It's always a very upsetting time when a dear relative enters a care home, but the staff were so friendly and supportive, my mum then preferred with her new friends. Freshfields is such a friendly home that 2 of my friends now have their parents living there too as my recommendation was so high. The doctors and day-to-day care with medication and personal hygiene have been dealt with great dignity.

The staff are lovely and all treat Mum with dignity and compassion, almost as if she was their own Mum. The turnover of staff appears to be very low which is a good sign. There is always a large number of staff on duty to look after the residents. Tasty varied menus are on offer each day. Themed menus are often put on to commemorate special events (St Patrick's Day, etc.) The bedrooms and community rooms are always spotless, airy and staff make every effort to personalise their bedrooms with family pictures etc There is a wide range of activities organised for the residents with frequent quizzes, craft work, singers, and days out. Medical care is amazing day to day and a doctor who visits every week. Hairdressers, Chiropodists, Opticians, Dentists etc.. regularly attend for checkups and pampering. We are so lucky to have found Freshfields for Mum. It gives the whole family great peace of mind knowing that Mum is being looked after so well.

I cannot recommend Freshfields enough, the care my grandmother receives is outstanding. The staff are incredible caring considerate kind nothing is to much trouble the facilities and surroundings are beautiful. The dining room is so welcoming and the meals are delicious with a wide range of choices . The activities on offer daily are brilliant always something different for everyone and the day trips are great! It's like home from home at Freshfields, my grandmother has made some lovely friendships with other residents. She is so happy here and knowing she is, gives me such peace of mind.

Our father has become more difficult to deal with recently and requires a lot of additional care. Words cannot really convey the care and attention the team at Freshfields Care Home has dedicated to trying to help our dad during his stay. The home is very clean and tidy and the food is excellent. Dad is treated with complete dignity and respect. Our thanks to all the team at Freshfields for your dedication to all the residents and the love you show them all.

Thank goodness we chose to reserve our judgement - despite the CQC report, which says this residential care home ‘requires improvement’ - which turned out to be simply because in 2020, they were not computerised! My 99 year old mother-in-law became a resident at Freshfields in January of this year. My husband and I have been very impressed with the outstanding care and attention that she has received during the last 9 months or so of her life. The manager and her deputy are exceptional in their duty to both residents and staff, making this residential home very special indeed. The atmosphere is so homely and you are always made to feel welcome. Many of the dedicated staff are long-serving, which always says so much for the management. Never an easy job caring for elderly/frail folk, but at Freshfields it is carried out with great care and understanding. Thank you so much Freshfields.

Freshfields has been a home away from home for my father-in-law. It was the ‘homely’ feel that was the deciding factor when it came to choosing Freshfields. The staff are very accommodating to his needs and provide a really friendly and personal/kind touch to the care they give. The activities and food are particularly a hit with my father-in-law, and his room and the rest of the home are always clean and comfortable. Thank you to all the staff at Freshfields for providing such good care.

An excellent care home with first-class management and caring, well-trained staff. The home is kept spotless. I am very relieved that my beloved brother-in-law is being looked after at Freshfields.

Can’t recommend enough what an excellent home this is. All staff are very friendly caring and helpful. Mum was there for nearly 2 years and we couldn’t have wished for any better care for her especially during these difficult times. We were always made welcome with refreshments and the end of life care she was given helped Mum and our family so much.

Staff always are friendly and attentive. The home is always clean and tidy. The food is good and plentiful. My mother is very happy and settled in after a very short period of time. Thoroughly recommend, it has put my mind at rest that my mother is getting the best care possible.

After the very very difficult decision being made that nan needed to move into a care home, we put all our efforts into finding somewhere that was perfect for her. We looked at over 20 care homes in the wider area and Freshfields was the only one we were willing to let her stay in. It feels like a house, not a typical care home and is lovely from the staff to the place itself. We are so so grateful that nan was able to get a room here and to know that she is safe and taken care of. Thanks to all.

I and my family are extremely happy with our mum being at Freshfields. It is always a welcoming atmosphere. We feel our mum is safe and well cared for. We particularly like that meal times are shared by all the residents in a civilised manner. My mums medical well being is always addressed. The food served is of a very good standard and staff and management always enter into any celebrations with imaginative decorations, entertainment and excellent food and drinks. It is a happy place.

Putting an elderly parent into a home is never a pleasant experience. However, the management and all of the staff at Freshfields made the whole experience manageable. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

We were recommended Freshfields by a family member and we have never been disappointed with how our mother's needs have been cared for mentally and physically and all of her health requirements and hospital appointments included. It was first stated in our interview that our mum's needs were their first priority and that has been completely executed in a first-class way. All the staff and carers welcome us with a positive attitude.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. Mum is well-looked-after. Always clean, clothes and hair looking neat and tidy. Her room is always clean and tidy, bed made. There are lots of activities, visits from the hairdresser and a regular chiropodist. We are very happy with Mum's care.

My Mum has been a resident at Fresh Fields for eighteen months now and in that time I have found the staff very welcoming. I usually join Mum for lunch and we're always offered tea and cake in the afternoon. It's always clean and tidy. Also at the moment, the lounge is being redecorated.

Our mum has been a resident at Freshfields for almost 5 years and has been content and happy. For 3 to 4 years she has enjoyed an excellent lifestyle and participated in all activities and facilities. She is now approaching final stages of dementia and unable to participate as she has in past years. Even so, the staff and management support her every need and it is a huge relief to know she is cared for so well.

The home is well maintained structurally inside and out. There is never the "smell" urine/old age etc. The accommodation is always clean and the food is of a high standard. There are enough activities provided for those that want to participate but there is also a quiet lounge for those that do not want to participate. The fact that the management and staff are not always changing speaks volumes. Probably the best accolade I can give is that if I personally need care have accommodation in the future, I would be very happy to go to Freshfields.

Mum chose Freshfields herself and has been cared for there for nearly 6 years now. Many of the staff have been there longer so those caring for her know her well, treating her with respect and dignity as her capabilities diminish. Knowing that Mum is looked after 24/7 by such a great team gives us kids peace of mind.

I have always found the staff at Freshfields are very friendly and polite and welcoming. My sister being a resident has always been satisfied living there. So if she is happy, so am I.

We looked at over 20 care homes in the wider area and Freshfields was the only one we were willing to let her stay in. It feels like a house, not a typical care home and is lovely from the staff to the place itself.
