View Full Details of Northbourne CourtMy Mother is receiving the best care possible. The carers are kind and caring and it makes me at peace knowing how well she has been cared for.
Have nothing but 100% praise for the care attention and most importantly the love given to my Dad. The carers certainly are care personified and the residents are encouraged to join in all the activities of which there are many. This obviously helps with their physical and mental health. I am very pleased with the choice of this care home after a very hard decision we all have to make. Well done Northbourne Court.
Let's focus. Northbourne Court's manager has achieved and will continue to achieve wonders with Northbourne Court under her top qualifications, experience and expertise; 1) Complete revision and improvement on all aspects of the home. Marvellous! 2) Her and the lovely staff there for any concerns. *NB* Blame computerisation and inflated accessibility of social media for creating a grossly impatient and uncourageous general public: enabling and encouraging people to unfairly discredit/criticise those they cannot personally face in a (probably personally unhappy) guise, posed selfishly and angrily towards unsuspecting targets. 3) To have fully-trained 24/7 care for a relative or friend afflicted by any type of Dementia is wholly testing, it takes true dedication - what would we do without it? 4) Carers are special people. 5) Thank goodness for Avante Care's 'Eden Alternative' approach across their homes. 6) So valued. Northbourne Court has the 'Eden' Platinum Award! 5 Stars, totally!
All the staff in my uncle's suite know him well, treat him with respect and you can see they care for him. They are always polite and make me feel welcome. We like that we can take him to the communal area by the lifts where it is peaceful and he can play the piano if he wants to. Due to not having teeth, he has to have pureed food which he isn't keen on but will eat when he is hungry.
Dad moved in just over two months ago and has settled in well. We have had a few teething problems which is to be expected, largely communication and expectations from us and staff. However, when raised they have been dealt with quickly. It is such a hard decision to make but I feel we have been well supported and reassured that Dad is being looked after.
I am very pleased with the care my mum receives at Northbourne Court. I can only thank them for bringing life back as it has always been for my mother before my father passed away. My mum lost the purpose of living but making a decision to move her to Northbourne is my best decision. The quality is great, food and the wonderful care staff who are so nice and professional. I think the management is doing a great job. Seeing my mum on social media celebrating her birthday was my highlight as I couldn't be there.
Big thumbs up to the amazing team at Northbourne Court. It is always refreshing when I visit my Mum. They have made it her home, very person-centred. I give them five stars. Great management and staff. The new chef is amazing. Great work and thank you for doing such an amazing job for mum.
I would like to place on record the care given to my wife during a very difficult time on Monday the 13th of May. The previous Friday, she started to lean very badly to the left, it was recommended that we should attend the local hospital unfortunately due to her extreme level of agitation, I felt this might be a mistake raising her anxiety levels to a non-manageable degree. The doctor agreed and recommended we try pain relief. The weekend went well, my wife was upright again, up until Monday afternoon when things went badly downhill. She was much worse and resisted any help from me, the two care staff at the time were regulars as my wife has got to know these staff members, she needed assistance walking and nobody else would do. In conclusion, my wife then had to go to hospital but with her level of agitation they could not send in the ambulance with one crew member so another ambulance had to be called. Thank you so much to the carers, now all is well.
My grandad is content, happy and well cared for at Northbourne Court. He was there for respite care a couple of years ago and is there currently, pending becoming a permanent resident. As a family, we are very pleased to see he is clean, his clothes are fresh each day, he is supported and helped to shave and shower - which he would never have asked for if he wasn’t completely comfortable. He is allowed to do his own thing if he wants his own space, as well as be involved in the array of wonderful activities that are provided. His social worker remarked on a visit that the care home was outstanding and wonderful and that they don’t have anything this good on the borough she works for (Grandad is not from Bexley). The staff listen to his wonderful stories about his life and remember him and his family. Everyone is helpful and friendly. It is clean and tidy and secure for residents with dementia which was important to us. It is perfect for my grandad.
My praise goes to the management and the staff of Nothbourne Court for being the best place for my Mother. The activities, food, and service are 5 stars. Thank you for all you do, my Mum's health has improved significantly, she is so active at the home. I have no concerns as my Mum feels safe living at Northbourne Court.
I will recommend Northbourne Court any day as I have seen my Grandmother transform. The staff have cared very well for her, her appearance when I visit is so amazing. She is always in one activity or goes out for an activity. The home has done well, and the staff are so caring, very professional, and polite. The management team is very great, and every issue I took to the lovely manager was always addressed. Well done to the lovely team at Northbourne Court. 5 stars from me.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Northbourne Court for a while. I cannot speak highly enough of the care she receives. She is contented and well cared for by all of the staff. When we visit the home is always clean and smells fresh. We have always found the staff to be both attentive and helpful.
I visited the home very recently and what I saw was very impressive. My friend was well taken care of by the staff members who were nothing but nice and very approachable attending to all my friend's needs promptly. I saw a very comfortable environment and interesting activities at the piazza within the short moment I spent with my friend. Overall, I love the home.
When I came to the care home, I was a 7-stone man unable to walk without the aid of a Zimmer frame. Due to the brilliant care from all the staff members and the brilliant range of quality food, I am now a 12, sixty-something, fully fit man. Activity members would knock on my door, wait for me to waddle up to the pizza, get me seated and when the muscle started, get me up to dance, Zimmer and all. A brilliant 90-minute of daily entertainment. It made me realise that these people were not just carers. They really cared.
Putting mum into a care home 18 months ago was the scariest thing I have ever had to do due to the stigma attached to a lot of care homes. I have to say that Northbourne Court has been the best thing I could have done for Mum, she is now living a much better life than I could have imagined, she takes part in the many activities the home do, all the staff are so caring and attentive. It feels more like a luxury hotel than a care home, you can tell the staff know they are working in the resident's home and really do their best to make them feel like they are at home. My mum has Alzheimer’s and 18 months ago was so anxious being in her own home and I thought I had lost the ‘mum’ I know and love but now thanks to the brilliant care and support of the staff. Mum is now thriving.
The home is very clean and my brother-in-law is doing well. Visited him twice now and he looks very well. The manager is very lovely and will take time to talk to us. My wife and I visited and she was very polite. I love the home and the staff are nice. I am very grateful for their care and looking after him so well. The food is good and the activity on social media is always good.
There are some good staff here but also bad. I actually wonder why people that are uncaring want to work in an industry where it is all about caring for people. I am so sad that my Nan's life ended here. She deserved better care and attention. Luckily she had a loving family. Some residents don't have any family and are all alone. Please do your research before picking a care home. There are many review sites. Look at as many review sites as you can before you make a decision. We will all be old one day. Things really need to change in the care industry.
The carers in this home are outstanding. They are so positive and caring, I have never had a bad experience to report. My mum loves all of them. Mum has improved so much since coming to Northbourne Court that I wouldn't consider moving to anywhere else. Thank you to all of the staff.
Since my mother has been at Northbourne Court, I have found her care exceptional. The staff are always caring, polite and friendly. The activities are very and very frequent. The summer fair was an amazing event, so inclusive, with great food, great entertainment, and so much fun for everyone.
Would not recommend it. They do not help feed, wash or care. They let them walk around naked while the workers are on their phones in the same room. There’s a lack of everything there if I could show photos I would. The food I wouldn’t even serve to my dog. It’s horrific.
