View Full Details of Whitby DeneWe were recommend by two different people who had their relative here, I also had Dad in for respite care. He is now coming in for care 24/7. Everybody cared and listened even though he is difficult. I felt happy to leave him here.
All staff are approachable, attentive, kind and compassionate to all my mothers needs. Nothing is too much effort. Whenever we ask any questions they are so responsive and meet us with care and attention. It was such a hard decision to put our mum into a home and the staff have helped us to come to terms with this. Thank you.
I always get an update regularly regarding my mum's health status though my mum is on palliative care. I am very satisfied and grateful to all the staff and to the quality of care given to my mum. This care is reflected on my mum's facial expression though she can't express it verbally, every time me and my brother visit her.
The staff at Whitby Dene are amazing. It must be such a difficult job both physically and mentally and yet they apply themselves with such professionalism and good spirit. I am always met with smiles and wonderful manners from the staff and this doubtless leads to a pleasant atmosphere for the residents too.
Lovely staff. Carers well looked after. My dad is very happy at Whitby Dene.
My brother-in-law has been in Whitby Dene for over a year now. The staff are very helpful and welcoming when I visit him and he is comfortable and happy there. It has been a difficult time recently when my wife, his sister died. But he seems to be relaxed and content now. Everyone there is most supportive of both him and myself.
Our mother was initially placed in Whitby Dene after breaking her arm and was allocated by the local council. She has now been there for 3 months and it is likely she will remain there long term. Even though the home is out of borough, and it would be far easier for us as a family to have her back in her own borough, nearer to us, we made the decision to keep her at Whitby Dene as we do not believe we would find anywhere that matches the care, or the overall harmony of the home. Our mother is taken out on frequent trips to a local café/pub/garden centre and there are continual activities being held in the home each day (dominoes/games/art and craft/music/piano playing etc). Our mother is never lonely or bored and the staff are friendly, warm, and caring. It has been a home from home and we cannot thank staff enough for the extra lengths they go to to make the residents stay a happy one.
Overall, we, as a family, are very happy with the care my father receives at Whitby Dene. The whole team, from management down, has always been very supportive and done an amazing job looking after my father's needs. The care home always looks clean too. Thanks to everyone at Whitby Dene. We really appreciate what you do.
A warm and welcoming experience from all. Staff were pleasant, professional, friendly and helpful. The verbal and non-verbal interactions we evidently in harmony. Brilliant! Whitby Dene Care Home reception area was also welcoming, clean, fresh and airy. Mum was a resident for a one-week respite and I believe she was well cared for. I would definitely recommend this care facility.
I have always found the home to be clean and tidy and my mother's room spotless. The staff are friendly, from the bottom to the top and are always helpful with any small matters that occur. I am kept updated by the home should there be a problem regarding her health and well-being.
My father has been at Whitby Dene since December 2022 and has received nothing but the best care since the start. Every single member of staff is friendly and welcoming. They make sure that they know the residents needs and do the best they can to make sure they are happy, safe and comfortable. There is a varied, daily timetable of activities which my father is involved in. My father is happy and settled and I am contacted regularly with updates of what he is doing, as well as any concerns which may arise. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely home!
Our mum was very much at home at Whitby Dene. She was in another home at the coast prior to Whitby Dene, but we decided to relocate her so she was nearer to us. The level of care that Mum received at Whitby Dene was so much better than at the other home. We met with staff before Mum was admitted to have a look around, which was really useful. We got to know a lot of the carers by name - Whitby Dene don't seem to rotate staff as much as the previous home, which is really important. And the carers really do care. They also do a lot of activities and trips, which must take so much effort. Access to the home is easy too - for me it was most convenient to go in the evenings, and despite reception being closed you can still buzz for access. I liked that there were a lot of little lounge rooms which are well decorated and make for a nice break from the bedrooms, which could be a bit more homely. Thanks to all at Whitby Dene for making our mum's stay a comfortable, safe, and welcoming one.
I always find it a very friendly, welcoming environment at Whitby Dene. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. They go the extra mile and get me tea and biscuits sometimes. I visit my dad about three times a week. His room is always warm and comfortable and the staff often check to see that he's okay. I attended resident of the day and we covered all my dad's needs. Good to see the outdoor trips have started up again too.
The staff are fabulous - very helpful and kind, always accommodating and I'm so thankful they are here and looking after my grandmother. Well done, all!
Unfortunately, my husband was only in the home for three nights, he refused to stay longer. Very impressed from first going through the doors. The welcome from all the staff - cleaners to management - was warm. Well trained. My husband's room was moved around to make him feel at home. The whole building is bright and airy. The staff could not do enough to make him feel at home and to try and make him stay longer for my sake!
I would like to compliment the staff of Whitby Dene for their courteous and friendly professionalism in performing their duties in taking care of their residents (one is my sister). I visited my sister in August 2022 several times. The staff were very enthusiastic and accommodating in taking care of my sister. She seemed to be happy at your care home. I enjoyed one of your programmes which I was fortunate enough to attend at that time. My sister and other residents were dancing with your staff. My compliments to the manager/superintendent of Whitby Dene. Thank you.
Jubilee's garden party at Whitby Dene was a very enjoyable afternoon. Excellent refreshments, singing, dancing and entertainment. Residents and visits very well catered for. Staff very attentive to residents and families.
My mother has Alzheimer's and has been at Whitby Dene for nearly five years. As her condition has worsened my mother has become very aggressive, this is not helped by the fact my mother has become very deaf but refuses to wear hearing aids. The staff continue to treat my mother with dignity, despite her being a very challenging resident. Their patience and care towards her are exemplary. I couldn't do it!
My experience of this home is extremely positive, with friendly and efficient staff who do all they can to help. It is clean, tidy and has a wonderful ambience, giving me every faith that my mother is very well looked after.
Good quality staff, very caring and supportive. I am kept well informed about my mum's progress and wellbeing. She is happy and likes the staff. I believe the home is well managed. The staff are consistent which is good for everyone. There is a good range of activities for the residents to take part in. Overall, the experience for both my mum and myself has been considerably better than we thought it would be.
