View Full Details of Woodlands Care HomeResidents are treated with dignity and respect within a homely environment. There are lots of activities to keep residents from becoming bored. I feel there is good communication between staff, service users and relatives. I never feel that staff are too busy to talk to me. Residents are properly dressed and well groomed. The care staff are genuinely caring and lovely. A real support when my relative arrived at the home.
An outstanding care home. My father was there only a short while but the care and support we received were to the highest level. Every day we were greeted with an update on how Dad was during the night and his morning routine. We were kept informed every step of the way. His personal hygiene was attended to with respect and dignity. My mother was looked after when visiting my father. I can’t fault this team of carers and management. I would absolutely recommend this care home. I would like to thank you all at The Woodlands Care Home for everything you did to keep my father comfortable.
Situated within walking distance of two stations and on a bus route with some visitor parking. A cheerful, bright and welcoming atmosphere with caring and helpful staff creates a comfortable and home-like environment with activities in the lounge. Before Covid, visits from outside agencies were made. A lovely accessible garden and delicious home-cooked food/meals completes the tour.
My mother was in the hospital during this period and they were a great support to me. My mother wasn't treated very well in the hospital and the care home was very good in getting her out of the hospital, returning her to the home and giving her the love and care she needed to help her health improve. They are still doing all they can.
My mum recently passed away at Woodlands Care Home. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their love, care and support of Mum during her time living here, but also in her final weeks. The dignity and compassion shown to Mum and our family at such a difficult time were excellent. Mum felt part of the Woodlands family and so did we. I am forever grateful for the wonderful care that Woodlands and all the team provide as a care home for dementia patients.
My father already attended the Day Care Centre with much enjoyment, so when my mother was hospitalised, it was natural to place him in the Care Home as he could not live at home alone. The transition was seamless and it quickly became obvious that he was thriving in the lively atmosphere. The time sourcing a permanent home via LBH was stressful but I was never concerned for my father's well being or safety. The care staff were just that, kind and caring, carrying on with his planned birthday party. The office staff deserve a special mention, as they were unfailingly kind to me and so helpful in extending his stay when it proved tricky to find a space in a home, in these difficult times. They sent me a photo of his room as I couldn't go in. Every member of staff I spoke to, obviously knew my father as a person, not just a name. The manager also went above and beyond, always having time to help me with advice. I would recommend Woodlands Care Home and the Day Centre, without hesitation.
Woodlands have been taking the best care of my mum since Feb 2018. Mum always looks well-groomed and has a happy disposition, she enjoys a laugh and a joke with the staff who have a genuine rapport with her. The staff are very welcoming and put me at ease when I phone or visit, they are very reassuring if I have any concerns about mum. I feel the home go above and beyond in their effects to ensure the residents lead fulfilling lives.
The staff are very dedicated and worked tirelessly to keep all residents safe. Nothing is too much trouble.
My father has been a resident at Woodlands Care Home for 3 and a half years. My family could not have wished for better care than Woodlands has to offer for him. All his needs are cared for as he suffers from dementia and is very elderly. The staff and the management teams are lovely, friendly and efficient in all they do. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodlands should anybody ask for my advice.
Woodlands is an extremely caring home who care about all their residents. All the staff are kind and attentive to the needs of the residents in all they do. There are always activities arranged for the residents to partake in.
Our family cannot fault the care our mum receives at Woodlands. The staff are always welcoming to visitors and show respect and warmth to all the residents. We are kept informed by newsletter of mum's forthcoming social activities and, prior to the pandemic, encouraged to join in with as many as we can. We have nothing but admiration for the way the management and staff coped during lockdown, going above and beyond to ensure that every resident was kept safe and well.
Small friendly home; staff friendly and caring know each resident's needs and life ensuring inclusion in activities and daily life. Lots of varied days of activities, singing, games. Privacy and dignity maintained, likes and dislikes respected. Care of relatives excellent too, plenty of cups of tea, is a big family!
All the staff, without exception,, are welcoming, caring and warm. My mother was welcomed into the home in November 2016. She suffered with Alzheimer's and needed caring, secure accommodation and this care home was able to give this to my Mum. They were excellent in keeping me informed on her health and I could see that she was settled and happy to stay there. My Mum died 2 months ago and the support we were given was second to none. They made us feel like we were part of a big family. Thank you. I will continue to visit the home.
This is a small but exceedingly welcoming care home, with staff and management hardworking and friendly, with limitless patience. My wife entered the home in January and has been there for three months and our family is very pleased with the care given to her; nothing is too much trouble for them. We are all made very welcome whenever we visit, which is any time we wish, although we do try to call when it is not meal time. If I ever need the same type of care, I would have no hesitation in going to the Woodlands.
My mother joined Woodlands Day Centre in Nov 2017. I was looking for a facility where she could socialise and be stimulated while also providing respite for my husband and myself. She has Alzheimer's Disease and so does not like change and was initially determined not to stay or take part in activities. However, she was soon won over by the staff who are incredible. The atmosphere is cheerful and happy. The staff are attentive and caring and have really got to know and understand my mother. She is not intimidated as it is a small facility and she has developed friendships with the other attendees. Now going to 'club' is her favourite topic.
My mum started using Woodlands day centre in September 2016 so that my dad who was her main carer could have a break. After attending the day centre 3 days a week for just over a year mum became a full-time resident. The manager and staff have been amazing with not only my mum but also my dad. We are always made to feel so welcome when we visit and never rushed to leave. Woodlands has a lovely atmosphere and family feel to it. Being a smaller care home has been great for my mum as she had begun to get distressed in large groups of people.
Lovely home, very friendly staff nothing is too much trouble and the staff look after me too giving me cups of tea and support when I need it. My wife is settled and happy and enjoys the activities and likes to walk around the garden. Open visiting is good and I can pop in anytime. It is a very good home.
Woodlands Care Home Ltd was chosen for my friend who has advanced Alzheimer's because of its homely environment so unlike many of the rather cold faceless care I have visited. The staff are excellent, seeming genuinely to care for their residents. The food is superb home-cooked and delicious. The garden with its sheltered seating area provides a change of scenery for residents and visitors alike.
I find Woodlands to be a small friendly home. The management and staff are lovely and always welcoming to family and friends. It is a home from home with a beautiful garden/sitting area and nutritious home-cooked meals.
Mum went into Woodlands Care Home from hospital after a fall in her own home. At first, it was for respite care but seeing mum settling in and being looked after so well and above all - happy, meant that I made it permanent. For the next few months, she joined in with activities provided to stimulate her and lost her sense of loneliness. At the end, staff could not do enough for her, encouraging her to eat and drink and keeping her comfortable to the end. Thank you Woodlands.
