View Full Details of Rutland HouseThe staff are always so accommodating and will try to do anything to help my mother have a good day. They will even make her fish and chips if she asks for it. The staff always have a smile on their faces even though they do a difficult job. We appreciate how the home cares for my mother. Thank you.
Very happy with the care that you are providing my Mum. She is eating properly cooked meals now. Not long after Mum came to the home you could see the sparkle come back in to her eyes. Many thanks for all your care from all of our family.
Rutland House is a caring, calm and supportive environment led by a dedicated and loving team who treat my mother with the respect she needs. I have complete trust and confidence in the team at Rutland and would highly recommend this wonderful home.
Staff have always been very nice and all residents needs seem well catered for. Always room to park your car and the front door security is very good. The ladies that work there are also very nice and friendly.
My mum has now been in Rutland House since April 2024. It is a small care home and the property is older style Victorian House which some may found not to appealing. The house is very clean, no smells at all when you walk in the property which many care homes have. There is always many care workers on hand to help with the residents at all times which I was very impressed with the kindness and patients they show to all including visitors. The rooms have personal things which residents are encouraged to bring to make them feel at home and rooms always kept very clean and tidy at all time. The menu is right for older people and good choice and my mum has put on weight since living there and they have activities during the day as well. My mum is always clean and tidy and if she has any problem they inform me. The most important thing at this home I feel is the care and help they give to all living there. My mum is much more alert and happy since she has been living there.
My elderly mum moved into Rutland House in early April 2024. Premises very clean and staff very friendly. My mum has settled in well, she seems very happy and so am I that my mum is being looked after and cared for, which has been a huge worry when she was living alone.
My mum has been in Rutland House for over a year now. The staff are very kind, supportive and attentive. I have also seen and heard staff in their interactions with other residents there and I have only ever witnessed patience and kindness. The staff and management are helpful and responsive. It was, therefore, disappointing to see the recent inspection which, overall, judged Rutland House as ‘Requires improvement’. Any inspection process that downgrades an overall rating to ‘requires improvement’ when three of the indicators are recognised as ‘good’ is, by any objective measure, odd. Perhaps it is the inspection process that 'requires improvement'. Either way, if you’re considering Rutland House for a loved parent or relative please read beyond the ‘Requires improvement’ headline. That’s certainly not my experience. I’m able to relax, safe in the knowledge that my mum is well cared for with kindness and understanding.
My Mum has now been in Rutland House for one year. We are absolutely delighted with the standard of care that Mum has received; she is happy, content and thriving. Each time a carer comes into her room, she takes their hand and tells them how lovely they are - this is so reassuring. We visit several times each week and can see that Mum is eating well, she is always clean, has her clothes changed daily and is fully supported with all her toileting needs. Communication with the Manager is excellent; she responds quickly to any queries and keeps us fully informed about any changes in Mum's health. The home itself is quite dated, but this is more than made up for by the caring staff and family-oriented ethos that you can feel as soon as you enter. We were very disappointed to see that the recent CQC inspection gave an overall rating of 'requires improvement' this is certainly not our experience. We wouldn't want Mum to be anywhere else.
Since my nan's been at Rutland House Care Home she’s been well looked after, staff are very good to her and she comments on how lovely they are to her. My nan is content and happy which is the most important thing for us to see.
As a family we were concerned about Mum going into a care home. Mum settled well despite not wanting to leave home. I cannot praise the entire staff team enough for the nurturing and empathetic care they give to the residents. My mother would constantly say how lovely the staff were. She also enjoyed the food. Thank you Rutland House.
We were very worried and upset when we could no longer manage Nan’s care at home but all our concerns were put to rest when Nan settled so well and quickly in to Rutland House. She is very happy there and tells us every time we visit about how everyone is lovely to her. She eats well and always looks clean and well cared for. The staff and management are very gentle and caring and have been very supportive of our family while we are also caring for our sick father. It has been a huge help knowing Nan is happy and settled.
My aunt is very happy and well looked after. She has settled in well and despite being very frail with poor quality of life she has been given as much assistance as possible to help her live more comfortably and for her needs to be met on a daily basis. The standards in the home are excellent and the staff are all amazing.
This is a private care home and they are dementia specialists. All the staff are competent and caring. There are two carers in particular who are very good with my wife. The food standards are high. All aspects of the running of the care home are first class.
The staff are very kind. During covid, they have taken extra care. They have lots of things to do there if any problems are notified at once.
Our aunty is very happy in the home. They are very caring and keep her clean. Due to Covid and being unable to visit, they have kept us updated on her condition and are even sending photos. The staff at this care home treat us as family as well.
My aunty is very happy in the home and says they are all so caring and look after her well. They were very good at updating us during the Covid-19 pandemic when we couldn't go to visit and they regularly send us photos of my aunty as all her family live away. At the moment my aunty is very ill so they have let us visit her anytime we can as we live in Wales. Whenever we have visited my aunty always looks clean and well dressed and it is obvious she is well looked after. The home is like a home from home.
A small care home where residents and staff are like a family. There is well-kept outside space with comfortable seating and shade. During the pandemic management was proactive and all residents remained safe. This was very important to us as a family. There is a wide range of activities such as pet therapy, music group, reminiscence art and craft, pilates and bingo outside the pandemic. During fine weather, residents can enjoy tending raised flower and vegetable beds.
My wife is an interim respite resident. Rutland House has been so good in enabling my wife to settle in. They have been very supportive of me and my family. The staff are excellent and I feel that she is now receiving the correct care for her condition.
In a very difficult time for my family and I, the team have been amazing. The staff are always lovely and helpful, the director goes above and beyond to keep us updated. Would strongly recommend. The team is great.
The people who work in this care home have given nothing but support and care to my Mum and our family. They have been amazing with communication and giving us regular updates with my mum's care, also any external issues that need organising. The care workers work incredibly hard and I can only imagine how difficult it can be. They always have a smile on their face and are really friendly.
