View Full Details of Greenmantle Care HomeMy mum has been in Greenmantle for just over five weeks. She has Alzheimer's and was vulnerable living alone. Greenmantle has turned her around in the short time she has been there she is flourishing. I think the staff are amazing so friendly and caring. I think she is extremely fortunate to be here.
My mother has been at the Greenmantle Care Home since late August 2020. It has obviously been a difficult time with the lockdown etc. but she has been reasonably happy there. She misses her family but tells me every time I call or visit that the staff are wonderfully caring which for me is the most important thing. The home is in a nice quiet area of Woodford. It is a modified large house with space for 16 residents so is quite small and everyone knows each other. The bedrooms are ok, with decent beds and views. The facilities are a little tired but fully functioning. The staff were very welcoming and happy for me to change the bedroom a bit to make it more homely. The home has a large downstairs lounge with a TV and a nice eating area. It also has a reasonably sized garden and new hairdressing area which have not been used due to covid but looks good. The food is generally good and staff will take special requests into account. It is obvious the staff care about the residents.
My Grandmother who is 102 has been in this home for a number of years now. She suffers from advanced dementia. I am extremely happy with the care that she receives, nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff are extremely attentive to her and they think the world of her. The home is always clean and I know that she received the best care possible. I could not imagine her being in a different home and I know that they always do their upmost for her care and welfare.
During the Covid lockdown, my mother suffered a minor stroke then tested positive for Covid. The care and attention she received was impeccable. From being an extremely sick 95-year-old, she is now up and eating extremely well. I am kept regularly informed via text and little videos on her progress. Well done everyone at Greenmantle for all the love and care you give my mum.
My mother has been a resident at Greenmantle Care Home since October 2017. Over the past 6-months, I have been unable to visit her as the care home is in lockdown due to COVID. During this period, I have received regular text messages, photographs and updates from the home regarding my mum. They very kindly allowed me to visit on the day of my mother's 84th birthday. I parked on their driveway and could see my Mum in a wheelchair in the hallway, from a safe distance. I am so grateful for all that they do for her. It truly is a family centred establishment, that provides sensitive, personal care. Thank you.
My auntie became a resident of Greenmantle on the recommendation of a hospital doctor. During the months that my auntie lived at Greenmantle, she was treated with the utmost professional care and attention. Greenmantle manages to achieve a lively yet peaceful atmosphere without becoming chaotic. Whenever I visited the home I was impressed by the kindness shown to all the residents by all the staff, as were my own elderly parents and my aunties friends who also, made visits. The managers are excellent, I was very grateful for the help of the manager on the day of my aunties transfer to the home, she helped with the administration which involved social services handover. Whilst in the home, my auntie remained under the overall supervision of a hospital team. Greenmantle managers and staff were outstanding in keeping up-to-date with my auntie's changing needs and administering her medication. Furthermore, the manager attended hospital with my auntie on more than one occasion.
My mother has been a resident at Greenmantle for about two and a half years. I have always found it to be clean and staff helpful and friendly. My only concern is occasionally she would be wearing someone else's jumper or top, but it must be difficult to keep tabs on each resident's items of clothing. Unfortunately, my mother is now in a bad way and is not expected to lie much longer. I cannot praise the staff enough. They have treated my mother extremely well and nothing is too much trouble. We have been able to visit my mother at any time, day or night.
This is a small, friendly care home. The staff know all the residents and are aware of their individual preferences, which they try to accommodate where possible. The atmosphere is comfortable and homely, with friendly staff who give hugs if that is what the resident wants. They keep me informed of any problems Mum has.
Making the decision for a loved one to move into a care home is an extremely difficult one and then finding one is even harder. Greenmantle had something the others we saw didn’t. A wonderful homely feel about the place struck a chord with us and we knew that my Mum would be very happy there. The staff and owners have bent over backwards to ensure that she is happy and safe. We never thought we would see her walking again but with support and encouragement, she is on the move again. It’s wonderful to see Mum smile again.
Since my mum has been in Greenmantle Care Home she seems to be very happy and we as a family are happy that she is being looked after very well.

Since the new management team has arrived there have been many positive improvements to the decor and furniture in the home along with a significant increase in activities and entertainment for residents . With a stable friendly workforce and high hygiene standards I believe that this care home offers good value for money.
This care home is just 15 bedded, small and is not overwhelming for the residents. Family friendly !!
A very cordial management took a very good care of my uncle who was suffering from dementia. I would surely recommend the care home for the best care of people suffering from similar health issue.
