View Full Details of Norbury Hall Residential Care HomeMy sister and brother-in-law were admitted to the care of Norbury Hall in August and October of 2022. Both has previously in hospital and had developed dementia. From the very beginning, they were treated with care and compassion by the staff. I visited them once a week until they passed away in April and November 2024. They were treated with dignity and any issues raised were resolved quickly by management. I was always treated very well and kept informed of any falls or illness.
Sadly my mother-in-law didn't have too much time to enjoy Norbury Hall, moving in at the end of December 2023 and dying six weeks later. However, in the time she was there my wife and I were really impressed with the care she received. The building is very clean and well maintained to standards that would not be out of place in the country house hotel it rather resembles, and my mother-in-law (who had high standards in such matters) was very happy with the quality of the food. The staff seem exceptional, every staff member appeared to be genuinely caring and concerned for those in their charge and the communication from them about every stage and aspect of her care was excellent. All in all we are very pleased that she lived her last days in such a pleasant and caring environment and would like to thank all staff for making her last days as easy as possible.
The staff are very good. Very patient with the residents. I am quite happy leaving my husband in their care. He has improved in his ability to do things for himself since being here.
Care is good but the place could do with a modern look. Some rooms are dark and not airy. Need to have carpets in rooms or better flooring. The food needs to improve i.e. Some fruit.
My dad has been here at Norbury Hall for 19 months. From the very beginning, the staff have been lovely. So kind and caring to us as a family, especially for my mum. The staff have always welcomed us. We have never had any cause for concern for the care my dad has received and are so happy and pleased he is in this care home.
Lovely staff, deal with my mum pleasantly and professionally.
I am absolutely so grateful for the care and hard work the staff put into looking after my wife.
The staff at Norbury Hall are very caring and pleasant. My sister who stays here is well looked after. The place looks reasonably clean. When we ask them to do anything towards my sister they promptly do. I feel very comfortable to leave my sister here in this care home without any worries. I will recommend this care home to anyone who needs it.
My dear friend and neighbour was put into Norbury Hall last Wednesday for respite to be assessed. I helped her daughter settle her in and visited the next day. I didn't see any activities that were suppose to happen, and my friend was very stressed. Saturday I visited, she had a wrist injury which occurred when she was grabbed by a member of night staff, also there was an environment notice on the door saying the kitchen and storage area had a cockroach infestation. Had to get my friend removed.
My Mother was sent here by Social Services on Wednesday 21st September. I'm afraid the home is very poor in all areas. My Mother although only supposed to be going for respite for Social Services to do an assessment was totally distressed by the whole situation. No quality of care was given to her. A nurse had to be called as she suffered a severe tear to her arm. My Mother is nearly 96 years old, her skin is very frail and thin. A normal plaster was put onto the abrasion, which caused my Mum much pain a few days later when once home had to be removed by her normal Nurse. My sister and I decided to remove my Mother on Saturday 24th September. This is due to Norbury Hall being infested with Cockroaches. They had their Kitchen shut down on the Friday. The home made no attempt to inform any member of the family of this. My Mother went without hot food on Friday. There is an immense risk to health due to the evidence of an active cockroach infestation in kitchen and fast food areas. I worry for the residents.
Because of Covid, we had no choice when Mum, then aged 96, needed residential care. We could not have picked a better home than Norbury Hall. Mum thrived once she had settled in. There was so much going on at the home and she did things she hadn't been able to do for years. Besides the activities in the home there were outings, trips into Croydon and pub lunches. The staff have a difficult job but they were all amazing and we were welcomed with a tray of tea and biscuits. Her sudden death was unexpected and the deputy manager was in touch throughout the day and showed such understanding and kindness which we will never forget.
I love how the staff are well caring for their patients. They are both very emotionally involved In their works. This is a job where I would love to work with people that are very caring and are motivated
The team are so good with mum and she has settled in really well. The team are very supportive.
Overall the staff and management have been kind and responsive to my mother's needs. Have been kind and upstanding to my fears and anxiety of this most unimaginable reality of your parent or parents getting to this stage in life. But I sleep a little easier at night thinking she might be safe.
My dad was in the care home for two years and they knew nothing about him, his life or even why he was in the care home. He passed in July and four days before his passing they called me to inform me he was at end of life and had we arranged the funeral as he would need to be collected within one hour of his passing. This happened three times before my father passed. They have no consideration for how the family felt and the staff have no compassion. I have made a complaint and the management responded asking me to contact social services regarding his care that was given, they are supposed to look after him but they have passed the onus to social services. The staff and management have no compassion and are very uncaring. I would not recommend this care home if you want your loved ones to be cared for appropriately.
The care staff are very friendly. They have treated my husband with care and dignity, they have shown concern to any arising situation. The staff and management are very cooperative with me and my family and would like to pay a very big thank you for the care and support you have given to me and my husband.
My father has been at Norbury Hall for 4 months and the staff are wonderful to him. He has lost the use of his legs and the staff are providing 1 to 1 care. We visit weekly and the staff are always friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble.
The staff are friendly and you can see that they care about the residents. They aim to cater to all needs with activities and I know my mother is in safe hands and cared for. There is an air of transparency and you can ask questions and get answers. We are so pleased we found Norbury Hall.
Wonderful. Very nice to see my mother.
