View Full Details of St Mary's HouseThe owners are clearly dedicated to providing excellent care to all of the residents. My mother is always clean and well presented and it is clear from her cheerful demeanor that she is happy. The staff are very friendly and the house really feels homely.
My experience of St Mary's House Hampton has been excellent. The staff are very good and kind. The management also is very caring. In my opinion one would have to go a long way to better the care and facilities.
The staff are incredibly friendly and professional and clearly care about what they do. There is a lovely atmosphere in the care home, and I believe the residents are very well looked after. We are very pleased with the service provided.
The words that best describe St Mary's are 'decency' and 'kindness', qualities that are typified by the caring staff. It always smells fresh and clean. I like that meals are taken in a separate dining area and the gardens are both secluded and welcoming. Attention to wellbeing and physical health is excellent.
I am very happy with the quality of care my mother receives at St Mary’s House. She has a lovely room which is kept very clean, the food is plentiful and nutritious. The staff are polite, respectful and very caring towards not only my mother but also her family as well. We are always made welcome when we visit.
I am really happy with the amount of care that my aunt gets, she is very happy at the home. l looked at a number of places for my aunt and I am very happy with it. My main concern was that she was safe and I am more than confident that is the case.
Mum was at St Mary's House for five years. The staff built up strong loving bonds with her, and many were working at St Mary's for the whole five years and some for many, many years before. The food was a big consideration for Mum, and it proved to live up to expectations; constantly high-quality home-cooked food. When it came to end-of-life care, the staff showed a huge depth of understanding and compassion for Mum and for us. Everyone is looking for different things in a care home, and for us, St Mary's was perfect.
I was apprehensive about my mother going into a home. Couldn't have been more wrong. Settled quickly. The staff are experienced, kind and gentle. When I visit, always an upbeat atmosphere and a lovely smell of home-cooked food. A very experienced manager of home can answer any questions you have. As a smaller home, it is very homely, and I don't have to worry about my mother as she is safe, well-fed, cared for and happy. Visitors are always welcomed, and lots of thought goes into the care residents receive. The rooms are bright and cheerful, and the family can bring in anything to make the family member feel more at home. As others have said, it is a special home, and I can relax knowing Mum is in safe hands.
My mum has been at St Mary's for almost three years now. I visit regularly, and I always feel that my mum is safe and well and being looked after by kind and caring people. It is important to know that someone is always taking the time to care for her needs.
My father has Alzheimer's and has been at St Marys since May '22. My mother and I knew as soon as we visited that this was a special place run in a special way. We can feel at peace with him there. The quality of care, affection, kindness and respect the staff show the residents is genuine and moving. It is well run to a high standard with residents and families in the centre. Good and easy communication with the manager and all. The atmosphere is loving and homely. There is a rhythm and peaceful calm, and despite the constant hard work, there is no sense of rush or hurrying the residents. My father was helped to settle at his pace, is content, calm and gets the most out of what he can. He always looks clean, shaved and cared for. They all do. Everything was washed and ironed there. Carers notice and tell us little things he has said or done. They take time to speak to residents. The food is outstanding, cooked there and homemade with daily cake at tea time. We always feel very welcome and cared for ourselves!
Our mother was at St Mary's House for the last seven months of her life: she needed to move from her retirement home after a fall meant she could no longer do very much for herself. When I first walked through the door to meet the owner and look around, it felt right: the owner and carers are very kind and helpful, and residents are treated with respect. The staff go out of their way to make things easier for the residents and to meet individual requests, and the food is excellent. St Mary's is a happy home with regular activities to keep people active mentally and physically, and family members and friends are made to feel very welcome. I cannot fault the treatment my mother received from everyone involved right to the end.
A very close and dear friend was a resident at St Mary's for some 18 months until we sadly had to say goodbye to her at the grand age of 99. I cannot say enough about the care and attention given by the manager and all the staff at St Mary's. Nothing is too much trouble. Though a small care home, it does mean everything is more personal. I would have no hesitation in recommending.
My mother lived at St Mary's House for the last two years of her life. She received such loving care that, although it was initially only for a trial period, she made St Mary's her home. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They treat each patient as an individual and with love and kindness. The spirit of the home is guided by the owner and her family, and they create a home from home for all their residents. I would most definitely recommend St Mary's.
My sister was a resident at St Mary's until she passed away recently. She was very happy and contented there. The staff were exceptional in their loving care. The atmosphere is like a real home, and visitors are made to feel welcome at any time.
My mum was a resident for nearly 8-years up to her death. Throughout this time, her needs changed and the staff were always kind and helpful, meeting her needs as best they could eg, initially, she would attend church events, and when the family couldn’t take her, St Mary's did. Also, regular hospital appointments when hospital transport was needed again she was accompanied by a member of staff. Towards the end of her life, extra equipment was ordered for her to help with her care again, all ordered by St Mary's. She had a period of time when she didn’t want to eat, and they came up with a way to persuade her to do so. I have so many examples of the care and help she was given. It is still a family-run care home owned and run by the same person for nearly 38-years. She uses her wealth of experience to make all of the residents feel happy and comfortable whilst ensuring their needs, mental, physical and medical are met. An excellent care home, I highly recommend.
My mother lived at St Mary’s for one year prior to her death in March. We had been reluctant for her to move to home but this was the best choice we could have made. Mum was so well cared for. The owner and staff are professional, caring and friendly. The food was very good and the room mum had was newly decorated, clean and had a lovely view of the garden. Mum had not been able to lie in a bed for several years because of arthritis but the manager arranged for a special bed to be installed and mum was able to sleep well in a bed for the first time in years. When she became ill last March the staff were so dedicated and kind in their care of her and so supportive of the family as we spent the last few days with mum. I am so grateful that mum was able to be cared for at St Mary’s. It is a very unique and special home.
My Aunt could not live on her own anymore. We wanted a small friendly care home. St Mary’s House more than fitted the bill. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. My Aunt does activities, really enjoys her food (so much better than the microwave meal she was having). Before the current situation, we could always pop in and were always kept informed. As regards the covid situations all measures have been put in place by the staff. I feel that a weight has been taken off my shoulders and I can relax knowing my Aunt is so well cared for.
My mother has now been a resident for over five years since the death of my father and I have only praise for the team for running such a happy home where everyone is made to feel that they are part of a family. She has always been very content here, loves her room and appreciates the wonderful home cooked food and attention of the carers. Residents are encouraged to join in the activities, visitors are always welcome and the manager also organises outings within the local area. This year being like no other I cannot commend the manager and her team highly enough for the precautions and many hours of extra work they have all put in to keep everyone safe.
My mother is 88 and has mobility issues, anxiety and age-related Alzheimer’s. She has been a resident at St Mary’s for 15 months having lived locally. The care and attention that she receives is excellent but it is the relationships with the staff that are exceptional. The staff knows the residents very well, are interested in their lives and families so that their care is individual, personal and positive. Whenever we visit, we are welcomed and included in the life of the home. We are informed of any developments and we feel able to pass information across as well as we have a common purpose which is the well-being of my mother.
As a nurse myself, I knew exactly what I wanted for my mother-in-law i.e. a home from home. She has attended a number of homes for respite before she went to St Mary’s. I was so impressed by the owner who is a hands on owner and she instills in all her staff to treat the residents like their own parents. All the residents are very happy. She is so content and well looked after.
