her. My prior experience with the wonderful care and assistance a previous family member received during their time at Forest view is one of the reasons I chose this facility again. We trust Forest View's expert and consistent care, they are easily contactable. I received regular updates, and being a small family-run business it offers a rich personable home-from-home experience with great facilities; location and ease of access to nearby public transport parks
From the initial contact with the Manager, I just knew this was the place for mum. It all happened very quickly I wanted it to be if I am honest as Forest View was in a very pleasant residential area where I do my walks frequently and less than a 15-minute walk from my home. The next day the Manager came to assess mum. Whatever vibes she was giving off my mum liked her I did too. The staff genuinely care for their resident's wellbeing. Every resident is content and so is mum. Within three weeks my mother was a different person. She is so happy and at peace. It was the best decision and the best place for her. I have to pinch myself sometimes as I cannot believe that this care home ticks the boxes. The rooms are clean modern and comfortable. Again the staff are exceptional. A family-run business who are hands-on makes such a difference. If later on in life I have to reside in a care home, this is where I would want to be with the same level of care and service.
The communication with staff and management at the care home was good Would recommend the home to future residents Provides good clean value for money I am unable to provide additional information since apart from a few visits my contact with the care home was mainly by telephone and email.
Mum moved to Forest View in mid-January 2022 and was instantly well supported by experienced carers to quickly settle. Despite mum having some significant health issues since moving in staff have remained reassuring, optimistic, patient and flexible in her care. Staff at the home have delivered a bespoke personalised service to motivate, encourage and enable mum to remain as independent and content as she can be whilst ensuring she is safe. Mum's room is clean and bright and overlooks the beautifully landscaped garden which is aesthetically pleasing, providing a fabulous outdoor visiting space. Dogs, grandchildren, family, friends and recently a new great-grandson have all been welcomed by friendly staff at Forest View. Having spoken with the home's owners and regularly with the home manager, it is clear to see how important their high level of care is and that they too want only the best for our elderly loved ones. Our family are truly impressed and hugely grateful mums home is now Forest View.
Good clean accommodation. Excellent food, very caring staff. Owners are 1st class, engaged, closely involved in the running, actively engaged in activities. Always looking for days to improve. Good at keeping family in touch. All in all, an excellent care home and very good value for money; could easily up their rates.
Management is very involved with residents and family. Kept well informed of all details of my aunt's health and well being. When I had questions or observations, someone always spoke to me and to my comments on board. My aunt was well cared for with dignity, and most importantly, she felt at home and safe. Her only minor complaint was sometimes she did not like food options, but they always cooked her something else, so no complaints there.
I would thoroughly recommend Forest View. My mother, a very quiet and independent lady, had been reluctant to leave her home of over 50 years but she spent her last five months very happily at Forest View. The owners and staff made my mother (and me) very welcome and showed great kindness and warmth as well as detailed attention to the things that mattered to mum. She made friends over tea and homemade cakes, and has a room with a view of the garden as she loved the gardens and gardening.
Forest View is a particularly warm and friendly environment where my mum was very happy. She really appreciated the kindness of the care staff who were so attentive and hard working. Mums room was lovely and always kept clean. She also really loved the good quality food and the many activities she was invited to participate in. A really lovely care home which I would truly recommend.
Very professional and caring. Always accomodating and helpful in caring for my father. I would definitely recommend.
Very kind and considerate of my aunt's needs. Room was lovely kept very clean and tidy. Overall very satisfied with care.
My Dad has been here since January 2018 and in that time we have come to know the staff and residents very well. All the staff are the most helpful, understanding people you could wish to meet and the current manager, who unfortunately is about to retire, is unbelievably caring and has struck up a good relationship with my Dad. The home is warm, clean, tidy and well kept and when my Mum visits every other day, they treat her as if she is one of the residents. They are very easy going and will try to cater for any request you have. My Daughter and I even visit with our dogs once in a while and they have no problem with this. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who asked my advice and wouldn't think twice about sending my Mum here too if ever the need arose.
My Husband has had Alzheimer's Dementia for 3 years and has been in Forest View since January 2018. I had to give up caring for him at home after 2 very hard years and I couldn't have placed him in a better place. He is always well cared for and is happy being there. The owners/management organise various activities for the residents for much-needed stimulation and I am often there to join in with this. At Christmas, the owners gave the staff time off and prepared the food and activities themselves. They invited me to stay for dinner and join in the festivities and it was a thoroughly enjoyable time. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the care manager, who unfortunately is soon to retire, is second to none with her care and understanding of the residents. I visit my husband every other day and the staff, as well as the owners, are very friendly and easy going and always willing to help with any request you have. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
