View Full Details of Wilhelmina HouseMy husband spent two months here following a stroke, as our home was being refurbished. Wilhelmina House has a peaceful, calm atmosphere and a lovely garden. It is well laid out and furnished, and staff work hard to maintain a very high standard of cleanliness. The home is well-run and managed. Staff are friendly, supportive and very responsive. My husband felt safe and well cared for here and he was encouraged to take steps to regain his mobility and independence.
I have been here for 3 weeks and I have been very happy. Everything is excellent.
It has been a very difficult transition for Mum to move into a home. I looked at a few and found Wilhelmina House to be the best choice by far. It has such a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. The first thing that hit me was the light, garden and calm atmosphere. It's such a serene, tranquil space with lots of places to relax. The staff are delightful. I have always found all the staff to be kind, helpful, friendly and smiling. Mum is not easy to please and does find the food not to her taste. I haven't tried it of course so only going from what she says. From my own perspective, I love Wilhelmina and am so happy mum is here.
I would be hard-pushed to find another home that could compete with Wilhelmina House. Mum has lived here very happily for several years and always tells me how good it is when I visit. I'm grateful for those who care and encourage her. I know my concerns are answered promptly and good contact is maintained between the staff and myself.
What a fantastic place for all residents. The staff do everything and go over and above their duties. Great job!
My mother has settled in very well at Wilhelmina House. She very much enjoys the wide range of activities. The staff are all excellent, always friendly and efficient. I am sure she will continue to be happy and thrive here.
I find the atmosphere and friendly approach of the care staff encouraging. The facilities are also very good, beautiful garden and enjoyable social garden events which have been lively.
We find the staff very friendly and helpful. Mum is also very happy. Maybe there can be an improvement in the taste of food and also maybe the communications between residents family. Otherwise really happy that mum is happy. At the end of the day, that's all that matters.
Wilhelmina House is a delight. My 96-year-old father has been here for around 6 months and it has very quickly come to feel like home for him and that is wholly because of the lovely staff who work here. The home itself is modern, bright and spacious, with beautiful well kept gardens. The staff always have a smile on their faces and my father is always commenting on how kind and caring they are. They are very flexible - my father opts to have breakfast in his room and then joins the other residents for lunch and tea. There is a steady supply of food and drinks throughout the day. They take care of all his medical needs and there is a GP who visits weekly. The house is part of the Whitgift Foundation who put a lot of effort into arranging activities most days for residents and in recent weeks there have been coffee mornings, a barbecue and garden party for residents and their families. It is a very happy care home that he and my brother and I are very grateful to have found.
My mum originally came to Wilhelmina House for respite care. She was recovering from 2 surgeries within a week, one unexpected with life-changing impacts. There is a homely atmosphere. The downstairs shared spaces are lovely. Mum's room looked over the beautiful gardens which meant so much to her. She was able to watch foxes on the lawn and spot a variety of birds. It's so quiet and lots of mature trees in the area. The staff have been astonishingly caring, supporting my mum when she felt overwhelmed by her unexpectedly quickly changed circumstances. The staff treat the family of residents as part of the family. Mum loved the garden, and activities including the live music, drumming, exercise, flower arranging and the energy of the children's visits from the local primary schools. And she loved the staff. She couldn't believe how caring they are. As the staff say, this is your home and they're there to help you live safely, comfortably and with joy.
This is a wonderful caring loving home. Staff always kind and helpful. Beautiful garden. Good food. Lots of interesting activities. Exactly what you would want. A heartfelt thank you for all your tender loving care for my stepmother.
My uncle was very well cared for at the Wilhelmina House. He was quite content and appreciated all that was done for him. The staff were very caring and kind and I could see they developed a genuine fondness for him. His only moan was the food, he didn't like overcooked vegetables. His family would like to thank you all for making his last year safe and comfortable. He died today in hospital.
Wilhelmina House has always been excellent, clean, well managed with caring and attentive staff and very accommodating. My mother's 101st birthday they absolutely excelled even further putting on a great party for my mum which made her day very special we were all so very appreciative of this as mum preferred not to go out for this as she had just recovered from covid. My mum is very happy here and she is not easy to please so hats off to the management and staff. Well, done and keep doing what you are doing.
My aunt has been here for 6 weeks now and settled in really well. All the staff are so lovely and friendly, lots going on to keep her busy. A good variety of food. And a very clean and happy care home. One of the best I’ve seen around the area.
My mother has been here for 18 months. Having been able to remain independent until she was 99. She remains fit and able but would never want to go back to the stress and strain of independence. Opticians, doctors, and any medication; all come to you. The staff really seem to enjoy their work and are very warm and able to look after the small number of residents, above and beyond. It is a proper home from the moment you walk in the door. Superb!
I have been a resident for just over one year. It was such a great shock to me having to suddenly leave my own home, and enter this care home. I was so fit until I had to have surgery, which meant I would no longer look after myself at home. I was obviously upset and worried about the future, but after a short period of adapting to a new way of life, I settled in very well thanks to the excellent facilities all around and realising the carers really cared, and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was able to join in and enjoy various activities. When speaking to relatives and friends I now can call it home.
My mother has been a resident at Wilhelmina House for just over a year. During this time she has been shown unfailing kindness by the Care Staff. They initially supported her through the traumatic transition from living in her own home and have continued to treat her with dignity and much good humour, especially during periods of ill health. The premises are pleasant, clean and well maintained but these aspects are very much secondary to the excellent attitude of the staff. Mum particularly enjoys the beautiful gardens at Wilhelmina House which have helped her come to terms with the loss of her own much-loved garden.
Without hesitation, this care home is excellent, always smelling so fresh, from time of arrival at the door, it is so clean all over. Health and safety 4 star rating, very good value for money and all the residents seem to be happy and making friends easily.
During the pandemic Wilhelmina House has been managed with great care and efficiency to protect residents, with exemplary results. The staff team have looked after residents with much kindness and consideration, making them feel that Wilhelmina House is indeed their home and family community. The conditions have not been easy, but staff's caring motivation and devotion to their duty has made life as comfortable and agreeable as possible for residents, and they are to be congratulated.
I am extremely impressed with Wilhelmina House. It is a lovely environment and the care provided is of a high standard. It gives a professional, well-run, clean impression when we have visited and the staff seem caring, friendly and attentive.
