View Full Details of The LodgeBoth my parents were placed in the home some 18 months ago. Sadly my father recently passed away in hospital suffering from Alzheimer's. My mother currently suffers from Dementia and has no knowledge of me or the recent past events. All of the staff, management, administration and carers have acted in the best interests of my parents treating them as their own family. All act with compassion, integrity, and the utmost professionalism and are always attentive to their needs. In particular to medical needs, I have found them always on the ball. I am in constant contact with the home and even when arrive unannounced the staff always make time for me.
My Aunt arrived from a long stay in hospital on 29th May 2024 on Cherry. The following day after a good night's sleep she looked totally relaxed in her room. Members of the staff came to introduce themselves. There is a clean and relaxed atmosphere on entering the building. The staff were professional and caring when attending to my aunt's needs, encouraging her to walk when she could. All the staff were friendly, always with a smile on their face. Always very helpful and answered any questions when I needed any information. A short while after she arrived the management arranged for an airflow bed to aid her comfort. I have met many kind people in my time and all of the staff I encountered at The Lodge were top of my list for kindness, professionalism and compassion and this gave me the assurance my aunt was in good and capable hands. I would highly recommend this care to anyone as a care home for a loved one. My deepest thanks to everyone at the home. Regards.
I act as a power of attorney for a friend of the family. Whilst it has been a difficult transition for the individual having moved from the hospital following a fall to becoming a permanent resident, we have received good support from the management and staff of the home. Investment in the facilities is being made and I am pleased to say that she is now very settled at this home.
Saw mum yesterday, she always looks clean and tidy and is usually in one of the lounges when I arrive. There are always a lot of staff around, they are friendly and always appear caring and patient with the residents. I went to mum’s room to collect a cardigan, as it was clean and tidy as was her bathroom. Mum had previously complained to me that the food was boring and had little variety, she said yesterday that it was much better since the new owners took over. When you have a loved one in a care home, you want to feel confident that they are safe and being looked after, I have absolutely no doubt of that.
Very comfortable, kind staff, very pleasant.
My mum moved into The Lodge last month. She absolutely loves it. She has settled so well. The staff are all so kind. Her room is bright, also she is very happy with it.
I was visiting my mother-in-law for the first time as I live in New Zealand. Was very apprehensive but was so pleased to see her looking so well. Gave me peace of mind that she is safe and well looked after
I needed to place mum into respite care and was recommended "The Lodge". This was the first time I had placed her in care and thought it was the right time, it is still a big step fully entrusting a loved one to others. Having said this my initial experience for pre assessment was extremely reassuring. All the things that had worried me or questions I had were answered. On mum's first day the handover was dealt without any stress and mum was put at ease (not always easy especially with dementia). I later in the day had a call to say mum had settled in very well. I spoke to several staff during mum's stay all of whom updated me fully and most importantly were very reassuring. Discharge was also dealt with smoothly. Mum was very happy with all aspects of her stay indeed and really enjoyed it. I certainly have no doubts about using "The Lodge" for any future care needs. Thank you all for your friendly, supportive and professional service but above all for really caring for others.
Absolutely disgusting. The care given to my Dad! Well, there was none that I witnessed. My father was not allowed any visitors due to the end of the pandemic. Although this I feel was an excuse to literally treat their patients as they wished (with no care). But as we were not allowed in. When we were it was in a foyer, with no privacy at all. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. No way on this earth would I ever have let my Dad go there. My husband has cancer, and my Mum (main carer) was 87. Absolutely disgusting.
My mother was suffering from dementia as well as being old and frail, she went to The Lodge where she received excellent care and friendliness throughout. I was regularly updated with COVID changes by the administrator. All my dealing with the other staff especially one, in particular, was excellent. I can’t praise the staff highly enough and would like to register my thanks to all of them for the care and friendliness they showed my mother. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anybody. Many thanks.
My father has dementia and spent a two week respite period in the care home while I was on holiday. During his time staff were patient, caring and considerate for his condition. Activities were inclusive and despite him not joining in initially, he was encouraged to be part of the larger family and was disappointed to come away. When he does recall his visit, it is with pleasure.
The staff are very caring and patient. Also, there is not a huge turnover of staff so my mother knows and trusts the carers. There is a smell, especially in the older part but guess this is due to the size. It is clean and my mother enjoys the food. Would be nice if those with severe dementia could be separated as it can be a little scary sometimes.
My father has been a resident since February 2018. He has settled in very well and is looked after to a high standard. He is in the high dependency unit as he is unable to walk or feed himself. He needs a lifting aid. The staff constantly talk to him and include him in activities. He is free from pain. The care, food and facilities are of a very high standard. The Lodge not only cares for residents but also their family. We have continued support from the staff regarding our own struggles accepting his illness. All staff act professionally and with compassion. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. My Mum and I are very grateful to The Lodge and its staff.
Overall I am pleased with the care provided by The Lodge, the carers are helpful and have a good relationship with my father and the management respond well to queries I have. I have had some issues that concern me, however, nothing that has not been resolved to my satisfaction.
This is a friendly, caring home and my mother has settled in very well. The staff are friendly and caring.
Social worker really nice and friendly. Very helpful, easy to talk to about everything I wanted to know.
All of the staff are extremely caring, from the Manager to the carers and cleaners. The staff personalise the residents, call them all by their first names and interact with them extremely well at all times. The resident's bedrooms and shared lounges are very clean and well maintained. My mother-in-law suffers from acute dementia and tends to wander during the night time. There are always staff on hand to assist her during these episodes and their patience is amazing. One great advantage of the Lodge is that it is a very large property specifically designed for elderly care, unlike adapted large houses. From my own personal experience I can honestly say that after visiting several homes to try and find a suitable placement for my mother in law, this is by far the best. PS. Have just returned from the Mother's Day afternoon celebration for residents and family - it was great.
Overall mum is well cared for but sometimes her jug of squash in her room is not changed daily. On a number of occasions, we have thrown it away as it smelt and was stale.
Mum appears well cared for and is engaged in activities every day. The staff are polite and caring. Thank you.
I'm very happy with the care home. My daughter and I visit about 5 times a week. We are treated like family and made so welcome. My ex-husband is immobile and not vocal. The staff are great with him treating him with care and dignity.
